If you think this song is heavy, you need to hear the next song on that album "Queen of the Murder Scene"(title tract of the album) ! 😁👍 Also, Pau has said they tried several ways to make the song longer, but none of them sounded right. So, if you still think the song is too short, she says to hit the "replay" button.

This is from the Queen Of The Murder Scene album, which is a concept album with a prologue and 4 chapters of 3 songs, with a continuing story of descent into madness and murder.
I only recently discovered The Warning, myself. I can't remember the last time I fell so instantly in love with a band - they're truly amazing! The album this song is from - _Queen of the Murder Scene_ - has very quickly become one of my favorite concept albums of all time. Not a single bad song on it, and the story it tells is wonderfully morbid!
You sound exactly like me from 4 months ago. Since then I've seen them live twice, met them, joined their patreon and discord, got them on a local radio station rotation, and tell anyone who'll listen about them 🤣 Welcome to The Warning! Awesome band and an awesome community to go with it!
Discovered them about 8 months ago, and I've been obsessed with them ever since. QOTMS is now one of my favorite albums, and I actually got to see live them live for the first time last week. It's crazy how quickly they've become one of my favorite bands.

Oh my, this song is KILLER live on tour.
Ale (bassist) turns 18 tomorrow (the 13th) so she was only 15 in this video. Pau was 18 and Dany 20.
"Expecting the end not to be the end." They get that a lot! But, it isn't "the end". Dull Knives is part of their second album which is a concept album called Queen of the Murder Scene. It's a masterpiece they wrote when they were all still teenagers. You should check out the whole album.

So excited to see you came back to these amazing sisters. Yes the #1 complaint is that it's too short. They said they tried to make it longer but it didn't sound right, so just listen twice. The bass is always THUNDERING. and Ale the bass player just turns 18 tomorrow. Thanks so much.

When they played this opening for Foo Fighters, it was thundering through the stadium. I cannot lie, I got a bit emotional. It is such a huge sounding song live.

I do not know how many views Cobra Spell has. Also Cobra Spell 32 original songs (as far as I can find) The Warning 45 original songs. So as I see it, it should be….. Cobra Spell opening for The Warning.
Of course I am also bias considering I have been following The Warning for well over 7 years.

This might be deemed a 'kickass performance' haha. Part of a virtual charity concert that Halestorm was also involved with, this was evidently the only performance that was shown twice (perhaps due to viewer request?). Lzzy Hale saw it and said these ladies have gotta tour with us! That happened this year. Love seeing you love The Warning! Great reaction lotsa fun.🤘👍👏

I love the energy of this performance and I particularly like how Ale snarls as she kills that backing vocal.
Lzzy Hale of Halestorm Saw this Video of The Warning, this video was from a Show on Spotify called De(Tour) it had bands that had to Cancel Tours in 2020 because of Covid and when Lzzy saw this video she Twitted that She wanted to Go on Tour with The Warning, and this past Summer it happened, The Warning went on Tour with Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, and Lilith Czar, and in Irving Texas when The Warning were playing after a song Dany would switch Guitars, So her Guitar Tech came and Took her Guitar but didn't give Dany another Guitar so Dany is Standing on Stage With No Guitar then Lzzy come from Back Stage and gets on one Knee and Hands Dany a Brand New Gibson Explorer Guitar.
So excited to see you so excited! This is indeed a great rock song. There are some videos from a few years ago where they were trying out this song live before they recorded it for the "Queen of the Murder Scene" album. Now this song is a must see live, it really energizes the crowd!🔥🤘

This is certainly one of my favorite songs. It's truly a compact gem of a headbanger; as others have noted, a lot of people around them thought the song was too short, so they tried adding some things, decided that all of them made it worse, and stuck to their guns and advised people to play it again. I suggest you try Queen of the Murder Scene (next song on the album). It's even heavier, if anything. I've seen it live once (the other concert I've been to they picked another song from the album, Ugh, which is actually fairly heavy itself). The opening hits like a tank. It has a fairly long guitar solo, but I've seen bassists say that the bass part is very complex. I've observed that on Z (another song with a technical guitar solo) that the bass part gets significantly more complex during the solo; Ale's playing something that to my untrained ear sounds like a hybrid rhythm guitar/bass line while the drums fill in, making for a dense sound even during a solo.
Speaking of Ale on bass, she just turned 18 today.
Dany hams this song up on stage now. She plays just the opening note and stops. She'll often repeat it several times, and sometimes if the reaction isn't what she wants she'll shake her head, sometimes wag her finger at the crowd, do it once or twice more, and they'll finally launch into the song. She was even doing this on support concerts; at their recent tour supporting Three Days Grace, there were enough of their fans in the crowd that people knew what was coming.
Check out copper bullets at the Dakota 2018 they absolutely killed it one of there best songs from there 21st century album its very heavy
Awesome reaction! I love when reactors get super excited for the music they are hearing. They put on a really great show during this concert, and especially during this song they were all very expressive. They are just so badass! The song is of course a total banger, it's part of their regular set during shows and the crowd goes absolutely wild.

This is probably my favorite live-ish video of them, just because of the sound quality and the fact that it's just one of my favorite songs of theirs in general.
Do you know a Japanese all-female rock band called "Band-Maid"? They're friends with The Warning and have significant overlap in their fanbases. If you don't know them, I'd recommend the official live version of "Domination." (An original song, not a Pantera cover; incidentally, I remember discovering you years ago with your Pantera covers, and I'm glad to see you discovering and promoting great young artists like these)

Awesome reaction 🤘🏽 others have mentioned Lzzy Hale loving this. The bass Ale is playing was "loaned" to her by a European fan so she could get used to playing a 5 string bass. That same fan gifted Ale her first 2 Spector Bass as well, and she loved them ever since ⚡🤘🏽
Rumor has it that the EU fan is really from the USA and that he ended up giving Ale the tan Spector 5-string. Some say he’s also folicularly challenged. Then again, don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. Cheers mate

I've listened to that song maybe twenty times just to hear that strong bass line. Also, there are a handful of videos that show Ale practicing, and they are mind boggling. The bass lines that you've heard so far in their songs don't even challenge her.

The number one criticism of Warning songs is “it’s too short!” TW said they tried to make it longer, but it became terrible trying to prolong it. You have fallen into the trap of saying that your favorite Warning song is the last one you heard.

The Warning really is a great band, they play sooo well together. It’s really special that they are sisters but they each gravitated to their own instruments. I too love the bass lines, you really hear that bass rumble coming through the mix and makes it sound heavier I think 😀👏

You should react to another band that The Warning is friends with: BAND-MAID. They recently met during a festival and were discussing playing together sometime soon. It's an amazing all female hard rock band from Japan. I think you will enjoy it a lot! Check out songs such as Dice, Warning!, Unleash!!!!!, Blooming, Rinne, etc. They have over 100 songs in their catalog and they rarely disappoint! Cheers!

This song is part of their concept album "Queen of the Murder Scene," so it is appropriately short as it leads perfectly into the next song "Queen of the Murder Scene." The album is about the descent of a woman into madness in her quest for "true love." Notice how Dull Knives (Cut Better) is constructed almost like the last gasp of unrequited love. The song fits so well with the journey described in the album especially because it feels too short. We are, like the protagonist, left reaching for more without achieving satisfaction.
Sounds great it could have a dual guitar solo just before the end to give it more length to the song, but it is really good i think!

Noelle, did you ever check out Dany singing Painkiller with Three Days Grace(Kitchener, ON is my favorite)? Mind Blown. This band has way too much talent not to get where they want to be. Other bands that they play with seem to love them too..they just spent the week in Nashville and stayed at Lzzy Hales house. 😉

It is too short because it is so good. As stated by others, they tried another verse and every time it just pulled the song down. This is also one track of 13 on their concept album " Queen of the Murder Scene" So short and sweet was part of the goal also.
The cover of Metallica's Enter sandman they did was great but 8 years later they were invited by Metallica to make a new version of that song, and the new version they created was awesome too. I strongly recommend you to search it and enjoy it.
