- Our third listen to Nightwish gives us a third different sound. This one went hard. It's called "Romanticide" and had a few surprises for us.

In the space of roughly one year, Floor Jansen beat cancer, released a new album AND gave birth. This is no ordinary woman you are witnessing right there. This is a one-in-a-lifetime human being. A true Valkyrie Goddess.
Wow!
I concur
And a worldtour with Nightwish and a solo tour in Europe
Aside from being the perfect match for Floor on vocals, Marco also is playing a Warwick Buzzard bass, designed by John Entwistle, bassist for little known rock group called The Who……..
I first heard Floor on the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers (Best Singers) singing Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort and I fell in love with her voice. Then I heard her with Nightwish and fell in love with the band. Singer and band, my all-time favorites. 😄🤘
If Ghost Love Score is your current favourite, then you're gonna looove Greatest Show On Earth
Or Everdream ;D
or TPATP!
One of the most heard comment: "I wasn't expecting that." That's Night Wish for you ❤
The bassist is Marko Hietala. He is well loved, and respected, in Finland as one of the fathers of metal in that country. Marko has a great voice, as you are just beginning to see. If you want to see how he shines on his own, I would suggest that you divert a bit from the General's list and listen to the cover that Nightwish does of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes" from the End of an Era DVD. I admit that I am always particularly amazed by him when I watch him singing difficult melodies, all the while playing along on that bass. Me, I can't pat my head and rub my stomach at the same time.
LOL! Thankfully there isn't too much need to pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time. Appreciate this info.
@@CoachCastTV Yeah High Hopes is a song that he sings in its entirety and it's from a long time ago (2005/2006). When the original singer (Tarja) did a wardrobe change during a concert, they would do a cover during that time where Marko would sing. High Hopes is more than a cover though and Tuomas refers to it as a tribute to Pink Floyd.
Yes the List is not a prescription.
Also, While Your Lips are Still Red from Wembley 2015 and The Islander from Tampere 2015.
But High Hopes is the ultimate.
Also see my No 2, Song of Myself from this Wacken show.
The 1st time I heard him was with the 1sst singer doing Phantom of the Opera. I was blown away.@@NickBR57
Those are all great recommendations ( i especially love his emotional and sweet performance of While Your Lips are Still Red live at Wembley) but for me the best song Marko sings lead on is Endlessness from Human Nature. A beautifully composed song by Tuomas with very poetic lyrics beautifully sung by Marko. A song about living life to the fullest and then gracefully passing into the next unknown adventure. The visuals on the lyric video are a perfect fit to the lyrics. A fitting final song sung by Marko before leaving Nightwish. Never performed live and probably never will since Marko left before touring resumed post pandemic.
That is probably one of Emppu’s wildest solos. He never overplays. He does just what the song needs. That’s what makes him a great guitar master.🎸🤘 Floor’s banshee scream with Marko is incredible.
Yeah that scream was amazing.
Been to a few Nightwish shows and its an experience you wont forget .....such professional musicians they always sound great and you cant take you're eyes off Floor its impossible.
I can believe it - I only have the Blu-rays and RUclips (no live shows), but it's obvious that Floor is a very fascinating performer.
I'm sure I'd be entirely captivated if I got to a live show.
@@dazjackson1972 the new album will be out later this year unfortunately their not touring it not aleast for a few years but when they do come here ( U.S) make sure you see them , you won't regret it .
I somehow got lucky enough to see them a couple of years ago in a small venue and stand for 2 hours only 5 feet away from Floors microphone. It was crazy being that close to her. I’ve been to hundreds of concerts and have seen amazing shows but I’ll specifically never forget Floor performing 7 days to the Wolves that night. At the end of the song I just looked at the stranger beside me and we both were just like “WOW!” to each other.
The favorite song choice will change, more than any once. Guaranteed.
Please keep in mind that for the majority of this audience it was the very first time that they experienced Floor being Nightwish's front woman. The Wacken 2013 performance was at the very end of their Imaginaerum World Tour. Only 10 months before Wacken Floor joined the band when mid-tour in the Americas their actual lead singer Anette Olzon fell ill. So all 15 songs of this show were written for and originally performed by one of Floor's predecessors. Truth be told, Floor added her own twist to many of the songs, the best known example being of course the ending of Ghost Love Score. We keep reminding new reactors that in case they want to go back to the original studio version of any song from this Wacken concert they will be confronted with a different singer.
You're doing great folks; I love following your reactions.
Sending you the best wishes from the Dutch Mountains.
We truly appreciate you watching! More to come.
Greatest concert ever put to film. I wish I was there.
Their catalogue ranges from the slowest jazz song to heaviest metal diss song and everything in between, and they're equally great in all of them.
This is why the fandom is so proud.
Subscribed to your Nightwish journey.
Welcome aboard!
See? Emppu can shred if the song asks for it!
Kind and welcoming is a great way to describe the Nightwish fan base.I think most of us are just thrilled to introduce new people to such an incredible band.
Marko actually won "Masked Singer" here in Finland a couple of years past. He had to essentially learn to sing again from scratch after a botched throat surgery in the late 90s so his oldest and newer material sound fairly different.
Floor is now closing in on her 12th year with the band, longer than either of the other 2 vocalists - Floor was born to be on stage and her on stage performances with her first 2 bands, After Forever and Revamp are also incredible - it really was a no-brainer when Tuomas called Floor in early October of 2012 to ask her to hop a plane to LA and to learn the set list in 48 hours (15 songs)
The stank face he made during the vocal slide, priceless! HEHE! 🤘🏻
Floor will soon be completing her enchantment of you with "Everdream". 😀 🤘
Oh there will be a surprise in that one. ;) Can't wait for you to see/hear that. :D
Floor was Introduced on THIS Concert as New Lead Singer by Marco after Song 2 (I whish i had an Angel). And every Time i see this, I get Tears in my Eyes.PS: Look the First Song of this Concert as Next. (Dark Chest of Wonders).
As for Marko, I would more recommend doing a reaction of the song titled "Nightwish - While Your Lips Are Still Red (Live at Wembley Arena)"
The Nighwish fanbase is *very* inclusive. If you'd go to a concert, you'd feel yourself surrounded by friends of all ages and backgrounds and you'd certainly have a good time. Been, there, done that. 🙂
We're not surprised. Thanks for confirming.
I will be 60 years old later this year and have been attending gigs since my first gig back in 1979. Along with David Bowie, Nightwish is in my top 2 gigs of all time. Both were more than just concerts, they were an experience! Great reaction. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️
Can’t wait for your introduction to Troy the multi instrumentalist to take their sound to another dimension 😊
An absolute banger from start to finish!!!
When you rub the magic lamp of Nightwish and Floor, I will appear. I have watched hundreds if not a thousand reactions to them in the 2 years since I discovered Nightwish. They are not a band, they are an experience. I am 67 in a couple of weeks and grew up with the great music from the 60s and 70s. Didn't listen to much after that but Nightwish and more recently The Warning have re-ignited my joy of music. Both are passionate doing what they do, connect with their fans and give everything on the stage. Love your reactions. Cheers, Rich from Australia
We appreciate you. We have The Warning coming in a couple days.
If you like this, you should Watch Floor with epica-sancta terra
And offcourse Floor in her old band: after forever.
Priceless Reaction😉Love it. Nightwish with Floooor forever🤘Best Band EVER
Hiya, Mrs and Mr Coach. You just experienced Nightwish with one of their heaviest songs. And you now heard Marko really for the first time. He has a truly amazing voice, he is extremely versatile as well, and he blends so perfect with Floor. Their harmonization in some songs is just stunning. And he shines not only with the gritty stuff like here. Watch him performing much more softly and folky in 'The Islander' (Preferably Live in Tampere 2015). He will leave you speechless. Sadly, he decided to leave Nightwish in 2021 and he is truly missed...
Great reaction, as always, and have a great🥚easter 🥚weekend. 🤘🤘🤘
Greetings from Germany, Prog O'Holic
Happy Easter to you also! Sorry to hear he left the group.
@@CoachCastTV It is very sad that Marco left but he was having a bit of a bad time with mental health and the whole rip-off scene of the music industry. For once Marko could let rip with his voice with Floor's similar power, and the two do make for some magnificant vocals.
There are many interviews with Marko, he is a very intelligent and deep thinking person.
His letter of resignation is on the net go Google "marko hietala resignation letter" it's on the official Nightwish web site, I cannot link it as YT will suppress that I believe.
@@CoachCastTV To be fair, he didn't leave because of any internal band issues. From what I've seen, he said he left for his mental health more due to a combination of issues from 30+ years of touring, dealing with the music industry, and the pandemic. He mostly stopped performing for awhile, only doing a few things here and there like a holiday event for Charity. In the last couple years he has performed a bit more often, but still not touring full time like he used to.
@@RokNDragon Hopefully he's feeling much better now and it's good to hear that there were not internal issues with the band.
I say it all the time. Nightwish is like a box of chocolates......You never know what you're gonna get.
This venue (Wacken, pronounced 'vocken') in Germany was concert #64 in the tour and Floor had only been with them for 10 months, officially being named the permanent singer a few months after this.
A in Wacken is not O. It is pronounced like "u" in word puck or tuck. At least that is how German people I have heard says it and would make sense based on my German studies.
One of My Favorites. BUT ,it gets even better.🐭 Enjoy the Ride.....
Oh boy... and KNOWING this is just the beginning of your journey!!! Hold on tight! Can`t wait for you to experience the masterpieces!
Yep. Nightwish is unbelievable in the power of their performances and in how many differences they put into all of their music. Another fantastic reaction by both of you. Keep them coming.
Thanks! We appreciate you!
Every song is diffrent.
They are Magnetically superb. 😊 ❤
one of the best nights I had...
Yea, Nightwish is something else!
With Nightwish there's a song for every emotion and every mood. This is JUST the start for you two. Plenty of greatness to come - in all forms. And we out here are loving the ride.
Nightwish Army Canadian Shield division reporting for duty.
Edit: I saw them live a couple of years back in a small venue standing in front of Floor who was 5 feet away and about 11 feet tall from my point of view for 2 hours. She melted my face off. She and the band were amazing.
That's awesome!
OK, Mrs. Coach's understated enjoyment was just ADORABLE.
Epicness right there on that stage 🙏😊👍❤️
Saw them in concert, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It was like being inside joy itself.
As others here before me are saying, Marko is a great vocalist in his own right. I think one of his best performances is with Tarja as lead, singing The Phantom of the Opera. Fantastic display of vocal power from both of them.
You are right. Marko is is an excellent singer - he was a true asset to Nightwish, such a shame he's gone now.
The beard growing gets my vote!
LOL, thanks!
Youngins up front, us older folks in the back,, in our wheel chairs...
loved your reaction when the Bassplayer started to sing. his name is Marko Hietala..if you want to hear him "solo"then check out "the Islander" or "While your lips are still red". beautiful songs, awesome voice.. check out also "High hopes" a tribute to Pink floyd...this one is amazing too. greets from the NW Army in the Netherlands.
Third! Didn't you just love it!
So many to look forward to.
Floor is a self-confessed vocal nerd, she knows how to get the most out of the song.
Hi Coach!!!!!!
I'm Wolfi from Germany and I've been a Nightwish fan since 1996 and I was in Wacken in 2013.
I have already seen Nightwish live 28 times and always had a good time. I have seen all Nightwish singers live and in my personal opinion this line-up of Nightwish was absolutely the best. I hope you hear Nightwisch live at some point and have a good time:-)))
Greetings from Germany and have fun with Nightwish Wolfi
Hey there! Thanks for the comment. Amazing that you have seen them so many times! 🤘😁
Wait til you hear him sing the phantom of the opera, I want my tears back, while your lips are still red, and ever dream
Another of one of my favorite songs. Heavy and great drums
Marco and Floor have amazing harmonies, voice battles, etc. and when they do the Heavy Christmas aka Raskata Juolua together the audience is very likely to shed tears.
One of the heavier Nightwish numbers.......but......all their songs are very lisenable t all non metal heads ........no grunge stuff. Love your reactions
Thanks!
Although Floor could and did in bands before Nightwish.
Yeah, there are a few songs non-metal-heads, like me, needed to adjust to first. "Romanticide", from their Wacken 2013 live-DVD, was one of them, "Devil & Deep Dark Ocean", which I first heard live in concert, was another candidate. Today I won't miss any of them yet. Floor is making it easy to any first time listeners as she always delivers, regardless what kind of song it will be.
@@MacZussie you have taken the thoughts out of my head. I’ve always been a classical metal head since before my teens. Listened to the likes of Deep Purple Led Zeppelin and followed by Judas Priest ACDC Heart etc.
Nothing hit me emotionally like Nightwish did four years ago when I listen to them for the first time. I think it was the Thomas / Floor combination that made the
magic. I went with my wife to Gelsinkirchen Germany in June last year to watch them live. Now my wife is no metal fan……but she kinda liked the Nightwish material. The kicker. She cried with two songs Floor sang on stage. That’s the impact the Valkyrie queen has with her audience. Enjoy you Easter 🐣
The fact is that she was brand new
90 % of the people here that night doesn't know her
But litteraly falled in love
And the rest is history...................
Floor has taken the live performances to another level. This does not reflect against the previous singers as they both have their fans but neither have her versatility or stage presence.
Arkansas Division here. Atta boy Coach, looks like your bewildered stank eye means you've entered the rabbit hole to where there's no turnin' back. Nightwish is just good old fashioned F U N. You two have no idea what's ahead of you. We all know, some of the best music you've ever heard. Thanks for bring us along on your journey. This is gonna be a good one. Enjoy the ride.
Thanks. We appreciate you coming along!
Welcome to the Nightwish army! ❤️
The 2 faces explains it all 😁 this band is gonna twist y’all in directions. But it all comes back as how great they are! No North American music scene will ever produce a band nor music like Nightwish. Born and raised up here 🇨🇦, NW stands alone which makes them so diverse and intriguing band out there.
Also to mention, you’ll find the songs get better and better as you listen to them multiple times. The music is so bombastic to hear ever layered detail that the keyboardist Tuomas writes. I still get blown away hearing a song for hundredth time……They’re something else I must say
🇬🇧 Norfolk reports for duty 😊 let’s go,Mrs coach will love it
The best band i have seen live, and Floor is our Dutch metalqueen. Great fan of her, known her already as singer in her former bands Revamp and After forever.
How important Floor is for NW says Tuomas Holopainen, founder, main composer and keyboarder in an interview some years ago: "... if Floor sometimes decides to leave the band it will definetly be the end of Nightwish!"
And her response to that was... they have to drag me avay.
'sometimes you know when you are at home. NWA Sweden.
I think their voices are great together. For that reason I personally recommend "while your lips are still red" (Live at Wembley Arena) a great ballad where they sing together and also "I wish I had an angel" (Wacken 2013).
Another great ballad is "Sleeping Sun" (Live In Tampere, Finland) 2015, in which her voice is so gentle and smooth. And the list is endless: Nemo (wacken 2013), Poet and the Pendulum (in which her voice in some parts is truly sublime) and many many more
Thank you from the UK for your reaction. Like you was introduced to Nightwish via a reaction channel about five years ago. You are on a journey
20 years worth, and we're here for the journey
We're happy to have you!
Every time I hear this song it sends shivers down my spine. By the way, the bass player is called Marco, born as Marko Tapani Hietala (born January 14, 1966 Tervo), is a Finnish metal artist. Hietala is best known for the symphonic metal band Nightwish, of which he was bassist and singer from 2001 to early 2021. Hietala is also a singer, bassist and songwriter in the Finnish band Tarot. He has also played with the bands Sinergy, Northern Kings, Conquest and the cover band Metal Gods. Recently he performed several times again together with Tarja Turunen, Nightwish's original and 1st singer. (this had not happened since the break with her in 2005, with the exception of the Raskasta Joulua of 2017 where both had a guest appearance).
Hietala has been playing guitar and bass guitar since he was 12. He studied classical guitar, singing and music theory at a university for three years. He then studied bass guitar and music theory at a conservatory for another two years. he is a real viking and at the same time has the appearance of a Scottish highlander (he wore a metal black leather kilt during the 2018 WACKEN concert).
This song is sung so visually that you would almost believe that Floor and Marko are dealing with a serious breakup. Romanticide; the destruction of your romance. Who hasn't ruined once his relationship with their stupid acts? With stupid behavior and white lies, but what damages the trust between lovers? (OD of lies = Overdose of lies)
Funny, I'm looking forward to seeing you post a movie screenshot of your American General, LOL!
We don't endorse the company (never used them) but here is the link to "The General" that we referenced: www.thegeneral.com/
Thanks for the info and great comment!
N E USA division reporting. It just keeps just getting better. Floor is just a beast 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Strong strong voices from both singers. Great song.. Greetings from nwAse Sweden
Whoop! Love this group and so happy you are on the Nightwish trip! I am watching for the next one! Thank you for feeding my need today! NWA Canada got your back folks!
We appreciate you!
So glad you are continuing to discover more of Nightwish!!! Along for your journey:-)
We appreciate you!
Thank you for the reactions.
Please continue with Nightwish every once in awhile :).
We definitely will!
I am extremely proud of this band beeing a finn and all. Great reaction. Cant wait for the next one. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.🎉
That was different and that’s my favorite , are two words that we hear a lot. Well… it’s true. Every song is different, and every next song is our favorite. Greetings from Alabama 😎
I say go for it with the beard !!
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 well done again And I will certainly stand by your reactions, and I think others will too! 💋👍🏻 And there will be so many more beautiful things to come in the coming years, because it is 2013, so you still have a lot to go
Thank you so much!
Marko is also the longtime vocalist and bassist for Finnish power metal band Tarot (featuring his brother Zachary Hietala on guitar), and has a solo project as well. At some point you'll definitely want to check out "Phantom of the Opera" from Nightwish's "End of An Era" show. Not only is it a great introduction to Nightwish's original singer Tarja Turunen, her duet with Marko in that performance is one of the best in rock history.
Fantastic reaction. I'm loving your journey down the Nightwish rabbit hole.
Thank you so much!
Love the reactions.....all this love n you're yet to meet Troy.......
Another great reaction, Mr and Mrs CC 👍 Next one - 'Song Of Myself' from the same concert. It'll blow your socks off!
Thanks!
This is my favorite song off them ,greetings from Benjamin from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
This being the same concert (Wacken 2013) , I am just blown away by how they have that much energy and can keep up the momentum! Every artist on that stage is an amazing talent, and they compliment and respect each other during every performance. I’ve said this often, but I wish they would’ve had a camera on Jukka for an entire song, so that I could watch him. His movements are SO graceful and fluid at times, and downright violent at others! 😳 He is epic on percussion, and it’s as if you are watching a beautiful heartfelt ballet. Well, they are actually all similar in their own right, but I am blown away watching Jukka. And BTW, Coach, …your reaction expressions are priceless! Mrs. Coach, I do understand your watching “Ghost Love Score” numerous times, as I have lost count how many times I’ve viewed that particular video! Thank you both for doing an amazing job. Hubby and I are enjoying you. Glad we joined YOUR army of fans!
We are so thankful for your kind comments. And yes, Coach's feelings are always written on his face. 😁
Saw them at Wembley 2022 (after a looong wait), and yes it's an awesome experience! If you ever get the DVD of the Wacken concert "Showtime, Storytime" (which I recommend) you'll hear Marko's amusing little story introducing this song. It's a shame they don't include it with the official YT video IMO!
🇫🇮❤you for entertaining us with this song that deals with disillusionment, heartbreak, and the destructive nature of love. The lyrics depict a sense of emotional detachment and a feeling of being misunderstood by others. The opening lines, "God-love and rest my soul, with this sundown never-ending, the feel is gone yet you ain’t gonna see me fail," suggest a loss of faith and a willingness to defy societal expectations.
P.S. When their first female vocalist was let go in 2005, Tuomas wanted to replace her with Floor, but she was unfortunately in a band already, so Tuomas & the others had over 2000 females compete for that position, and finally Anette Olzon was chosen as Tarja's replacement. After that it took several years before Floor was free to replace Anette while the band was touring the U.S. and Anette got really sick. Floor had only 48 hours to learn the band's entire set list of 15 songs.
Scottish Divsion checking in........well!...it is not a gig or a concert, it is a total experience.you go in expecting and you get it!...energy,adrenalin and endorphins all kick in almost like your total fix, film score, concert, adventure it is it all!.....it all ends too soon and you just WOW ! and slowly breath again!..............noticed your good ladies jaw slightly drop when Marco started singing, then a twinkle in her eyes and a smile a moment later!...methinks Marco has a new fan!.....play your cards right and yoy might get that beard!...haha
🤣😝
Nice reaction!
É muita energia que Floor coloca nos vocais, deste show, acho que Ever Dream é onde ela junto com Marko superam , ela ao final cantando cada vez mais e mais alto.
Awesome! Mrs. Coach is pretty much free-falling down the NW rabbit hole 😁
Absolutely!!
This is a heavy one glad you liked it 🤘❤️
Well, Marko reminds me of Gandalf the Grey and his skills (playing AND singing) are phenomenal. You should definitely check out High Hopes, a stunning tribute by Nightwish to the song by Pink Floyd.
At the end was a 3 octave glissando by Floor, done in tandem with Marko. The song is from 2004 album ,Once, same record as GLS, Tarja era. The studio version only had Marko's 2 octave slide. One of the heavier songs overall, it's about a romance that has died, time to move on.
Yes, Marko has an awesome voice. With Nightwish , he sang a lot of backing and co-lead, and a few lead vocal songs, including the cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's High Hopes (Helsinki 2005, End of an Era DVD), and The Islander (Tampere 2015). He was lead singer in his first band, Tarot. He has some solo work, including an album in 2020. Has collaborated with quite a few, and is part of a supergroup called Northern Kings.
Marko has sung with all 3 NW lead singers, and sounded great doing it. Unfortunately , he decided to leave the band in 2021, for personal reasons, after 2 decades.( He joined in 2001, replacing Sami Vanska. Jukka Koskinen is the bassist today)
Good info. Thanks for sharing.
This is the way.
👍
Thanks for doing another song from Nightwish again. And your faces when Marco did start to sing and the high note from them both. Great reaction. And waiting for the next one 🤘
Appreciate you spending time with us!
Can’t wait for you to react to “Song Of Myself” from this same concert.
It’s interesting. Every reaction video I’ve seen when it gets to the end of Emppu’s solo people laugh at the blowup guitar in the audience but I get a chuckle out of his face as he bends the note down.😊
I think your comment about liking each song in a different way is a perfect way to describe their music. They bring so many styles, sounds, feelings and each song will bring something to somebody.
Great comment. We can already tell they can be very versatile.
After you have explored Nightwish for a while, hope you will check out some of Floor's solo releases and appearances. I know you will love those...
Hello from Greece. As a Nightwish fan from my heart thank you for your comments and reaction. Hope you are doing well and see you soon. ❤
Thank you! You too!
Hello Mr & Mrs Coach, greetings from UK
That was another great reaction, thank you 😊
This is one of their heaviest songs and is about the breakdown of a relationship to the point where they end up screaming at each other 😉
Yeah, this one was fantastic! We appreciate you watching!
Now how did you like that ? 😂😂😂😂 have a "very" nice ride down the rabbit hole. Greetings from the Netherlands!!!
Great reaction once again! You can hear more Marko in Everdream. His voice is also magic! Suits so perfectly with Floor’s voice!
Great reaction, love the look on y'all's face, y'all have a beautiful journey ahead of you. Kinda makes me jealous, because I remember the first time I heard these songs. And I was just like y'all. Just dumb founded, couldn't believe what I was hearing, and why haven't I heard of them before. Lots of beautiful songs ahead enjoy.
More please.
Thank you so much!
I have to thank you the quality of the sound in your reactions .. ♥
Thanks. Did a lot of research on which mic to choose...we've been pleased with it. And the PC has a nice soundcard.
Seeing NW live is, as expected, an amazing experience. For movies and concerts, I usually go in with little to no expectations, but for obvious reasons, my expectations before seeing NW were extremely high. They somehow managed to completely exceed those expectations. You may think you are prepared, but until you are in that crowd, you cannot comprehend the emotions and awe. I have been to over 200 live shows (mostly large stadium concerts with major bands) and NW is easily one of the best shows I have seen. I have it just behind Pink Floyd as my favorite concert experience. PF get the nod because of their amazing sound quality and over the top light shows. In addition, Floor's stage presence and charisma are otherworldly. The only person I saw live with more charisma is David Bowie. That's some seriously good company.
We can tell the crowd seems to be having a great time. 👍
Marko aka the Viking. 😊
Ma'am, you have good taste.
Ghost Love Score is still my favourite ❤.
Hail the Goddess 😇
Marko Hietala is an extraordinary singer. He has sung many songs with Nightwish. Three stand out for me: "The Phantom Of the Opera" with Tarja, the band's original singer, the Pink Floyd tribute "High Hopes" and "The islander" in Tampere, Finland.
PS. Instead of saying the General's list, you can simply say Gabriel's list.
Keep on going!!!!!👍👍👍
Greetings from 🇫🇮
Tuomas writes the words (well, nearly all of them), but Floor sings them like they come from her very soul - and you believe what she sings - she takes Tuomas' thoughts and beliefs and makes them real - I have never seen a better synergy between lyricist and singer ever, and I've been around a good while - and when you get to The Poet and the Pendulum (on the General's list) you will appreciate how empathic she is - oh, and have a box of tissues handy.....
Agreed, I'll add Elton John and Bernie Taupin to the list of singers and lyricist.
Yep - that's a valid point - in the fact that Bernie writes the lyrics and then Elton puts the music to them - they have certainly come up with some great songs - but does Elton's singing match Floor's in terms of bringing out the soul of the song? Believe me, as a lyricist myself, I have nothing but admiration for Bernie's contributions over the years, but I have never come across someone who can put so much feeling into a vocal as Floor.
