  • In this video I demonstrate my personal techniques for applying weathering and battle damage to my resin helmets. These techniques I also found work great for foam props as well as certain fabrics and other materials.
    Helmets and props can be found on my website:

    God damn that looks good. I love clean helmets, but there’s something about the heavy weathered look that really makes me happy.

    At 17:42, those are not washes. Washes are when you thin the paint near the constancy of water and let it wash over and go in the crevices naturally, hitting the low points and leaving the high points the original color.

    This was a very well informed video on weathering, I always struggled a little when it came down to it but watching this step by step process I feel more a understanding concept and I'm more confidant to give it a go. Thank you!!

      Ken Wong awesome. I’m just glad you were able to stay awake and interested. I was worried about the runtime and my lack of experience in making videos.

    rather that using I file, I usually scrape it on a concrete floor and throw it around. My logic is most of that kind of damage would come from floors and walls, so let them do the work.

    Is there a specific amount of time we should wait for the washes? Also I have heard you can use shoe polish instead of paint, what’s your opinion on that?

    Nice work man! Quick question though, have you ever thought of doing a red hood helmet that’s battle damaged? Like maybe a chunk missing where the eye is ya know? Just curious.

    • @DarkKnightFX
      @DarkKnightFX  6 лет назад

      teambringit92 this one is battle damaged. Or you mean extreme damage as in a literal huge piece of the helmet cut out?

      Dark Knight FX yeah that’s what I meant ha.

      Christopher Decker it’s 3-d printed then molded in silicone with a fiberglass jacket mold and cast in resin.
