I love how a chain of events can be linked together that ordinarily would have no connection. Who would have thought that Dinkins winning would have meant no Jackie
I like how the kid blamed Jerry at the end for his father's business closing down. It's not his fault for the false advertising, if you father didn't lie about the contents then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.
Well, the kid WAS a millennial! Did you think accepting responsibility would be a virtue he was raised to embrace? (I'm joking BTW--I'm also a Millennial)
Beautiful work by the director, editor, and everyone working on the show. Had the election went the other way, the episode would have still been a hit. Props to everyone behind the scenes.
I like the actor who played Lloyd Braun, Peter Keleghan, in this episode. He's a Canadian actor who I remember best as Ranger Gord from "The Red Green Show", which I believe is still on some PBS stations, or find it on RUclips. Anyway, they wanted to use the Lloyd Braun character in a future episode, but they had to hire a different actor because Keleghan couldn't get a work visa in time for the shooting of the episode they were to use the character in again.
Interesting! Didn't know why they didn't bring back the original actor. The replacement actor probably played a better mentally-unstable character anyway.
Garry Mullins If you want mentally unstable, Peter Keleghan's character from "The Red Green Show", Ranger Gord, definitely fits the description. The gag is that he's been stuck in the same fire watch tower for maybe 15 or 16 years without a paycheck. He easily loses track of time as a result, and he does some odd things as well. Some old episodes of the show are on RUclips if you're interested.
@godmode9 You can still get fat from eating too much fatty foods; it's just "easier" for your body to get fat from sugar because your body expends less energy metabolizing sugar than it does fats and proteins.
@@jaredjones1752 Disagree. The process by which sugar is converted into fat is called de novo lipogenesis. It's actually one of the body's last resorts because it's a very expensive process compared to storing lipids directly. Fat tends to get stored just as soon as your body is over its "allotment" of calories for a day, virtially unchanged. But you would need an inordinately high amount of sugar to have it be converted to fat and stored. Sugar can lead to weight gain because, with its moderately high caloric density, it can cause one to get too many calories in a day. But it's virtually never stored itself, it's always converted to water and carbon dioxide and breathed out. Dietary fat is usually always the macro that gets stored when people gain weight, unless someone is in ketosis.
Phil Morris still could've been Jackie Chiles even if they'd used that clip. Actors have played multiple roles on the same show before, especially when their first appearance was a one-off character like that one.
Yeah but Seinfeld really likes continuity. They did a re-shoot of John Randolph's scenes as Frank Costanza with Jerry Stiller, and dubbed Wayne Knight's voice for Newman over the Newman suicide attempt over Larry David's voice. So for Seinfeld, I think it was really important to not overlap actors and use the same actors for the same character.
I don't see why they would not have used Phil Morris as Jackie Chiles. The character is totally different. There is an episode where Jerry walks out of movie with an African American friend and they rave about the action. Then in the "Puerto Rico Day" episode the same actor shows as "Maroon Golf".
You're right. There's a ton of actors on Seinfeld who played one role in one episode, then returned to play another. Elaine's boyfriend Jake Jarmel (The Opposite) was a cop in the California episode, George's girlfriend in "The Doodle" was a bra executive in an earlier episode, "The Sniffing Accountant". There's so many more examples.
They did have quite a few actors who played multiple characters, but over the 180 episodes, look at all the different actors and actresses who were just "one & done(s)." He probably would have been one of them.
Wow, that's fast work! The day before... even SNL takes a few days to a week to get current events in, at least produced content, excluding verbal mentions.
Like Ted McGinely on Married with Children... He played Peg's wife in an alternate world in a Christmas episode and later joined the cast as Jefferson Darcy.

whoa it is so surreal to me seeing different versions of the episode
The Giuliani victory was the most private of Phil Morris's many humiliations.

Matt McCoy, star of two Police Academy movies, and the husband in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.
Wow. That’s the only reason why the original Lloyd Braun didn’t come back?
"Well, the yogurt verdict is in.....FAT!"
The irony here is that it probably wasn't the fat, but the loads of sugar they dumped into the yoghurt.
Not only is that NOT irony, it isn't correct.

I just love how Kramer believed the yoghurt was non-fat, but at the same time: consistently called Jerry "fatass".

The two characters don't even really look alike, beyond both being svelte black men.

It's like Guiliani was a completely different person back then.
Nowadays, Rudy is on TV for altogether different reasons...
Is it strange that i've seen both Dinkins/Guiliani episodes on tv?
No. Cause when a show goes into syndicated reruns unaired episodes will often get aired
