"Dull Knives," a part of the story told in their concept album "Queen Of The Murder Scene" is about a woman who goes from infatuation to obsession, stalking, murder, and madness, and ends with suicide. All are written and performed by pre-teens and teenagers, the album is incredible. They did perform the entire thing in order at their Lunario Metropolitan CDMX concert in 2018. You should do a live stream of the entire show. If you do and let The Warning Army know a week in advance, I guarantee that we will show up in droves. Keep on rockin'

This, too short, performance was part of an on-line concert. This song caught the eye of Lzzy Hale , who was also part of the concert. Based on this performance, Lzzy suggested they tour together, which they did. The guitar Dany is playing is a Rick Toone “Spearfish” a luthier and early supporter of The Warning.
Another small bit of info is that, if I'm remembering this right, TW were actually asked by other performers if they could do another song at the end of the concert because everyone loved them so much. I don't remember which song they played though!
A couple small things, the bass Ale is using was not her bass teacher's but from a super generous fan that had gotten Ale into Spector bases a couple years before by gifting her a pair of Euro IV's, one white and on Rachel Bolan's Signature bass. She was using the loaner while her custom Spector USA NS-5XL was being constructed (Which she received in Sept of 2020 while they stayed in New Jersey to record their album Error). Dany and Ale are endorsed by Orange Amps, Dany travels/tours with a Orange Pedal Baby 100 amp and a Mesa/Boogie cab while Ale only uses an Orange Amp in her home setup and travel's/tours with a Mesa/Boogie amp and cab. Dany is endorsed by PRS and has three beautiful PRS guitars, she is also endorsed by Rick Toone Luthier and has two Spearfish guitars an original with sunburst finish and a Moby Dick model (the one in this video) with the natural beechwood finish. These are not your normal guitar, the incorporate a solid aluminum neck that cam be detached for easy transport while keeping the guitar in tune. They also include custom electronics with an active pre-amp and fanned frets. These are not cheap guitars and come in at around $10,000 each. She also has a Fender Acoustisonic Strat, custom yellow Manson Guitar Works (presented to her by Muse front man and Manson Guitar Works owner Matt Bellamy), a custom white Gibson Explorer that was hunted down and customized (by Gibson to Dany's specs given to Lzzy by Dany's guitar tech) by Lzzy Hale and gifted to Dany during a show while touring with Halestorm in the summer of 2022. Dany uses a Kemper pedalboard that is triggered by midi through Ableton Live running on Pau's laptop but Dany still controls the effects throughout the song. If you listen very closely in a lot of songs by The Warning especially on the Queen of the Murder Scene album (where this song is from) you can hear a whisper track going along with the main vocal, that's Pau. if you have the volume down and aren't really paying attention it looks like she's lip synching but she's actually whispering the lyrics WHILE playing drums. Yes Ale does not like to sing lead vocals she is comfortable singing backing vocals though and they do not sink anybody inthe mix unless the song calls for it.

Pau will often be seen mouthing the words along with Dany. I think she said in an interview or a vlog somewhere that it helps her stay zeroed in the timing. Plus she's just into the song.
If you listen closely, you can hear Pau whispering the lines, not just mouthing. With one of the themes of the album of this being losing sanity and fracturing personality, I feel it is done very deliberately.
And she sometimes is called on to sing lead, when Dany's voice is strained or tired. She has also helped Dany when Dany forgets a lyric. It doesn't happen often, but she always looks to Ale. And Pau will jump in to help Dany, mid lyric. Sibling magic. Ale is more aggressive vocally in the past year. I can't wait to see if she has a bigger vocal presence in the new album!
I think I saw Ale joke one time that they have to kill Pau's mic when she is not officially singing because she continues to belt it out right along with Dany.

You have to listen closely to hear Pau's vocal here. What she is doing is whispering loudly, like an echo of what Dany is singing. On the studio recording of this song it creates an eerie, creepy effect.

This was for an online event called De(Tour) to raise money to save small venues during the pandemic, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm was on the same show and saw their performance, and this convinced that she wanted them to open her next tour.

It's easy to see how great musicians and performers they are but what's most impressive to me is just how good song writers and lyricists they are. Even from the first album and especially since the second one. Also who makes a concept album as their second album when you're essentially still just kids?

Because Pau uses to sing o make noises all the time. Their engineer have to mute / unmute Pau´s mic all along their shows. Pau is whispering along with the lyrics. That's why her mouth is moving but you can't hear anything. Every once in a while you can hear her, but it's more for effect than to be heard outright.

That Alum necked Rick Toone Luthier has a nice tone to it, and the sustain was great with the setup Dany had. It uses a single 6 way slide switch for the pick up control, which was easy to use while playing. The PRS she uses now has 2 switches for 8 way pickup control, plus she added another switch for the LED fret marker lights. Same with Ale's Spector 5 string. Orange amps are sponsors, and using them warm Tubes will always have a special place in Rock music. I love them as well. They do have some gear run down videos made in the past, and are a great watch. The pedal boards have changed up since, but they always had great setups. Pau is strictly a Roland/DW user, but is not sponsored by them.........Yet. Sabian is tho.🤘
Ale is definitely more comfortable as a backing vocalist and does a phenomenal job. It's singing lead where she is not so comfortable. She'll do it in a pinch, but overall, taking the lead on a song is just not her cup of tea. Fans always get excited when she gets a small lead part in a song, such as 'Choke' when performed live.
Dany had/has at least three guitars from luthier Rick Toone, I believe this one is a Spearfish. It seems that once she picked up a PRS there was no going back.
Rudy wanted more from all their sponsors, and informed Rick he was actively searching out for more. PRS being a much larger company, was able to give an offer that met Rudy's wants for her. He informed Rick of it, and he couldn't match PRS, and the rest is history.

This is my entry into discovering the Warning and the 3 rock n roll hurricanes (Dany, Pau, and Ale) during the shutdown. This is my favorite song both recorded and live. Such a rock n roll banger! Have seen them live twice and can't wait for the next one!
Dany is playing a custom Rick Toon Spearfish it has frets specially designed to fit her hand so her fretting becomes more precise. It has a very distinct tone and she got it in 2017 as a gift from Rick Toon. This was when Pau had her Goth/Emo period, she has white in her black hair.
Dany's red PRS is a USA Custom 24-08 with the 8 tone settings, the blue one (and the black one which I haven't seen for a while) are both USA Custom 24s. The Manson is an ORYX VI in a Mustard Yellow color special made for Dany and presented by one of her idols Matt Bellamy. The white Gibson Explorer was presented to her by another idol Lzzy Hale. Greetings from Denmark - and in anticipation for more TW reactions, you've gained a new subscriber. It seems to me Ale has become more prominent in the mixes the past 6 months. She looked very confident to me when she was a kid, then maybe more shy (not on stage) while teenager, but guys, she will surprise you later.
After a while you'll grow accustomed to picking out their voices. Ale almost always does the low harmonies and Pau the high. Also, if you listen closely, you'll notice that Ale's voice is panned to the left, Pau to the right, and Dany the middle (except when Pau sings lead), just like their stage formation. Sidenote: Pau often mouths the words (she's the primary lyricist) when she's not actually singing her parts. She's also ready at a moment's notice to take over if Dany needs help because she sometimes forgets the words.
@musikbyjh Fanned frets are needed when each string has a different length. Lower notes sound better on longer strings, while the longer strings also don't have to be as thick. Also, the more strings there are on a guitar, the wider the pitch range between the lowest and highest note strings, so the more useful it is to optimize lower note vs higher note string lengths.
Glad your starting down TW rabbit hole. You should go back further to something like their TEDx video or their show at The Whiskey in 2017. Anyway Dany is playing a Rick Toon spearfish. And many times Pau lip syncs along with the song (just showing passion).
A bit on that part about not being able to hear Pau singing with Dany.. Pau is doing a breathy whisper underneath Dany’s vocals. It goes along with split personality’s in the storyline of the song/album

You don't hear Pau singing the verse because she is whispering, you can hear the whisper louder on the album track. This is one of my favorites, they go so hard!!

Pau mouths the words, quite often, while Dany is singing. Pau was not singing during the parts when you thought she was. "Dull Knives" only has Pau and Ale during the pre chorus and chorus. Just FYI
Rick Toone could not provide financial sponsorship to the band. Dany loved his guitars. PSR came by with money and other perks so she made the tough decision to switch. Gibson wants her in the worst way but she will not sign with them because they want her to play only Gibson. At a show recently she used 6 guitars. 3PRS, Gibson ,Manson, Fender
C'mon guys, if you know anything about drummer, we're a strange bunch and will make all kinds of wierd facial expressions and do things with our body parts to keep time...Pau mouths the words to many of the songs even when she's not singing. 🤣

This is my entry into discovering the Warning and the 3 rock n roll hurricanes (Dany, Pau, and Ale) during the shutdown. This is my favorite song both recorded and live. Such a rock n roll banger! Have seen them live twice and can't wait for the next one!

Dany is playing a custom Rick Toon Spearfish it has frets specially designed to fit her hand so her fretting becomes more precise. It has a very distinct tone and she got it in 2017 as a gift from Rick Toon. This was when Pau had her Goth/Emo period, she has white in her black hair.

This song and this particular performance is one of the biggest favorites of mine.
Dany's red PRS is a USA Custom 24-08 with the 8 tone settings, the blue one (and the black one which I haven't seen for a while) are both USA Custom 24s. The Manson is an ORYX VI in a Mustard Yellow color special made for Dany and presented by one of her idols Matt Bellamy. The white Gibson Explorer was presented to her by another idol Lzzy Hale. Other commenters describe these guitars as well and in greater detail, quite fascinating!🤘

Greetings from Denmark - and in anticipation for more TW reactions, you've gained a new subscriber. It seems to me Ale has become more prominent in the mixes the past 6 months. She looked very confident to me when she was a kid, then maybe more shy (not on stage) while teenager, but guys, she will surprise you later.

With Ale I’m reminded of the excellent song Shrinking Violet by Mostly Autumn, a British melodic prog rock band.
After a while you'll grow accustomed to picking out their voices. Ale almost always does the low harmonies and Pau the high. Also, if you listen closely, you'll notice that Ale's voice is panned to the left, Pau to the right, and Dany the middle (except when Pau sings lead), just like their stage formation.
Sidenote: Pau often mouths the words (she's the primary lyricist) when she's not actually singing her parts. She's also ready at a moment's notice to take over if Dany needs help because she sometimes forgets the words.
@musikbyjh Fanned frets are needed when each string has a different length. Lower notes sound better on longer strings, while the longer strings also don't have to be as thick.
Also, the more strings there are on a guitar, the wider the pitch range between the lowest and highest note strings, so the more useful it is to optimize lower note vs higher note string lengths.

You don't hear Pau singing the verse because she is whispering, you can hear the whisper louder on the album track. This is one of my favorites, they go so hard!!
Don't know if anyone replied this yet, but Pau also lip sinc's a lot while Dany is singing.

Hi. From a sound engineering point of view you should now see 23 or Dust to Dust, at the Metropolitan Theater, where Paulina does the lead voice. It's wonderful to see how well separated the voice is from the drums.

Rick Toone could not provide financial sponsorship to the band. Dany loved his guitars. PSR came by with money and other perks so she made the tough decision to switch. Gibson wants her in the worst way but she will not sign with them because they want her to play only Gibson. At a show recently she used 6 guitars. 3PRS, Gibson ,Manson, Fender
