Such a good video. My birds have their own cages and they were all female. However I now have 1 male. So far he hasn’t shown interest in the girls. And the girls aren’t really interested in him. However I do keep my eye on them. I don’t think I have a great set up for encouraging breeding in that I don’t have nest boxes and the space is pretty open. Still , I am a birdie chaperone!.😂😉☺️
I like that, a birdie chaperone! Since your birds have their own cages, I would think that would greatly discourage things. On the other hand, I feel like you can't really predict but will happen. Each parrot of course, has its own personality and hormones! Charlie might feel like he has his pick!
@@ParrotBliss For the most part. At times they will beak play. I watch them very carefully. Sometimes Luna my Cape will get jealous and will chase my GCC away from me. I feel I should never totally trust that Luna won’t hurt my GC.
Thanks for the video..
Very well said. Some people put two birds together and they never breed. I see adds of birds being sold because they won't breed, so sad.
Yes, breaks my heart. We need breeders, but I want to see breeders that love birds and work with their flock, babies or not.
Here down under we call them cake, but with the 'a'
slightly stretched out. Weird, I know! Just found you today and am really enjoying your content.
Welcome! Yes, I LOVE the way you guys pronounce it 🦜
Hi Kaitlyn, please can you advise me at what age my green cheeks will stop biting me??
After about a year

I’ve read that Cape Parrots are not good breeders, even in the wild. What have you learned about their breeding habits?
I'll make a video response- remind me what parrot/s you have now?
