@@musikbyjhThere is one video of a concert 30 min set were they are killing it and towards the end little Ale steps on the bass cord and disconnects the bass so Dani races to her side to check what happened and tries to fix the problem
While playing ( the song was survive) but she could not do anything so she goes back to continue the song, so what does Ale do without sound to her bass? She puts her hands up and starts clapping encouraging the audience to clap. This wast towards the end of the song and their set.
The festival was heaven and hell if you want to look it up.

You two should now watch their Berklee School of Music Video. All 3 of them went and Ale's Mom had to carry her Bass around as Ale was two short and the bass would hit Ale's ankles. Also, they had a BIG surprise when they finished the summer course.

I'm also one of the many TWA members warned by this performance. I immediately went down the rabbit hole. I had never seen someone literally destroy their drum kit while playing. The passion, energy, and just wave of sound blew me away. Add in their professionalism and what they stood for and I was hooked. Not to mention the musicianship. just wow.

Fun Fact: the girls did a self- reaction to this TEDx. Pau was surprised how high she was raising her arms and hitting the drums. She also said several times how adorable Ale was and that she wanted to hug her.
Ale was 12 at the time. English is their second language, and for her to speak so clearly and without hesitation shows her confidence and intelligence and off the cuff without queue cards or teleprompter.
Notice in the song "When I'm Alone " Dany sings the whole song "alone." There are no harmonies by Pau and Ale. Same at the Teatro Metroplitan concert. This is Dany's song literally.

Yes, Lunario is the debut of their 2nd album The concept album Queen of the Murder Scene. It also contains some songs from the 1st Album XXI Century Blood.
For the main performance of that 1st album Dakota Bar is the go-to. It’s a fantastic show as well & worth its own viewing.

The MC that introduced them to the stage (not shown in this video) mentioned that their Ted Talk performance from the previous year was the #1 most watched video from that whole event. I'm guessing that earned them the invite back that Ale mentions, "thank you so much for the invitation". The first song, Unmendable has been my favorite song for a while now. The 2nd half of the song is always stuck in my head.

In October of 2017, The Warning opened for Def Leppard in Mexico City. Pau tells the story that Def Leppard's manager saw how young they were and thought that they were just going to pretend to play to a backing track, or something. After their show Def Leppard was so impressed that they invited them on to their Guadalajara show and the guys came out on the stage to watch them.

One of Paulina's influences is Neil Peart. There are others as well. Not saying Neil is the main influence just one of them. It's fitting as he wrote most of Rush's lyrics and Paulina writes as well. She sings however and Neil did not. Another 3 piece power trio had two lead singers. One was the drummer, Gil Moore. Triumph, also like Rush was from Canada.

If you watch later performances of Survive, the band has developed a bit of choreography during the song.
When Pau is singing and at a couple certain points in the song Ale and Dany do a synchronized guitar swing.
When Dany is singing Ale and Pau do a couple synchronized sideways hair flips or head bobs if you will.
I always find myself watching for those moments when I see a performance of Survive now.
By this point in her career Pau has likely broken enough drumsticks that it doesn’t even phase her. She earned the nicknames Animal by her sisters and shredder by the fans (which she wasn’t keen on).
The broken part of the stick flys sideways in this performance but in others it almost seems she's aiming them at Dany…lol.
There have been a couple of incidents of broken sticks flying by Dany and ending up in the crowd.
Today Pau seldom breaks sticks (all drummers do occasionally) as she has become so much more efficient in her playing style.

I never get tired of this one, or the 2016 TEDx. These early videos help us understand the process of becoming. We become what we think about, and we become what we do. The Warning have always been becoming a rock band. Not a girl band, or a cover band, or a bar band, but potential rock superstars. Last week, they were on ShipRocked, a rock-and-roll cruise in the Caribbean with over 30 other bands and a lot of fans. They played the encore at the farewell concert. Now 19, 22, and 24, they're headed for greatness. These TEDx performances were very prescient. They had the spark anyone needs to succeed: a burning desire to do something they like.

So I love The Professor's drum work, but don't really see the connection between the two. The trio often mention such influences as Muse, but I can't recall Neil Peart being mentioned.
There are some similarities. Both are trios, the drummers both are the lyricists (mostly), both do great music. But Rush was much more the prog rock group, very complex songs, with the bass much more out front in a lead role. Rush wrote no love songs, but certainly did social observations and commentary. Much more alternate time structures.
But TW does such great earworm music, can't get enough. Some alternate time structures. It is now that we will be seeing their influences mentioned in regard to others.

    • @lobodanx3

Pau mentioned Peart in a magazine interview several years back when all three were asked that question. Their first answers, though there were one or two others added, were Brian May for Dany, Paul McCartney for Ale, and Neil Peart for Pau. I believe there was another time where Pau mentioned Peart but I can't remember when and where but it too was in an interview setting. Those were specific musicians not groups. The number of groups are much more than just Muse (#1 for all 3) and include some other genres as well like K-Pop.@@tomcanfield705

The structure of the concert, if you watch the whole thing, is that they play a song from the previous album, XXI Century Blood, at the end of each chapter, and one after the prologue, Dust to Dust. Each chapter is 3 songs and there are 4 chapters.

Pau’s stick breaks but lands on the symbol and stays there until she hits the symbol and the broken part flies off (17:45). In another concert she drops a stick, immediately switches hands with the remaining stick, and continues playing the symbols with her bare hand until a break when she can retrieve a new stick. She’s a pro!

This ted talk is such a special piece of Warning history. This was for their first album 21st Century Blood, and the Lunario Concert is their Second album played in its entirety with some of the previous albums songs thrown in. That is a great watch too and I will definitely be there for a live stream of that one. ⚡

To my knowledge this was the first time "You have been warned" was said, by Pau no less, go figure. Yes Pau broke a stick and recovered like the pro she already was at that time. Ale was still playing a 4 string bass and just grooving out and laying it down. Dany is well, Dany, her voice just continues to mature and her slashing guitar style just works. During the breakdown instrumental section of 'Survive' that sparse keyboard bit is a plug in filler, and it works beautiful for that track. They only seem to do that when it's necessary which is great. They write as a trio to be able to bring it live, which they obviously do. Just fantastic on every level really, and they're still really young. For any drummers out there I wouldn't recommend playing in heels 😮😂

There's something really special about witnessing artists growing up and becoming themselves. When it happens to be 3 people, and sisters at that, it's just all the more interesting. After 100s of Warning videos I think I have a sense of how they're like as people, but they are surprising. I think it's a testament to their upbringing that they will always have room to grow and surprise us, and themselves. There is confidence in action, but there is also confidence in constantly flexing and reaching out to the next way of being. I think they have this.

Great reaction! I hope you do the full Lunario concert. I don't know if someone already commented it, but the concept album is their second one, Queen of the murder scene. Something you should probably be aware of if you do react to Lunario is that in that concert they played the full QOTMS album, but with a few songs from XXI century blood interspersed.
So, QOTMS is divided into a prologue song and four chapters of three songs each. The songs from XXICB come after each section, so the order is: prologue song from QOTMS, followed by one from XXICB. Then the 3 songs from chapter one of QOTMS, followed by another one from XXICB, and so on. Some people understandably get confused when they realize the setlist doesn't quite match the album, so, hopefully this helps.

Where Dani is referring to all the hard work put into the album. The three girls have their fingers in every part of making an album. They don’t just go in and play the music and go home they are into the production side as well. Was watching a video by Rick Beato, He and their producer from the Error album David Bendeth did a mixing contest using their song Money. The girls joined them for a little bit. David and Dani were talking about mixing, and it got to the point where Dani said she liked it, he would make her sign a piece of paper that said she was happy with “this song”. For every song, apparently she kept wanting to tweak things here and there.

David Grohl nailed it when inducting Rush into the R&R Hall of Fame…he said “Neil Peart is your Favorite Drummer’s Favorite Drummer”-I’m pretty sure he was talking about Pau (😆) who says that her biggest influence was The Professor
You will hear David Gilmour’s influence on Dany when you do the reaction to the Lunario concert (especially the last song…)

Ale's Birthday is December 13th, Dany's is on January 30th, and Pau's is February 5th.
So for this performance, which was in mid January 2017, Dany was still 16, Pau was still 14, and Ale had just turned 12 about a month prior. I had stumbled upon these Girls back in 2015, and I saw this video when it was first released. I knew right then that they were destine for greatness, they were so young, and yet so talented, pretty amazing stuff.... There was no turning back!!!

When I'm Alone is my favorite The Warning song. It's like Danny wrote the song for me. It sums up my feelings most days.
Also an easy way to remember their ages is Danny was born in 2000 and the age differences are 2 and 3 years.

Back before Ale became a little bit introverted and, I suspect, somewhat gun-shy or possibly a little freaked out or scarred even by people constantly commenting about her appearance and age and playing and personality on social media… she went from this confident rock star girl to a somewhat cocky and alternative young teen and then into a very reserved and camera shy middle teen who wanted her microphone turned way down and even just outright stopped singing some of her harmony vocal parts in live shows… Something i observed in yt concerts and which Pau confirmed verbally during the London acoustic set which you can see on yt.
But now I see Ale with her confidence back, having grown to accept that people find her visually attractive and musically great and interesting to hear discussing music, and she’s started singing bgs without pau finally… It must have been a strange life for her to grow up completely in the public eye, constantly being judged by strangers. I mean, heck, I’m doing it now, but with the best empathetic supportive intentions.
They are all fascinating people, and I’m just really excited to see each of them taking over the music world in their individual ways!
Ale was always so well spoken… So frickin intelligent and speaking in her second language!

I sense no judgement from your comment. Only observations. I would suspect that the support of both Dany and Pau along with Ale's parents had a lot to do with her transformation. Ale is quite well adjusted now more so I have seen from some of the latest interviews.

all three of these songs are off the 2017 album "XXI Century Blood", an album about how they see the world and things they want to change in it...
i don't recall seeing anything from DPA/TW about what inspired *Unmendable* ... some of us think it had to do with their negotiations with numerous labels that they turned down...
*When I'm Alone* is Dany's song written when they were at Berklee Music College in 2015... she wrote it while very homesick and needing a song to turn in for a class assignment... Pau and Ale joining with only their instruments is very fitting for the feelings the song is conveying...
*Survive* is obviously about a relationship going/gone bad... some think of a boy/girl relationship but it could be about any relationship... especially a relationship where partyA is telling partyB that partyB won't make it without partyA in their lives... to me, this sounds very much like it was inspired from the failed negotiations with those labels "that wanted to change them for the wrong reasons"... i can see those label people trying to get them to sign by trying to scare them with words like that...

if you watch closely, when Pau walks back around to her drums for *Survive* you see her bending over at the computer and getting it ready to go before she sits down on the drum throne... i think this was before she got her midi pedals to control the program so she has to manually do it between each song... this may also be before using Ableton Live for their click track and stems...
later in the song, i think the outro section, the computer commands the keyboard to play a backing part... i think... but it could be a stem like they use when on the road without a keyboard...

I can’t call myself part of The Warning Army (because I haven’t really been aware of it’s existence until about a year ago), but I’ve followed these girls since I saw their viral Enter Sandman video and I’ve always taken a listen whenever I heard of a new Warning song come along. I was Impressed with them back then and I continue to be blown away with their progression as musicians and performers, and I’m always in awe of how kind and humble they seem to be.

Ale talked way more in the 2 tedx then she does nowa days. I think it was cool that Pau spoke second to let the audience know and hear her out of breathless it expresses her passion and love of their music. This was the start of Ales on stage groove we see now. They were taught at Berkley how important stage presence is and they took that to heart!
Queen Of The Murder Scene is a great album and if they had been signed with a label there is no way they would have allowed them to do this on only their second album. and ya Pau's stick splintered she reached low for a new one where now she has em in a cup, but this is most likely a barrowed drum set? but shortly after she hits her hi hat and you see the other part of her stick fly off. As cool as it looks to see Pau go crazy, her style now is more in control and less physically draining im sure... without the loss of power. They were the first band to be asked to come back for for a second show.. how great is that. Another great review. cioa for now from Victoria BC
