Let's not forget what this video is really about, I mean besides all the great guitar playing, this is a "good" life picture. After all the crap we deal with in this modern world, I see or hear 3 guys hanging and drinking a few cold beers and playing music into the night washing away the days events and stress, these are the things that keep us half sane stepping forward as we get older, thanks !!

Scary good playing and ideas in your demo musings Tom. Seriously IMO some of the most classic guitar tones and parts are nestled in your videos. They are up there amongst all the greats . That’s not even accounting your catalog of session work. I’m not blowing smoke and I know your best work on this earth is being a dad to your boys but . I am so blessed and inspired by your playing and musicality . I am thankful to God for your talent. It has brought me a lot of joy. Have a great day. Eagerly awaiting your next solo record.

Hey. Buko! First off, I love the fact that you get this excited about an EQ pedal. It’s so easy for people to get all wound up about a new drive pedal or some new wacky modulation box, but it’s truly a pro gets a chubby over a really nice, complicated and powerful EQ. I’m really curious to try this pedal out as every demo I’ve seen of it makes it obvious that this is a serious studio quality box that, used correctly, can have subtle but vital effect on one’s tone. As always, thanks for letting us be a fly on the wall for these cool hangs! Have a great gig with Joe tonight!

Headphones are where it's been at for every episode of Home Skoolin' at my house. I can see why you said the other day that this EQ pedal is primarily for players who record a lot of guitars. But even though it's not for me that DOES NOT make me a modeling "amp" kind of guy! 😀My 56 year old ass still brings a 1968 Super Reverb to every gig and I'm doing it again this Friday to play a 40 minute set despite the fact that the club has some decent backline available.

Uncle Larry just playing some sounds to test out some pedals of course ends up playing some truly inspiring music. I wish I could have been in the room to hear just how good it really sounded in there. If these cats are geeking about how good it sounds, it must sound fantastic. Then Tom quotes The Shins!! So cool! This is not the first time Tom has gushed about the Para EQ pedal.

I just rewatched Honky Tonk Neon Light Saturday Night Special - twice.
The way you made that old telecaster do its thing is beyond masterful. It's brilliant, at least to me. Like a bottomless well of great musical creativity and playing ability. Just listening/watching how you play, uninterrupted, gives me goosebumps. I often put Trip the Witch or Plexi Soul on while I am working, but listening to you free-playing alone is just about as good, and in some respects better. I swear, you could simply record some of your solo jams, like this one, and people would buy them. I know I would if I couldn't just get them free here. 😉

There is one thing that I´m obsessed with: why must be effects (pedals) on the floor? They are meant to be controled with your hands (manuals) and I do it all the time to find the sound I´m looking for, so why are them on the floor? Because of the on/off footswitch. The hand is much more important here than the foot, but the foot wins, and I end up not using the manual controls on the effects because they are out of reach and I have a big guitar hanging which makes it even harder. Also ,I´m not that young anymore and the floor is far for me. That is why I use effects with external bypass input, like the Nobels, old T.C. Electronic... And a looper( too many long cables), midi, multifx are not the solution ( neither is another guy tweeking the pedal for you, like in this case). I don´t know why nobody talks about that. I´ve notice that you even ocassionally push the footswich on the floor with your hand!!!( Rig Rundown). All RUclips demos are made with the fx on the desk or on a stand. Someday John Scofield is going to fall on the stage trying to crank up the speed of the chorus, maybe then pedal manufacturers decide to make a manual version of their pedals

Hey Tom, do you think certain compressors would also be able to provide the same kind of subtle tone sweetening?

@@501chorusecho ....It's a Gibson for one and I moved to this type of neck month's ago and have had just joy out of recording with it. Plus you make it look easy. lol I tried to use my tele again and it's way uncomfortable for me now. I don't think I can go back to a fender. My hands seem to fit the Gibson's better. The Norman Acoustic necks have the same warm feeling to them.
