yep! true to some degreee for ALL birds. the more you touch them, the more human skin oils get on their feathers. eventually it'll be more than their preening can take care of. plus there's hormonal issues, etc etc etc

I just purchased a Red Eclectus a week ago, and she much more calmer and disobedient than these birds. I believe their personality will be different depending on the environment. We have alot of pets, but we always keep the animals in different parts of the house. Only the parrots are allowed in my office and our bedroom. The pet store told me my bird use to be a show bird with lots of kids always touching her. That had to really stress the bird out. So now, it only me and I let the bird do its own thing. But whenever I tell the bird come here to get on my fingers it always comes. And it usually like to stay in one place unless it smells food. It also can talk, but so far it only says Hi and Hello. I haven't seen any other Eclectus on RUclips that talks.

I was at a fast food joint this weekend and a family walked in with a male eclectus. If I hadn't been online the last few months looking at birds to hopefully get one in near future I wouldn't of known what kind it was, but I knew. They ordered their food and sat outside to eat. I didn't notice a harness on it. They said they bought they egg from a local bird store and the store raised it for a month after it hatched before the family took it home.

Would an Eclectus imitate another bird scream? My family currently have an - amazing but - super noisy Sun Conure who loves to scream, and the reason I'm looking into an Eclectus is because I've heard they are on the quieter side and would take him/her with me when I move into an apartment. But I've also heard that they can imitate noise, and it would be awful if he started imitating my Sun Conure 😂

I have a 20 days old green cheek conure and I feed him from 6 am to 9 pm with 4 to 5 hours in between each meal.. but he keeps shouting.... I thought it might be because hobi was scared of me but he always runs to wherever I am and sleeps on me and when I sleep he comes and give me kisses in face... So it's not because of me.. I don't let him in cage most of the time so I let him out and let him play.. but he still keep shouting whenever someone is in the room he come near us and
Keep looking at us and shout... I thought it's because he wants to play... So I take him in my hand and let him do whatever he wants but he still shouts so I got some destructible toys for him to play.. But he can't bite it because he is still not used to hard things... He loves water so I let him bath in a small tub he is a little silent in water but after that he keeps shouting whenever he sees me... He runs to me, looks at me and shout.. I don't know why.. I thought maybe you know why.. please help me.. I wanna be a better parrot parent for my baby hobi.. 😭

The bird didn’t turn in anyone. It’s hormones are being triggered. No petting bird’s below the neck.
As if the bird is extra hormonal then sometimes even looking a the bird can trigger it. They definitely need to work on that. And probably diet too because diets can trigger hormones too.
