I really enjoyed your and the awkward mom's cameo humorous appearances in each other's videos. I would love to see more of the two of you collaborating. Great job.
I just watched Ariel’s video, and then came here. I appreciated how you mentioned that you skipped or moved tasks. Of all of the routines I’ve seen featured, this one could work the best for me! Thanks for sharing your take on it!
My biggest issue is having the energy to tackle things at the end of a long work day. I usually manage to get the dishes done and living room picked up, but I don’t seem to have the energy to get things like cleaning out the refrigerator or cleaning the oven done. I have decluttered a lot in the last few years, so that does help.
Same, I work at least 9hrs a day, and my commute is over an hr each way* - we don't have kids, and I've been working on decluttering and establishing a routine, but some things are just not getting done every day lol
With ADHD, I really struggle with sticking to a cleaning routine. I'll get motivated, research the heck out of it, start it, succeed, and then life will throw a wrench in my plan and I'll struggle with getting back into it. Also, I have yet to find a plan that includes getting older kids/husbands to help, so everything doesn't always fall on me. Thanks for your honest review!
I have the same problem. I find I like to cycle through several cleaning routines. Whichever one I haven't done in awhile can often spark a new excitement. We thrive on Novelty. Sometimes buying a new cleaning tool helps too. :)
There is a really nice feature on the app that let's you separate tasks either by room, how often they occur and more. I find I really like the room setting its easier to look at where you physically need to go to do certain things, but switching to see which weekly tasks need done is nice to see too. (The button is on the top right of the screen for anyone needing to know. )
The App lets you separate Tasks by Room? OK, now I'm interested! I would get lost in a long list, but this solution along with being able to move Tasks around to another day if needed may mean this App just solved that dreaded "decision fatigue!" Thank you! 💖
@@sage_forensics_2261 I also like that they have a button that lets you turn off auto renewal. So it’s very cheap and that feature is so nice. Because my moods for what I need change a lot lol.
I clean the doorknobs and light switches on a regular basis, and we switch out the towels on a regular basis - I would recommend having a laundry hamper for just towels - once its full, toss it in the wash :)
I tried a one task per day cleaning schedule Mon dusting, tue windows and glass, wen bathrooms deep clean and disinfectant any surfaces needed , thur hoover, Friday mop floors Saturday car and garden tidy,Sunday bi weekly food shop.,It works great with my laundry routine and nightly routine for a full time working mom. You can add in bi yearly or monthly chores on a Saturday when you have more time.
Thank you so much for your videos, as a fellow ADHDer and Canadian! that after the summer rush has been overwhelmed getting back into routines, I’ve been binging and your content has got me up and going. Currently reading the minimalist home and just rewatched all your hocus focus content. Thank you for your videos, they are so so good and helpful. ❤ Which cleaning routine do you love the most?
Thank you for explaining this system. I wonder if it includes anything about incoming papers as well? 🤔 I found you through this collab and now I'll look into your other videos. Thanks for making me smile! ❤
I tried using the Momo app and found it useful but being ADHD didn’t feel like I had a handle on everything and would start to feel bad for missing tasks that would not come around again for a week or a month. But also having ADHD I didn’t know there was a website? With all the reference material right there? 😆 So it could even work for me after all. Thanks to you and Ariel for checking this method out ❤
i like the routine of it and the brain break from thinking about what task to do. my only beef (or chicken or vegan hotdog) with it is that I like to build in days of complete rest. After all I wouldnt want to work a job 7 or 8 days a week. I dont want to be cleaning that often either. So i would probably double up some of the tasks. Plus we finally through another routine got our dishes organized to be exactly 1 load a week, load all week, run it on friday night and empty saturday morning, Friday is also when we meal plan, shop and meal prep, so thats when the bulk of dishes are dirtied. I digress, great in concept and with some tweeking around it can be a good 5 day a week plan too
I love "Tasting History!" I came here from Ariel's channel. My kids are grown, so a lot of the tasks won't apply. I think I am going to print out the checklist and put it into a sleeve so I can wipe it off. I like your take on this.
This routine is similar to mine. I do kitchen daily with tidy of living room and bathroom. I keep paper towels in bathroom also for guests. Works great. I have list for weekly and monthly. Found you thru Awkward Mom.
Lol. I think it would be good to just ignore the “day label” and just check off what gets done. I just don’t like being regimented to having to do this thing on that particular day. (Other than the basic daily “have to” stuff (which could be adapted, of course also). Would be great to have a master list of all things tho to play with so you don’t have to worry that anything got left out and can drop having to try and remember the less often tasks.
This is a really good question and I realize that both of us in this video work primarily from home, so the routines are designed for this type of schedule. I can’t reply in quite enough detail here, but I just wanted to say that you can decide what works best for you in terms of actual cleaning and many people do a longer chunk of time on, say Saturday morning, rather than spread it out over the week. One thing to be careful of is to try to keep on top of the daily tasks. I think this is the biggest way to not fall behind and then have energy for cleaning when needed.
Growing up and in my house before I redid the kitchen the cooker/oven was built in and I completely forget about it now. It's been done once in 10 years because I spilled milk. To be fair, I really can't move it myself. It is also a tight fight. I'm very careful about spills and anything dropped on the floor by it. I think I need this so it gets done once or twice a year at least.
I'm a Resp. Therapist and I work the dreaded overnight shifts 😴. On the nights I work I can't force myself to get off the couch let alone do laundry. How do you manage these systems so when your off your not spending the whole day cleaning? Help meeeee lol
When doing shift work, it’s survival for me! I just clean on days off (minus like wiping counters, etc). I would not be doing the day to day Motivated Moms during shift work days.
I still want to know - why don't the guys at least take out the trash. If you work full time and husband works you should not come home and do all the house work. It should be shared.
I think it depends on the men themselfes. My husband is a great help *if* I remind him of most of the tasks. Having both ADHD it can be much fun and a big problem at the same time. I think Cas from Clutterbug said it is important to praise husbands and children when they're doing their tasks to keep them motivated. Hope this helps. All the best for you! 🍀

Robyn, magnets don't stick on my stainless steel fridge. How are you doing it?! 😮

No thinking or making choices! Moms suffer from decision fatigue, so this is great!

You're doing well! Prioritize and do what you can. No one can do it all!
love the collaboration with Ariel and your thoughts!
Thank you Margaret!
I cam over from Ariel's channel. Happy to be here. Thanks for sharing your experience!

It's always fun when a couple of RUclipsrs that I follow do a collab... I'm off to watch Ariel's video now! 😄

Thanks Kathy! Welcome!
Love you. Love Ariel. Love this collab.
and I LOVE your youtube name!
The Awkward Mom Ariel sent me over. After hearing both of your reviews, I'll give it a try. Also since I'm here, I'm checking out more of your vids.😊

Great video and collab from two of my favorite RUclipsrs! ❤
Yay! Thank you! 🎉
Saw yours and Ariel’s videos pop up. Stayed up to watch both. Just back from holidays and needed a push to get back to do the housework 😂❤

Do what works for you! Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Paying for it will make me want to "use" it. I think this is brilliant.
Right???
I don’t know about that for me. Can’t tell you the number of times I have paid for Weight Watchers
for”accountability “. Still same weight lol
Yes, The Awkward Mom sent me here too.

👍🏼 definitely adapt things the way that makes sense to you! 👋🏼❄️
Clean my sheets weekly is a must. I love going to bed, knowing that my sheets are clean.
Wonderful!
I feel like a lot of these tasks are some that you could be delegating to the kids, age appropriate of course.
Oh they are, but I had to try them for the sake of an honest review of the video ☺️

FYI, Prince wrote Manic Monday😁.
man, he was so talented!
I just realized why the other rooms aren’t scheduled to be mopped! Maybe she lives in an area where carpeting is the typical flooring!?
A-ha! Maybe!
From both your videos it seemed a lot more overwhelming than Flylady and to me Flylady is too much 😂😂😂but I tell people I do Flylady loosely. 😅
Yes, I’ve modified it for myself
Here from "the awkward mom" 😂

Finding a routine or system that fits for you is definitely what’s most important!
Also having ADHD, I start in one room and end up doing something else so its hard to get one thing done.
I understand! Keep on watching this type of videos and you’ll get there!
I love Tasting History!!
❤️
Awkward Mom sent me! I hope you two help each other again sometime!
Yes! 💪🏼🤞🏼✨
