@ChristTitusTech Just an FYI, MOST people DON'T use powershell and don't want to use it to download apps. I personally don't allow it access to the internet at all for security reasons and I'm not changing my firewall setting just for one utility. To do so would be inherently insecure. Seriously, make a portable EXE for people to easily download from within a browser. You want this utility to reach as many people as possible, correct? Stashing it behind powershell is not a good way to do that. Just throwing it out there.
@Windows Alternative That's your opinion and you're welcome to it. Not everyone agrees. And if Chris want's more people to use his utility, he needs to make it easier to get at for most people or people who lock down their systems.
@@lexluthermiester I found it quite easy to get this utility once i could get the PIPE symbol, windows terminal is fast and easy, i love it chris, keep up the good work and thanks
Oliver J. here just to say I have been appreciating you for the past two years. No BS in your content just pure PC hobbyist goodness. On top of which you have publicly developed one of, if not, the most important tool for Windows 10 to date. After being yelled at by other youtubers as if they were speaking to a fake studio audience or being mono-tonely whispered, lulled to death by their non-delivery. Really appreciate you more.
I've been using this utility for a while now, I figured it was about time to throw a $5er your way. Thanks for all the effort and work you've put into this!
Your tools have saved me countless hours of time setting up custom Gaming PC builds for people. i used to have a master windows 10 drive to clone onto the new system and then have to fix a few minor compatibility issues but this makes things as easy as can be to get the system to a usable state.
If you want to keep it from blocking, please remember that's about all you can do. It can minimize, max, rest, move, etc. However, Windows will not allow you to install most things more that one at a time, so you won't be installing using multitasking. The Windows installer will only allow one installer at a time.
I am running the Upgrade Installs part right now and it found everything that I already had installed and is updating those programs. Excellent work Chris.
Just so you know, I have used every new iteration of your tool as my reason to do a total reinstall of Windows. Thank you for all the effort you put into it.
This is amazing! You should get some kind of humanitarian award for this kind of work. I can't name my first born after you, but I might just change his name. Thank you for this.
Love this tool so much. Thanks Chris!! One more thing to add if possible is driver update. I was trying to find many different driver tools and most of them would use much system resource. Its always better to have this type of minimal tool for it. Keep up with the great work here :D
I love it! You're not being hyperbolic about it being the best. I have FOUR programs just to update - well - everything. I ran them all, got everything updated (so I thought) and ran your tool, and BAM!! lots of updates needed!! Thanks so much! ⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍
Thank you Chris for your hard work! Thank you for this all-in-one pro tool ! Huuuuge improvement from something that already was a great tool which is incredible by itself.
Been using this since 2020 and its been the first thing I use for every fresh install or old laptops/desktops that need a speed boost. Thanks for all the hard work.
Great work work Chris! MS tried to make Win work like linux (e.g powershell) & make it look like a mac but both with completely different MS mindset. But your tool's update all reminds me instantly of linux update && upgrade process. A very neat & clean tool that gets the job done. My congrats to you!
Few things missing from the games section is Origin, IGClient (Indiegala client), and ubisoft connect if you are able to add those. Those are used a lot so figured I would chip in some things to add. Otherwise this is a solid tool, Very nicely setup and easy to follow.
Thanks so much for your hard work Chris! The script is amazing. I have been using it ever since the first time you uploaded the script to youtube. Please if you do something major (update, added stuff and so on) post an update video like how you did now. It will be much appreciated
You are a beautiful human - thanks so much for allllllllll your efforts over the years! I watched so many videos of your today, as well as the previous versions of this script/shell. Truly thankful for your help.
Ty for new version is really nice! :) But please, how can we restore the changes of the previous version? The options that are missing: Disable/Enable Cortana and the others.
I Started my I.T. with Unix and Net ware servers and dos desktops. I had my own windows de-bloat process since windows 7 and 8, I have trashed that process as well as the tools I used for this tool. well done! please Keep up the progress.
Your new GUI does look very, very smart for a free open source, easy to get at script! Its easilly comparable with some closed source exes. Its a great gift from you to us I already caught this "WPF" winutil version you put out on Tuesday 10 May, 2022 I opened the script in the ISE, and rewatched the last few LiveStreams and videos on it. Great learning experience. I am personally less interested in the smart rescaling, or the winget downloads, and the meat of the DeBloat, DeBigBrother and the SpeedyUpIn stuff has not changed significantly, so for now I will stay with a personally tweaked version of your previous win10 version for the time being. But because of your great openess and sharing of knowledge, it becomes less important to me, or less of a problem, if things are wrong, or not as I prefer them. I can learn from you and adapt it as I choose. In this new winutil script of yours, the clearer laid out, more moduler form, and you coming finally away from that posh GUI may mean that improvements and improvement suggestions to the important meat of the script may be able to be implemented better/ easier and clearer. I look forward to still gleaning info from further developments, and your great videos and LiveStreams. Alan
( The main Instal Button on the left might be better named, Microsoft winget Installs ,just so that people get a better idea what it's about. The Instal button takes you to what is in effect a winget GUI, with a reduced personalised selection of the programs you are interseted in. )
I fkin full agree!?!? Also it does not remove the entire garbage Apps windows10 comes with, like sticky notes, solitaire collection, candycrush bla bla.... I thuink this guy has become a paid worker from MS
Thanks for the tool and being an teacher for me, i learned a lot through your lives! A good room for improvement either is setting up PSSCriptAnalyzer on github actions, so it'll pop up when doing something wrong or give warnings on the Security tab. I've done that in my script and helped me when following PowerShell conventions, but you can exclude unused/useless rules if you don't care about. Hope you're doing well!
@@LeDragoX ha ha I know I was drunk, but someone had just pointed out to me bots having a conversation with themselves on RUclips comments it was incredible.
Brilliant work. Thank you. On a side note, for those of us tech simpletons that are mostly concerned with the telemetry aspect, could you do a review of O&O ShutUp10++ and delineate the advantages of your script for that purpose?
Chris, all of my programs are still installed using Chocolately via your older Utility. How would you advise I go about migrating everything to Winget? Is it a case of uninstalling everything via chocolately and reinstalling through winget or are there other options?
You can find all your apps installed via Chocolatey using PowerShell as admin and running *choco list --local* Then if you want to remove it (including dependencies) type: *choco uninstall --remove-dependencies --yes * *Warning* : be careful in what you're uninstalling, you need to reinstall right after doing this. (I'm fine if this comment is removed or flagged, i'm just trying to help)
First of all, I want to thank you for this amazing tool! Second, I'd like to say that I couldn't install none of the "install" tab. I had to download those by myself. Again, Thanks a lot!
Beautiful wallpaper, it's Mendoza, Argentina. Almost on the border with Chile. It is called the bridge of the Inca. The bridge is a natural formation. Great choice. Great vid. Great Tool!
Why won't some of my apps open?? Microsoft Word and Logitech Hub won't open any more. I had to do restore to get the mail app working again (which I had to redo 10+ accounts for) and I think other apps are having issues. I tried undoing via tasks in the debloat tool, but it seemed to make things worse.
Great tool Chris, saves me tons of time with my systems. I wished all tools would do scaling like this such as hwinfo and cpuz. Currently I have to use magnifier to use those tools. I thank you for the scaling that is built into yours. If you have any suggestions on a tool that would only scale those programs, I would love to know about it instead of scaling up the screen with magnifier.
Downloaded, using the powershell link for now. I like the new menu style better. For anyone who is sitting on the fence, try it, you will most likely end up liking it. 😊
I watched a video you had posted in March that showed a different GUI with the ability to disable One Drive and Cortana etc. I don't see those setting in this current verion tweaks section. Am I just missing it or are they no longer available. Thanks for your assistance!
In this iteration, Chris concentrated a lot on the new GUI and extending the use of the Microsoft Winget App Packet Manager thing. He did also copy quickly across some of the previous Debloat and Optimisation script. I think that One Drive and Cortana stuff got missed. Some stuff was left out on purpose, some other stuff just got missed, ( or copied to the wrong place, or a button check box thing was forgotten or mixed up, Lol). Chris is taking a break from the tool for a bit. I expect he will take a fresh look at it and update it sometime.
Hello Chris. Congrats for all the hard work on the channel. What do you think about the current state of windows 11? Is it worth upgrading from Win 10?
Its pretty decent. I think the pros outweigh the cons if its your main computer. For my stream box and recording PC I still use Win 10 but eventually I'll upgrade them next year. For businesses, I typically wait 2 years.
At work my laptop did a force update on windows 11, completly blue screen me upon startup. pissed, about 15 hrs later playing with it, repair / restore had to download win 11 iso on usb... come to find out memory was bad, which was fine before forced update, computer was restarting and windows doing updates and it happened. Was it really the memory or did the update mess it up.... was on a year old laptop. PNY ddr4 32gb memory was in it. No more auto updates, got it back and working new memory and just ran this tool, turn off auto updates.
Great work Chris! I love this tool. For someone like me, that as slim to none understanding about computer software, Ur channel is amazing and this tool helps out soooo much.
Awesome tool, i ve done the laptop recommended tweaks and i believe something in those changes made my laptop take close to 1 min to shutdown/restart on a ssd , i dont know if its a bug or a feature
Hi, A lot of us have noticed the same. We are not sure if it’s a feature or a bug. Quite a few of us have used a fix that seems to work. RUclips won’t let me give you a full URL link, so I give you the last bit of a bitly link to a couple of other comments were the fix is mentioned: 3MXGlxb 3a7ZCNA Alan
@@alanelston2330 i cant find that link , i think the laptop tweaks modified the ClearPageAtShutdown value from 0 to 1 in regedit :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management and that was causing the delay on shutdown/restart , tho im not 100% if thats the actual case , setting the value to 0 seems to fix the issue or at least helps quite a lot. If im mistaken and thats not the actual case do correct me
@@saveboi3420 ( I tried those links, they seem to work for me ( you have to add either of those on to the typical start bit of a bitly link. ) ) But it does not matter - You came to the same conclusion as us, and what you said is the same fix we have been sucessfully using
It is a very good tool to tweak the settings and used for installing programs😯🎉 But in terms of apps, I would prefer the categorising apps in a horizontal layout(upto 3-4 apps per row) rather than vertical. So that you can expand apps in specific category and list can be scrolled easily. A simple explanation would to follow similar design(atleast in installation menu) from various package managers from mint and pop os. Also, while you are at it - move the update all option at the top. That would be great. I hope you find this suggestion useful👍
I saw this comment a few days ago by: "Saveboi": learPageAtShutdown value from 0 to 1 in regedit :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
1 of 2 Chris, regarding the Updates option, Security Updates Only _1 It appears that you are saying in the new “WPF” wintutil GUI that the delay is for 2 years. On the previous Forms win10script GUI it said 3 years. ? _2 I notice you have sneaked in 3 lines which may be the lines that actually do the important stuff. I always had my suspicions that something was not quite right with this script bit up until now. Does that mean that this never actually worked before, and you have quietly repaired it, hoping that no one ever notices?
2 of 2 Good grief, Chris, _ you waste your time over at that script development breaking place ( the one with a name starting with G) where all that seems to happen is that simple to cure issues come and go continuously and every Pull Push change codswallop seems to mess something else up. , then _ any actual working fix is just slipped in secretly? I don’t rate your pretty GUI for the Microsoft winget Package manager either. ( Characteristically it does not seem to work for many people anyway) Just constructive criticism, that’s all. As you know I love you, x, having learnt so much from you, and have a great Debloat script, from following yours and repairing everything that got broken, which in the meantime was most of it at some time or another, Lol. Alan
1 of 6 Regarding the main Tweak/Debloat stuff - The previous win10script ps1 script had colleted a lot of simple typos and mistakes that broke a lot of things. The script was getting messy. Chris copied across from the old win10script ps1 script to the new winutil ps1 script just some of the script - that some of the old script included bits thought to still be working. But Chris does not copy and paste too well, Lol, so some of the working things got broken by a badly done copy and paste action!. The main new thing in the new script is the pretty new GUI interface and the new application downloading stuff that just uses the Microsoft winget free software manager, ( and characteristically, this new stuff also does not work for a lot of people, lol! )

3 of 6 The great strength for me in Chris is his openness and detailed explanations. If you have the time to follow carefully all his stuff , you can catch all the errors and correct them and make yourself a good working script
Thank you, Chris. I have been wanting since FOREVER to rid myself of Microsoft Edge, as well as many of the other tweaks you allowed me to disable. I intend to return to your site and look more thoroughly for other equally useful and helpful advice. Keep up the good work, because - We inquiring minds want to know!
The app installer part of this script doesn't seem to work. I select Chrome, VLC, and other apps, then I click "Start install." A blue window appears full screen, but quickly goes away, no text appears on that window, then it says it's done but I don't see the apps anywhere on the desktop nor on the start menu. I don't think it did anything since it went so fast, it couldn't have installed anything let alone download anything. I also restarted the PC and tried to use this to install the apps again, but no difference. Using windows 10 pro.
The Install option is basically a GUI interface for the Microsoft Windows winget Package Manager. Most of the actual meat of what is going on there is then controlled by that windows coding which we have no access to. Chris script here does not much more than use a few simple commands that you could do yourself in the PowerShell window to use the Microsoft Windows winget Package Manager. That packet manager may or may not be installed on your version of windows. Installing it may be easy or difficult. It varies and in the past Microsoft have also changed things such that you might need to use and install it again or use it differently, such that the commands Chris uses in the script may not work anymore.
It’s a curious development to use winget in this way in such a tool thing. Not criticising, just saying, that’s all. There is lots of other useful stuff in Chris’s tool, but the main development in this new winutil script seems to be the pretty interface for the Microsoft Windows winget Package Manager I am not sure if that is much help, but may help to explain the situation a bit.
P.S. Chris has been using the winget on his script for some time, ( after originally using Chocolatey instead as the Package Manger for the Installs ). On many of these previous scripts a check was done to see if you had winget installed, and if not it tried to install it. But that was not without its problems and was the subject of issues and changes.
@@alanelston2330 i understand exactly what you're saying, interestingly enough last night I was experimenting by formatting my ssd a few time to do a few clean installs seeing the differences between the windows10debloater tool vs. Chris so called Holy Grail tool he been working on for a year and the debloater tool works way more efficiently than vs. Chris Titus does in removing bloat ware, windows apps, the windows store etc you name it. Strangly enough the windows10debloater tool was last updated a whole month before Chris Titus tool was released. Chris, I'm a RUclipsr and IT engineer at the largest school district here in Palestine and over the past 10 years I have used hundreds of software and tools and made a lot of tutorials on how to use them but this tool is by far my favorite and most helpful! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Room for improvement: 1. Give users the ability to customize the tool, for example the ability to create packs. (School software would be my first pack). 2. When choosing an app, give users the ability to see the corresponding winget command. 3. More options to customize windows.
Both Windows 10 & 11 are a big NO thank you for me. Users run scripts to remove malware and spyware right after an brand new Windows 11 install. I can't believe people spend 200 bucks for that MS crap that they do not officially own or can't control. A couple a months ago I installed Slackware 15 on an old MS Surface Pro 3 that once ran Windows 10, and it was one out of 15,000 Surface Pro 3's issued to 15,000 plus pilots which eventually had to be scraped and replaced for Apple products because pilots were being lockout in critical phases of flight and / or high failure rates. I have no issues with Slackware 15 on the Surface Pro 3 which I use everyday. Amazing how good it is. I retired after 35 years. The passenger aircraft entertainment systems run a special Linux operating system for flight attendant briefings or movies for 294 passengers on these 100 plus million dollar jets, FAA certified and have run solid for years. I should know.
Nice comment and I agree with your general sentiments. Unfortunately like a lot of people I am stuck with windows for a while, and stuff like this helps to ease the pain. (But you have to keep your wits about you and understand a bit about the workings of these decrapifying scripts, or you can end up doing more harm than good. I am slightly less keen on this iteration from Chris which seems to be predominantly a pretty GUI interface for the Microsoft winget Package Manager. But I learnt a lot by following the development of this and other people’s scripts, and although I have not quite got there, I am getting close to owning and going some way to control some windows 10 machines I have) In parallel I would like to get into Linux but really won’t have the time for some time, so I am grateful to people like Chris who do a lot of stuff to help and promote Linux but also don’t forget us who can’t get away from Microsoft so quickly.
@@alanelston2330 I agree with your comments. Chris is pretty sharp on making these Windows scripts. Also his making of Linux videos as well. Also I have used his and other scripts with success. My point is a purchaser of Windows products should have those options out of the box. I have used, and adapted to Linux and BSD from since the mid 1990's. Updating, managing and correcting these operating systems is quick and easy when you learn how. Linux has better security when you know how. I built a few Gentoo Linux (source code install) systems as well....:)
After using this, my PC now takes 15 minutes to Restart or Shutdown.... what is going on??! oh also, yesterday on startup, Windows reinstalled OneDrive randomly and messed everything up, I was furious. And I had removed ONeDrive years ago! so, very odd behavior going on with my PC now.. I tried undoing everything and thankfully an restore point to fix the onedrive issue. but PC still being weird! (I accidentally posted this on the virus video first)
More issues, Microsoft Word and my Logitech GHub won't open... sighh. this is depressing. my restore points kept deleting as it auto made more so I can't go back. I'm going to be very upset if I have to reset windows. Anyone know why my apps won't open? I've tried admin, many restarts. CCleaner. malwarebytes. I'm guessing necessary registry keys got deleted by these debloat tools. sigh.
Yes, I think so. Chris describes this new tool as like ..”Ninite on steroids..”. Chris’s new tool uses extensively for the downloading app stuff the Microsoft Winget Packet Manager thing. That’s much more versatile, and this iteration of Chris’s new tool is to a large extent like a GUI interface for the Microsoft Winget Packet Manager thing.

Hey Chris, I just wanted to say thank you for creating an amazing Windows Tool. I did, however, encounter a small problem. My sister just got a brand new laptop, which arrived today and I wanted to use your Windows Tool to help the performance and tweak it up a bit. When I got the PowerShell and everything working, I tried installing the programs but it didn't work. It wasn't until I tried an older version where somehow, it said something about downloading WinGet or the Windows Package Manager (I think). Then I tried the new version to download the programs and it now works. I was also trying to Tweak the laptop by removing bloatware and the MS AppStore programs but I think it isn't working. The laptop is running on Windows 11. Just a small comment, I still appreciate everything you have done and provided to us!
Hi, where i can get those older versions ? im having the same problem... whenever i try to install something like "7-zip" powershell opens and closes up with a "done" legend. Sry for the bad English.

If you buttons for setting up things like scoop or chocolatey that would be cool too.... as a linux first and windows on mainly gaming pc person... I like package managers too much to be satisfied with just winget.
@@semi. I use my own personally tweaked version of Chris’s last tool where I had the option to use winget of Chocolatey for the downloads because the winget seemed a bit unreliable. I might add scoop as a few people have recommended that.. In Live Streams Chris was considering adding Chocolatey and some install manager packages that themselves are available with winget. He probably left them out as the Install is bloating the tool so much. I am slightly puzzled by Chris’s adventure into the pretty GUI for the Microsoft winget Program manager. The tweaks have suffered: there were lingering issues he has ignored partly by only copying across some of the previous tweaks script to the new tool, and it looks like something else has gone wrong and other issues are cropping up. Chris swears by braking stuff as the best way to learn. He is continuing to learn a lot from his script, I think, and I do too, as I fix what he is breaking and add it to my working script!
In more recent videos and comments he said he will probably re introduce some of the missing stuff, such as Cortana The coding for that did not get copied across from the old win10script to this new winutil script. You can see a lot of the new script development in Chris’s RUclips live stream from Apr 29, 2022, with title Live - New Windows Tool Chris was mainly interested there in the new GUI, especially the Install bit, (which is basically an interface for the Microsoft winget Windows Package Manager). He copied across some of the old tweak stuff quite quickly, and missed a lot, and made a few mistakes. There was also a few long standing bugs and problems with the tweak coding, and Chris copied some bits he thought were probably mostly OK. But in fact some of them were not quite right either. In his recent update, he fixed some of that. Also some extra coding was added in the tweaks section, but it was mostly broken, causing problems, and in his recent update, Chris fixed some of that as well.
1 of 4 ( Have to split as RUclips Police Bot often deletes longer comments) Chris was very keen on Chocolatey a while back, and even did a vid on it. ( RUclips won’t let me post any full link, maybe it will let me post the last bit of the RUclips link mQI8OWeTpRo , that bit goes after the typical watch?v= bit )
2 of 4 Chris was using Chocolatey on his utility for a while as well. In fact as he first started writing some of the script himself, he added a bit in the script to add Chocolatey, first by default, and then optionally on a GUI button. Here’s the videos for that, same procedure as the last time…. Tfd7BXCo9Xk dO30OnTsJhk V27McA7ch6w The last one was his third script attempt, and first one using a GUI
3 of 4 Some people preferred that last script. That third video, was the one just before .._ _.. some script lines started to come in that seem to do nothing but break the default GUI scaling and resizing. (Remove those and the old script GUI behaves similarly to this new one…. ) and _.. from then he went on to use winget, the Microsoft Package manager. (This new version’s development is mainly a pretty GUI for the Microsoft winget Package manager. It’s what Chris is currently taking an interested in )
4 of 4 I learnt loads form Chris, but I use a modified version of his with a GUI more like the old one, but with the GUI and lots of other issues and broken stuff fixed. Chris says he learns most by breaking things. He continues to learn lots from his script development. If you follow him, and fix what he breaks, you can come up with a very useful and powerful tool and utility. ( I would never use his script “out of the box” , because it usually needs a lot of fixing and debloating, IMO and experience with it so far )
Chris seems to have changed the latest win10script so that it redirects or tells you about the new winutil script But you can still get at all earlier script versions. RUclips wont let us give full URL link, but I can give you last part of a bitly link. For example, add this next bit to the start bit of a typical bitly link 3NEU5w2 The bitly link you make with that will take you to the last win10script before Chris made it redirect to the new one I can also show you how to make the one command to run any older script later when I have more time if you ask me to

After running the recommended tweaks my pc would take quite a while to shut down so I had to restore from a restore point unfortunately, but it now shuts down quicker. if anyone knows what could be the cause that would be great!
I don’t know the cause, but I have some suspicions. The issue you are having is the one so far the most reported in these comments. What tweaks are you using? Are you using a PC or Laptop? If the restore is working to fix the problem, and if you have the time, I would suggest experimenting with the NumLock option After that perhaps you could do the same with Power Throttling and then Hibernation options The rest of the tweaks should be a scaled down version of the previous Essential Tweaks from the previous script, where I don’t recall this issue coming up.
There is an interesting issue from a few weeks ago raised on the previous win10script that seems to discuss this or something very similar RUclips won’t let me post a full link, so I will give you the last bit of a bitly link to get you there: 3PEBX7L The solution that finally worked there was also the one Deethsy suggests here

@@Thomas-iw7ps Great news. And good to know what u tried and the results, thx. I have seen that solution reported as working over a dozen times on both the new winutil and the old win10script script. Great work!!
@ChristTitusTech
Just an FYI, MOST people DON'T use powershell and don't want to use it to download apps.
@Windows Alternative Seems context is lost on you as you've very clearly missed the point I was making.
@Windows Alternative That's your opinion and you're welcome to it. Not everyone agrees. And if Chris want's more people to use his utility, he needs to make it easier to get at for most people or people who lock down their systems.

Oliver J. here just to say I have been appreciating you for the past two years.

Nice tool Chris, keep up the good work.
Thanks Chris! For your great work on this project, we all appreciate your insane work and the time spent to make it!!! Thanks again!
Thank you for all of your work on this project. It has been a pleasure working with you all these years.

Your new GUI does look very, very smart for a free open source, easy to get at script!
Its easilly comparable with some closed source exes. Its a great gift from you to us
I already caught this "WPF" winutil version you put out on Tuesday 10 May, 2022
I opened the script in the ISE, and rewatched the last few LiveStreams and videos on it. Great learning experience.
I am personally less interested in the smart rescaling, or the winget downloads, and the meat of the DeBloat, DeBigBrother and the SpeedyUpIn stuff has not changed significantly,
so for now I will stay with a personally tweaked version of your previous win10 version for the time being.

Chris, all of my programs are still installed using Chocolately via your older Utility. How would you advise I go about migrating everything to Winget?
Is it a case of uninstalling everything via chocolately and reinstalling through winget or are there other options?
Winget should intelligently read them already so no need to reinstall. Simply do a winget upgrade --all
You can find all your apps installed via Chocolatey using PowerShell as admin and running *choco list --local*
Then if you want to remove it (including dependencies) type: *choco uninstall --remove-dependencies --yes *
*Warning* : be careful in what you're uninstalling, you need to reinstall right after doing this.

But in terms of apps, I would prefer the categorising apps in a horizontal layout(upto 3-4 apps per row) rather than vertical. So that you can expand apps in specific category and list can be scrolled easily. A simple explanation would to follow similar design(atleast in installation menu) from various package managers from mint and pop os.
Also, while you are at it - move the update all option at the top. That would be great. I hope you find this suggestion useful👍

Chris, regarding the Updates option,
Security Updates Only
_1 It appears that you are saying in the new “WPF” wintutil GUI that the delay is for 2 years.
2 of 2
Good grief, Chris,
_ you waste your time over at that script development breaking place ( the one with a name starting with G) where all that seems to happen is that simple to cure issues come and go continuously and every Pull Push change codswallop seems to mess something else up.
, then
_ any actual working fix is just slipped in secretly?
I don’t rate your pretty GUI for the Microsoft winget Package manager either. ( Characteristically it does not seem to work for many people anyway)
Just constructive criticism, that’s all. As you know I love you, x, having learnt so much from you, and have a great Debloat script, from following yours and repairing everything that got broken, which in the meantime was most of it at some time or another, Lol.
Alan
His "essential tweaks" ruined shutdown and restart for me and many other people it did more bad then good for me

Regarding the main Tweak/Debloat stuff -
The previous win10script ps1 script had colleted a lot of simple typos and mistakes that broke a lot of things. The script was getting messy.
Chris copied across from the old win10script ps1 script to the new winutil ps1 script just some of the script - that some of the old script included bits thought to still be working. But Chris does not copy and paste too well, Lol, so some of the working things got broken by a badly done copy and paste action!.
The main new thing in the new script is the pretty new GUI interface and the new application downloading stuff that just uses the Microsoft winget free software manager, ( and characteristically, this new stuff also does not work for a lot of people, lol! )

Using windows 10 pro.
yup big same over here 💯💯 shyt ain't working for the installs at all
The Install option is basically a GUI interface for the Microsoft Windows winget Package Manager.
There is lots of other useful stuff in Chris’s tool, but the main development in this new winutil script seems to be the pretty interface for the Microsoft Windows winget Package Manager
I am not sure if that is much help, but may help to explain the situation a bit.
P.S. Chris has been using the winget on his script for some time, ( after originally using Chocolatey instead as the Package Manger for the Installs ).
On many of these previous scripts a check was done to see if you had winget installed, and if not it tried to install it. But that was not without its problems and was the subject of issues and changes.

But I learnt a lot by following the development of this and other people’s scripts, and although I have not quite got there, I am getting close to owning and going some way to control some windows 10 machines I have)
In parallel I would like to get into Linux but really won’t have the time for some time, so I am grateful to people like Chris who do a lot of stuff to help and promote Linux but also don’t forget us who can’t get away from Microsoft so quickly.
@@alanelston2330 I agree with your comments. Chris is pretty sharp on making these Windows scripts. Also his making of Linux videos as well. Also I have used his and other scripts with success. I like scoop for installing and updating, really easy to package for the repo too.
Can't disable Cortana anymore?
In more recent videos and comments he said he will probably re introduce some of the missing stuff, such as Cortana
The coding for that did not get copied across from the old win10script to this new winutil script.

Chris was mainly interested there in the new GUI, especially the Install bit, (which is basically an interface for the Microsoft winget Windows Package Manager).
@@alanelston2330 Okay thank you very much for the information, I hope you can put it again.
You’re best! I really like your work 👌🏻
for install i use chocolatey
1 of 4 ( Have to split as RUclips Police Bot often deletes longer comments)
Chris was very keen on Chocolatey a while back, and even did a vid on it. ( RUclips won’t let me post any full link, maybe it will let me post the last bit of the RUclips link
mQI8OWeTpRo
, that bit goes after the typical watch?v= bit )

Chris was using Chocolatey on his utility for a while as well. In fact as he first started writing some of the script himself, he added a bit in the script to add Chocolatey, first by default, and then optionally on a GUI button.
Here’s the videos for that, same procedure as the last time….

The last one was his third script attempt, and first one using a GUI

Some people preferred that last script. That third video, was the one just before .._
_.. some script lines started to come in that seem to do nothing but break the default GUI scaling and resizing. (Remove those and the old script GUI behaves similarly to this new one…. )
and
_.. from then he went on to use winget, the Microsoft Package manager. (This new version’s development is mainly a pretty GUI for the Microsoft winget Package manager. It’s what Chris is currently taking an interested in )

I learnt loads form Chris, but I use a modified version of his with a GUI more like the old one, but with the GUI and lots of other issues and broken stuff fixed.
Thank you for providing this! This was very helpful in reinvigorating an old gaming laptop running win 10 pro!
last update fucked all the app , noting is installing or working . old 2020 version was fine
Yea man the old one was great one. He disabled the old script, he could have it up as well.
@@bharatk6790 Old one is still available
@@schlafpooh5136 It was redirecting to the new one.
All still at G Hub. (RUclips wont let me give full 6 letter word)
RUclips wont let me give you URL link :(
Chris seems to have changed the latest win10script so that it redirects or tells you about the new winutil script
But you can still get at all earlier script versions.
RUclips wont let us give full URL link, but I can give you last part of a bitly link. For example, add this next bit to the start bit of a typical bitly link
3NEU5w2
The bitly link you make with that will take you to the last win10script before Chris made it redirect to the new one
I can also show you how to make the one command to run any older script later when I have more time if you ask me to
hello Chris I've been following your channel for a while, and if by some chance you see this thank you.
I was getting tired of my laptop slowing down, as a near graduate Mechanical Engineering student, I need my work space at peak condition.
I normally do not subscribe, but you have my full support, please don't stop fixing the digital trash coperations force on to shelves. Much love
After the Twike it's taking too much time to restart my PC . Any solutions?
it seems to be resolved with this register:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]"ClearPageFileAtShutdown"=dword:00000000
Great Tool. My Laptop speed increased exponentially with just one click. Keep updating it Chris. Thank for thr Tool. Tipping my BAT 🔺
Can you help me? Tweacks prevent my pc from shutting down :CCCC
@@CarlosRodriguez-gm4oy same as me it takes a long time can't find a solution
Spotify asks to be installed under a 'normal' account and not an 'administrative' account...."Please install Spotify using a normal account instead of an Administrator account."
This is amazing Chris, thanks for putting so much effort into it
its actualy not working for me
Same
After running the recommended tweaks my pc would take quite a while to shut down so I had to restore from a restore point unfortunately, but it now shuts down quicker. if anyone knows what could be the cause that would be great!
I don’t know the cause, but I have some suspicions. The issue you are having is the one so far the most reported in these comments.
What tweaks are you using?
Are you using a PC or Laptop?
If the restore is working to fix the problem, and if you have the time, I would suggest experimenting with the NumLock option
After that perhaps you could do the same with Power Throttling and then Hibernation options
The rest of the tweaks should be a scaled down version of the previous Essential Tweaks from the previous script, where I don’t recall this issue coming up.
There is an interesting issue from a few weeks ago raised on the previous win10script that seems to discuss this or something very similar
RUclips won’t let me post a full link, so I will give you the last bit of a bitly link to get you there:

The solution that finally worked there was also the one Deethsy suggests here
@@alanelston2330 Thanks for the reply, i'm using the recommended tweaks for desktop, I have tried the options you suggested with no success. I will try what Deethsy suggested and edit this comment if it worked!
edit: it works perfectly, thanks a lot Alan and Deethsy!
@@Thomas-iw7ps Great news. And good to know what u tried and the results, thx.
I have seen that solution reported as working over a dozen times on both the new winutil and the old win10script script. Could be good for a fix button if someone knows the script for it.
(I am less comfortable with the new GUI layout, (or the working which seems to be getting a bit messed up, as the last one was as well), and so I will still use my own repaired and modified tweaked version of Chris’s last script, and have fixes on it.
I will be trying to add this fix to it.)
It is a great tool, the functionality that I liked the most was the deactivation of unnecessary services. thank you
Eh, ninite is still easier to use
and ninite works. This Microsoft winget Package manager part ( and most other parts ) of this new tool does not for most people yet !
I've been using this tool as it's evolved over the years. It's absolutely spectacular how much quicker it makes my machines run.
yuk..yet another piece of garbage that pulls crap in from god knows where..and tweaks the system till its all but useless
Tech guy here... Subscribed and will Follow You! THANK YOU SIR!
The only "windows tool" that you need is Linux.
Thats, that…. Isn’t the point…
My favourite version of windows? X11
Awesome I always thought that ninite is outdated and also never liked that it wasn't able to update the programs at the sometime. So this is an amazing tool and thank you so much for putting the work in to create something like this
Yo Chris, this is sick - thanks!
your tweaks worked amazing on my pc! Thanks !
you are a genius Chris! more people like you in this world❤️ goal hug from Argentina!
I apologize for the digression. That place is "Puente del Inca" in my country, Argentina, in the town of Mendoza.
I was there, it is a truly beautiful and peaceful place. Thanks!
Excellent tool, i can't beleive it ! My windows 10 had 115-120 processes running at startup and now it's around 60 ! Windows 10 is awesome without all the crap
I will always support projects like this. Great work.
Great, great JOB Chris, I ve been following your work for 1,5 y. Regards from CroAtia.
I really enjoy Upgrade Installs :)
You rock dude, best utility I've ever come across for the windows environment
I've been watching you for at least a year now, imo you're the best windows/linux channel no bs, to the point, well explained, you always tell us why something is good/bad to use instead of expecting us to just take your word for it. But the biggest one is that you're not complacent, you're always working to better your channel, video quality, projects etc.
One thing I think would be cool is if you did another linux setup series like you did with Pop!_OS and Mint but using Nobara
Crazy impressed
Best thing I've ever seen
I will donate for sure
Amazing work
Massive thanks from ur Mate down under

PERFECT! I'm so glad this is out! This is going to help me TONS!!! Take my support sir!
Thanks for having the old script bring me here, I like what you been doing!
