I live further south in Cape Coral, Fl and would love someday to once again have a cottage style garden like yours. Trying to have a pretty and harmonious garden in a sub-tropical climate is challenging. A recent transplant from Long Island, I miss it's natural landscape and the gardens I enjoyed there and which cannot be replicated here. Watching your garden videos is always a joy and also gives me inspiration to be creative with what I have to work with.
Yes friend it was a grueling transformation for me ....from upstate New York .....29 years later I've got it down a bit more ! I love what we can have here ....and miss terribly what we can't !😎🍁👍🍂🌴🍍

Interesting how some plants we have here love the cool foggy CA coast, and yet there they are boiling away in your humidity! We've got a huge sprawling Purple Queen too, started 3 years ago from one little cutting, I'll have to get a picture sent to you. In AZ getting anything happy this time of year is tough but I’m not a quitter (some of my flowers are tho) - I love it natural but my hubby is practicing for retirement when he works park time at Disney I guess so all my plants are shaped like spheres!! TFS 🏄♂️🌹🌸💐🌺🌷🌻

Your cottage style garden is wonderful ! You are able to have such a huge variety of plants in your zone. We are having a bit of a drought here now and temperatures in the 90’s. Yikes! I will be dragging the hose all over the place for the foreseeable future. Have a great weekend! 🌿🌿🌿
We have had deer eating everything totally destroyed rose gardens daylily gardens hosta gardens perennials like sedum And Lillies and annuals like geraniums and impatients so I planted things deer don’t like they ate my salvia and begonias Rose of Sharon Shasta daisy so I just have boxwood, fern and marigolds and vinca They did eat some marigolds but only a few. Deer in my yard daily. They jumped our backyard 10 ft wire fence so we took it down and kept only our split rail. They also ate our entire woods area behind our house no longer dense you can see right through it wide open now no young trees or bushes stand a chance. They ate Texas yew hedges and lilac and all bushes. And of course it’s illegal to try to get rid of deer or coyotes. Go figure! Absolutely beautiful garden Jeff! Thanks for sharing! Will watch this one again!!
Oh Alexa Jones, I can sympathise with you. We live in southeastern Michigan and the deer have destroyed our garden front and back. All we can have is yews and ferns. They even stripped our birch trees that were so beautiful. Had every kind of hosta and flower...they ate them all. Also we no longer have a vegetable garden. No fence will keep them out. But the developers have driven them from their forested areas by raping the land to build house after house. So sad.
I'll tell you that is so unfair ! Had a bout of it when we lived in Tennessee ! I was Mr. Gunho ! Planted orchards garden and fenced it .....didn't matter they ate it all....😒 a lot of money and a huge waist of time ...the black bear kept us from letting the kids play outside ......we couldn't keep doing it....3 plus years of that.....moved to Florida.......big loss ! Better now so I know.....so sorry ! The states usually up the deer take for hunters to keep them in check . but if their not paying attention ! Forget it ...🌷❤🍁😎🍂🌴

😃🌹🌺🌸🌼🌻🌾🍂🍃🌿🍎🍏!! Love the garden!! Wish I had some of those lemons off the tree for lemonade 🙂. Purslane, contains more vitamins C than you can shake a stick at. Not sure which variety you have there. We used to pick it from washes after monsoon rains when it grew in abundance. My grandmother had a delicious recipe, and made it for us when I was little along with prickly pear cactus( without the spines of course) and it was delicious. Indigenous recipes from the Native American Indian.

I was in our Navy's Submarine service for 5 years.....so I really appreciate your saying so....I've always worked residential home building otherwise...but have always loved anything house and home and the art of everything around it .....so I became quite the jack of all trades....Master of some ! The way I tell it.....but only designed and decorated for family ...until You Tube ! ....and I love them for it and the opportunity to show more......you know it's a talent that you just didn't even talk about in my growing up days !👍🌷❤🌷❤🌷👪📷🎬🌴we are so happy your here with us !
Jeff you just grow such a wonderful variety of plants. I love how you use what we use in hanging baskets as a ground cover. The liquid fence has been keeping the deer away but it certainly doesn’t work on raccoons. They just keep digging up my plants and in my mulch. Do you have any problems with any critters or insects. John and I could wander around your gardens for hours. Everything is beautiful. Hope you and Angela have a blessed and fun Sunday❤️❤️❤️

Opossum get under my shed . 3rd family now ...just a giant rat......they eat anything.......raccoons get in the trash cans if not tight....funny people think animals are so cute Lol .... Squirrels eat my Lilly bulbs actually dig them up ! Dig up my flower boxes ! And in our Tennessee house ...chewed thru 1/4" thick plastic barrels to get our black walnuts. If the deer arnt frightened by neighbor dogs......they will come up in the yard and eat your sheffleurra and hibiscus flowers ....the squirrels will too ! Armadillo and opossum....dig up the yard looking for grubs .....its a circus really....a constant irritate Jeff saga ! I hope your not sad you asked Lol! Black bear will get in your trash if not locked rare to see them but they are right here....and always making the news🌷🍂🍍🍁🍋😎🌴👫❤

Hi Jeff, Hubby and I just watched your fantastic garden. How do you do it? We lost our floral and vegetable gardens to the deer. Here in Southeastern Michigan the developers have bought all the green space for mini-mansions and the deer have been driven from their natural habitat. They come daily in groups of 4 or5 and decimate everything. We even had 2 fawns born in our back yard this year. Our lot is 70 by 120 feet!. So sad. Hubby hit a deer that ran out in front of him driving only 25 miles per hour..destroyed front of his F150. So sad. So we reveled in your garden for sure! On a lighter note can't send you a smiling flower but can send you an apple. After all it is said an apple a day keeps the doctor away. More likely at the price of fruit here it will take your $ away! See ya in the next video...keep smiling.

We have had deer eating everything totally destroyed rose gardens daylily gardens hosta gardens perennials like sedum And Lillies and annuals like geraniums and impatients so I planted things deer don’t like they ate my salvia and begonias Rose of Sharon Shasta daisy so I just have boxwood, fern and marigolds and vinca They did eat some marigolds but only a few. Deer in my yard daily. They jumped our backyard 10 ft wire fence so we took it down and kept only our split rail. They also ate our entire woods area behind our house no longer dense you can see right through it wide open now no young trees or bushes stand a chance. They ate Texas yew hedges and lilac and all bushes. And of course it’s illegal to try to get rid of deer or coyotes. Go figure! Absolutely beautiful garden Jeff! Thanks for sharing! Will watch this one again!!
Oh Alexa Jones, I can sympathise with you. We live in southeastern Michigan and the deer have destroyed our garden front and back. All we can have is yews and ferns. They even stripped our birch trees that were so beautiful. Had every kind of hosta and flower...they ate them all. Also we no longer have a vegetable garden. No fence will keep them out. But the developers have driven them from their forested areas by raping the land to build house after house. So sad.
I'll tell you that is so unfair ! Had a bout of it when we lived in Tennessee ! I was Mr. Gunho ! Planted orchards garden and fenced it .....didn't matter they ate it all....😒 a lot of money and a huge waist of time ...the black bear kept us from letting the kids play outside ......we couldn't keep doing it....3 plus years of that.....moved to Florida.......big loss ! Better now so I know.....so sorry ! The states usually up the deer take for hunters to keep them in check . but if their not paying attention ! Forget it ...🌷❤🍁😎🍂🌴

We used to pick it from washes after monsoon rains when it grew in abundance. My grandmother had a delicious recipe, and made it for us when I was little along with prickly pear cactus( without the spines of course) and it was delicious. Indigenous recipes from the Native American Indian.

I was in our Navy's Submarine service for 5 years.....so I really appreciate your saying so....I've always worked residential home building otherwise...but have always loved anything house and home and the art of everything around it .....so I became quite the jack of all trades....Master of some ! Jeff you just grow such a wonderful variety of plants. I love how you use what we use in hanging baskets as a ground cover. The liquid fence has been keeping the deer away but it certainly doesn’t work on raccoons. They just keep digging up my plants and in my mulch. Do you have any problems with any critters or insects. John and I could wander around your gardens for hours. Everything is beautiful. Hope you and Angela have a blessed and fun Sunday❤️❤️❤️

Opossum get under my shed . 3rd family now ...just a giant rat......they eat anything.......raccoons get in the trash cans if not tight....funny people think animals are so cute Lol .... Squirrels eat my Lilly bulbs actually dig them up ! Dig up my flower boxes ! And in our Tennessee house ...chewed thru 1/4" thick plastic barrels to get our black walnuts. If the deer arnt frightened by neighbor dogs......they will come up in the yard and eat your sheffleurra and hibiscus flowers ....the squirrels will too ! Armadillo and opossum....dig up the yard looking for grubs .....its a circus really....a constant irritate Jeff saga ! I hope your not sad you asked Lol! Black bear will get in your trash if not locked rare to see them but they are right here....and always making the news🌷🍂🍍🍁🍋😎🌴👫❤

Hi Jeff, Hubby and I just watched your fantastic garden. How do you do it? We lost our floral and vegetable gardens to the deer. Here in Southeastern Michigan the developers have bought all the green space for mini-mansions and the deer have been driven from their natural habitat. They come daily in groups of 4 or5 and decimate everything. We even had 2 fawns born in our back yard this year. Our lot is 70 by 120 feet!. So sad. Hubby hit a deer that ran out in front of him driving only 25 miles per hour..destroyed front of his F150. So sad. So we reveled in your garden for sure! On a lighter note can't send you a smiling flower but can send you an apple. After all it is said an apple a day keeps the doctor away. More likely at the price of fruit here it will take your $ away! See ya in the next video...keep smiling.
It makes you angry ...how about a class action lawsuit for damages for everyone effected 😒 you can see my other note on our Tennessee home .....we have them here their smaller and fewer.....dogs and repellent spray will keep them away....how do you use that its rained here for over 20 days now Lol 😎🍁📷🍂 have a wonderful weekend plus !
