Hi. I’m new to emulators and everything and I’m looking for a Advance Wars 1 or 2 emulator. I can’t find anything other than a couple websites that download the game and let you play it there. But if I save anything and close out of the emulator I lose everything. Any advice?

Hi Mr. Sujano, I'm recently getting more into emulators myself. One emulator I found that's pretty phone (android) friendly is John GBAC, like the other John emulators but this one can play both color and advance roms making it more convenient. It organizes folders nicely as well, easy to find a save file. Check it out if you haven't. Cheers. P.s I have slight troubles bringing saves over to RetroArch plus. Could be bc I make snapshot saves thru emulator instead of in game saves. A video specifically about that might be great too!

Great video, I really don't understand why somebody would want someone else's progress though. But transferring your own progress to other devices is useful.
A reason why I would use someone else’s save was if I beat the game and had everything or something then lost that save somehow, instead of playing through the game again I could just download someone else’s full game and play it that way lol
There are plenty of games (lots of fighting games) where you start the game off with most of the roster/levels locked. Instead of having to beat the game to play as a character I liked, I could download a save that's been beaten 100% and have full access to everything from the beginning. Also, with games with creative suites (Ex:WWE CAW, Graffiti Kingdom characters,etc) saves are pretty much the only way to distribute your creation unless you write down the formula or are physically able to transfer your data from one memory card to someone else's.
I’m legally blind. Always have been. I have a transmitter set up on my nvidia shield that allows me to play. I OWN many handheld games but now I can play them bigger on the tv. Everything you do helps. Your content is the most helpful. That said, do you know about xlink kai
I'm on a Lenovo Chromebook Duet and couldn't access the retroarch app's built-in save file directory from my regular file explorer. I installed the Files app from the Play Store and it worked like a charm. Now I can pick up my games from where I left them. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the video. In my case, I wanted to transfer a N64 save file which was created with Project64 (PC) onto the M64Plus FZ (Android). What I had to do was RETAIN THE EXACT FILE NAME that each respective emulator creates. For example, Project64 creates a save file called "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA.sra", but when playing the exact same ROM on M64Plus FZ, it creates a save file called "Legend of Zelda, The - Ocarina of Time (U) (V1.2) [!].sra". Therefore you have to rename the first file with the second file's name (essentially rewriting it) in the same location you found it. Be sure to do this with the emulator closed out or it could rewrite it again before you ever get a chance to open it. Good luck!

I need a bit of help. Im trying to transfer MelonDS Saves to Lemuroid, but i cant figure out how to do it. The only thing i have is the MelonDS files that i made with the saves but i cant find Lemuroids File.
I have a big question If I get a new PC or Laptop and want to transfer my emulator over to the new PC, how exactly would I do that? I’ve tried just copying the application, but didn’t work So I assume I have to include the installation process or whatever? if you are migrating a file from a GBA flash cart to an emulator on retro arch you may have to change the extention from a .srm to a .sav it will give you a warning but it will work
I spent an unhealthy amount of time setting up my retroarch saves to sync between my phone and pc. It took a while and by the end I had already played most of the pokemon games I was setting this up for, but at least it's up and running
could you make a video about dlc in retroarch? especificly the megaman powered up dlcs, im quite confused because there are a bunch of dlcs and they come as a paste, and i don''t know how to ''''fuse'''' all of them into one save file

Yes please I have an issue have retroarch on my fire stick I save my game and loads up fine. When I came back the next day none of my games will load. I look in the save folder it shows me the saved games but they won't load what happened. I played action fighter for Sega Master system made it super far with saving it next day wouldn't load up 😭😭😭 help please
I tried to do what you said. First I downloaded a save data for my game for the europe version(bc there is where I live) and then I had an savedata to my game. I copied its name and renamed the new savedata. After that I deleted the old save. When i got into the game there was no save. If anyone can help pls reply 🥺
Can you perhaps help me with a problem I have? I use EmulatorBox(EmuBox) on Android. I was playing Pokemon platinum when suddenly all the keys dissapeared. I tried deleting the Rom from the app and adding it back again. I made sure to copy all the files and savestates and I still have those. However, after I added the Rom back in the app again I wasn't able to get the save/savestate working. I tried renaming them and changing them with other savestates, but it didn't work. Have you any idea what I could do to get my progress back? I have now downloaded and installed batocera and want to transfer the save dates but obviously they don’t work as your video says. I want to convert the. But for each save there is an SV0 file (421kb), a SV0CRC file (1kb) and a SV0PIC FILE 150kb. Do I have to covert all three, 2 or just one? Thanks in advance

Trying to transfer a Retroarch save to Dolphin in Phantasy Star Online. When I go to Retroarch's saves, I can see the actual char save file(8P-GPOE-PSO_CHARACTER.gci). When I go to Dolphin, I don't get the same path/file system as the one in the video(C:\Users\"NAME"\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\GC\USA). I don't have a save folder under USA folder. I have a MemoryCardA.USA.raw file in the GC folder and can't see the actual save files. Maybe I create the MemoryCard in the wrong format...but it works as an actual save for the game though. I tried importing the save data from Retroarch to MemoryCardB in the Dolphin mem card manager, but for some reason it is not showing up a second memory card in the game, even though I have configured slot B as a memory card in Dolphin. I tried copying memcard onto B in mem card manager, which said that it worked, but the game only shows one mem card loaded. I also tried deleting the new character save on dolphin and import the old one in its place, but as soon as I opened the game, it stated that the file was corrupt and would have to be formatted/deleted. I have no clue where to go from here. I keep getting freezes in Retroarch with PSO. It's kinda rare, but you have to exit the game in order to save, so saves are far and few between...unless you exit the game a lot. I would like to transfer my char over to Dolphin.
I am trying to import a saved game into MyBoy Emulator for Pokemon, and Ive ensure it has saves as .sav, same as the emulator I am coming from. Yet when I put it in for the MyBoy folder same location it puts its saves - the saved game isnt appearing in the emulator. Any idea why? Anyone else have trouble bringing saves over to MyBoy?

It's kinda rare, but you have to exit the game in order to save, so saves are far and few between...unless you exit the game a lot. I would like to transfer my char over to Dolphin.
I am trying to import a saved game into MyBoy Emulator for Pokemon, and Ive ensure it has saves as .sav, same as the emulator I am coming from. Yet when I put it in for the MyBoy folder same location it puts its saves - the saved game isnt appearing in the emulator. Any idea why? Anyone else have trouble bringing saves over to MyBoy?

When I copied the srm file from retroarch for the "A Link To The Past" and copied, moved it to retroarch for windows. It would not show up. I tried so many different ways. It will not show up. I followed every step shown here.

Hello, on my android phone my emulator DS app kicked me out while i was playing pokemon black and when i opened the app again my save file was different and it was from another romhack i played, it said they couldnt find my old save file what should i do??
