I know this is from a couple of years ago, and you probably already have figured out the song more before now, but I think in Daze he's simply singing of lovers' passion setting the world on fire, as it were, because he's burning with passion and he doesn't care whatever else is going on in the world. "Will you let me burn" with passion for you, is the song's meaning, I think.
Yep - DAMN. The four-letter-word for "Masterpiece", here. Talking of Daze! As you say, you never know what you get with a song. Every single song opens up its own new world. Change of tempi and moods within a song, like it's nothing - and always surprising and often feels like never heard before in this combination. It's a miracle to me, how the band can keep this up. Must be the full control over their music and that they can do what they creatively want to do, with no other pressure than they put on themselves.
@@Reckyj Exactly my reaction, too. And I did 'complain' to the band that I had to have a Finnish friend or I would still not know! ;) I got their first album from said friend (Signs Of Life) and Sleep is the closer on that one... and by the time I came to Sleep, I was stunned and couldn't even remember when I last heard a full album where I was so in awe and just every single track was so remarkable, and for different reasons, too. From what I got told, the album stayed something like 2 years in the top spots @Finnish albums charts and rightly so. Try Shallow... it might not seem very interesting at first, maybe even predictable and a little boring, but the permanent background guitars literally soak you into the song and you'll be on a flow, if you let it happen. It's uplifting.
Daze is is one of my favorite music videos ever. Drama For Life is a PotF song that I didn't like..but somehow it grew on me and now I love it. Weird. edt. Ohhh, and the Happy Song, I never listen to it because it sticks in my head for EVER. I'm hearing it right now....why why why why.
@@Reckyj Yes, it's a song by PotF and MY GOD it is annoying. I had almost forgotten it. IMO they have no bad song as in low quality or bad sound. The Happy Song is just so..irritating. My boyfriend listened to it once and said it makes him want to murder someone, lol.
@@user-mq4vr7gq3j Well, it was meant to be annoying. The song was for the Alan Wake sequel. It's the theme song for the main villain, who is completely INSANE. XD It's a real jam, though. Really shows off the crazy.
It was around Jealous Gods (their 7th album) that their sound began to transition. Revolution Roulette was their 3rd album. They've stuck with a mix of rock/alt rock (mostly rock) for the past albums. But they started to go for a more, I don't know, indie/pop sound to their music. You'll notice in their newer songs they have more synthetic sounds added to them, and brought forward to match the traditional instruments.
@@Reckyj Well, I'm not always someone who says that certain music is bad (except for pop music). It's mostly just a transition that I'm disappointed with (being someone who likes their past stuff more). I actually really love Daze.
Another two music/video to react (POTF): ”The Sweet Escape / Partir Avec Moi” (there is english and french versions with little difference in mood) and ”Choice Millionaire”. There is also whole live concert with lyrics "Live in Moscow 2013"! There you can hear Marko Saaresto's amazing voice in live!
Awe cute kitty's one was getting its air time back there 😊👍 Wish they would have done a video BUT Locking up the Sun kinna same message and there is a video for Locking up the Sun and it's cool too. Not really a bad song but I can take or leave idk guess it's a fun song its Mr. Scratch from Alan Wake game theme song called The Happy Song there is a video somewhere. Thank you for the suggestions it’s greatly appreciated. I already did Sleep and carnival of rust. Carnival of rust was not live tho. But now I’m interested and checking it out!
