Thank you for watching. It's not easy talking about experiences like this, but if it can help someone else or start to make a difference then it's worth it x
@@JennyCole1988 Well it helped me after experiencing a traumatic incident. Please can I ask how long you were there for and whether you feel your mental health has improved x
@@harrieta6961 Sorry for not replying sooner Harriet - I've been recovering from major surgery. How are you? I guess I've spent a number of years struggling with feeling suicidal, although not really intensely all the time. I've had times when I've been in a really bad place, but also plenty of times when I've been able to manage a lot better. For the last few years things have generally been a bit more stable. I've still had thoughts and felt very down, but I've been able to manage those thoughts and feelings a bit better using skills I've learnt xx
People that commit sucide have had enough with careless chit chat. What's preventable is society's deliberate neglect (family/friends or stranger). Personally I've been sucidal for years.. I've herd it all. No one cares until there at your funeral.
I'm really sorry that you think this is careless chit chat - as I said in the video I'm simply talking from my point of view as someone that has been struggling with being suicidal for a long time and has also lost people to suicide. But everyone will have different experiences and find different things helpful. I agree that a lot of society are neglecting mental illness and suicide, which is another reason I believe it's important for as many people to talk about their experiences as possible - until the rest of society start listening and taking it seriously. I'm really sorry to hear you have also been suicidal for a number of years and feel like no-one cares. It's a horrible place to be in and is especially hard when there doesn't seem to be anyone who will listen, support you or take it seriously. I know it's not the same as having loved ones around you who care, but in my darkest times I have turned to charities like the Samaritans and also my local Mental Health Safe Haven Crisis Cafe when no-one else could help. I really hope you can find someone to support you while you're feeling so low
Thanks for sharing. You are very brave to be able to speak about your own experience x
