If you don't have rope (like me), you can use the handle of a small pair of pliers (make sure they're rubber coated) and whack the clutch with a hammer whilst holding the tip of the pliers, that's how I got mine off. Thanks to this video I found out which way to hammer it off 🤣🤣
Instead of tapping the clutch I put plyers in the groves and used an adjustable wrench across the need nose plyers. Mine was on so incredbly tight... I ended up have to use a lit of force. Now it doesnt idle correctly. Do you think I broke a seel or something? Maybe I bent the piston?
If the crankshaft itself was damaged, you'd probably have more symptoms like knocking or vibration. If its just the idle, a seal may have been damaged. Spray some carb cleaner around the shaft when its idling. If it revs higher, there is probably a leak.
Dude you just saved me 28.00 did it would cost to buy the clutch removal tool. Which is not nearly as much as the 50 they wanted to put my clutch back on, which they had to take off in order to change the rim sprocket from a 1/4 pitch to a 3/8 pitch. They took it off for free to find what rim socket they needed, and then wanted to charge me $50 to put the clutch back on. Instead I took all the parts clutch off my new rim sprocket which I paid $14 for and walked out not buying the brand new bar and chain that I would have got with it had they have done it for free. And I will never go back, as well as writing 0 out of 10 review. Not what I would call the best customer service trying to win a new customer
