It really could be a lot of thigs but what I would check first is a bad connection in the pickup coil wires going to the CDI box, could be a faulty stator or the CDI box itself starting to fail, spark plug boot going bad, main engine ground cable. An intermittent no spark problem is a tough issue to solve. If you can get it running with the gas tank cover off with all the wires exposed, just start wiggling wires and see if makes it stop running. My personal experience with this issue was ether the rubber connectors on the CDI box or the CDI box itself going bad,
Polaris 300 Xpress shutting off when put into Reverse... Stays running if bypass is held and put into Reverse.... What went bad to make it start quitting shifting into Reverse without holding bypass.???
