It's beautiful. I've been trying to think of something simple and nice to make for our new neighbor as a "welcome to the neighborhood" type gift. As he travels for business quite a bit, I think this would be perfect. Thanks!
I really like your design! I also agree with you about the Walnut and Hickory contrast. My thinking as I'm about to order some Business Cards & will be needing a Holder for them. With the way prices are these days I'll be making mine! But, I think I'm going to be using Walnut & Maple for mine. I'll let you know how it turns out when I'm finished with it, if you want.
Nice. I've made business card holders before, but not ones with a lid like that. Pretty cool. I may steal that in the future if you don't mind. (retired now, so not such a priority lol)
It would definitely make a great gift! I'm planning on making some for sale as I'd have several people want one. Though there may be a few I give away.
Thank you Nick, I made one last year (see my video #31 if interested) this year my new stickers are too big to fit so I need to remake mine so I think I will be copying your hinge idea 👍 😊
It's actually not as bad as you think. I find working with small things easier in a lot of ways as you can do fine adjustments with a piece of sandpaper. I think the hardest part is getting the stock to begin with as cutting those thin strips isn't always easy. Most of the stuff I had was from offcuts of bigger projects, so a great way to use up scrap!
I actually have some friends asking for a custom design for a wallet. I'm probably going to end up making a bunch of different styles, but this design could definitely be modified slightly to include a money clip! Great idea!
If you're a wood hoarder like I am And appreciate a good hardwood for $0 And if you have a rule King locally I suggest paying attention to the sales of their riding mowers because the crates that they come in are a spectacular hardwood👍👍👍 I'm thinking from South America. And now that the cat's out of the bag I hope nobody from my area reads this LOL
Thank you! I had a few set backs last year that caused me to focus on other aspects of my life, but I'm gearing up to make some new videos very soon! Thank you for the support!
Please define “stupid thick.” Great video! I must have gotten interrupted watching this. I saw it again just now and only had a minute left to watch. Great project, Nick!
My business cards are about 3 cards thick. They laminated three cards together, so the center card is a different color. It's a neat card, leaves them very substantial! Thank you Bruce!
Such a great build! I will certainly make one of these! Excellent video - flawless! But how thick are your business cards lol? :-) All the best to you!
I didn't put finish on the inside, I didn't feel it was necessary. It has held up surprisingly well and I have carried it around with me a lot. It did split along the wood grain near one of the miters, but I think there was already a small crack in the wood there, but it glued back up and I haven't had problems with it since.
I was actually considering that too, though I have a few other designs in mind that may work better. I'd love to see what you come up with if you do make one though!
The Every Maker - Nick a front lid one would be the more classical design, but I like this one, I'm not a woodworker(I have done some things but nothing fancy), but I'm a jeweler so I'm confident I can do this one on bronze(doing it on silver is expensive xD) and of course I would send you photos of it
The outside pieces started about 3/16 of an inch, but are closer to 5/32" after sanding. The inside pieces started at about 1/4", sanded down to a hair over 3/16". My measurements weren't that exact when I started, I just grabbed some scrap that I had on-hand and sanded until I liked the proportions.
Down to wood I can't throw away, looking for new projects. Thanks
Love it! This is a great scrapwood project. If love to see what you come up with!
Awesome design! Gives me lots of ideas
Glad you found it inspirational! If love to see what you come up with!
Love the great design, thank you for sharing
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Thanks Nick, I can't wait to try this.
I'd love to see it if you make one!
Amazing man
Thank you!

I'd love to see what you make if you go forward with it! This would be a great gift and I'm sure he'd appreciate it!

I would love to see what you come up with! Maple is a great choice, I just happened to have hickory on hand. Thanks for checking out the video!
I love this! My husband loves woodworking and we are planning on making a business. Such a great idea thank you so much!
I'd love to see what you come up with when you make it!
Nice! Did you use a metal or magnetic latch? The clicking sound it makes when closing is satisfying.
That was my original plan, but it has a slight friction fit to it that holds it together. It almost became just a fidget toy because of that sound!
This is awesome. My son wants one.
Maybe we can work something out, does he have lots of business cards? LOL.
Cool build and great music!!
Thanks Chris! I thought the music worked really well. This was a fun impromptu project, I'm glad to see you liked it!

I don't mind at all. Let me know if you do and post some pictures and tag me!
i like this very much for a gift
It would definitely make a great gift! I'm planning on making some for sale as I'd have several people want one. Though there may be a few I give away.
Great little project. I might try and make one of these myself some time. Subbed.
Thanks for the sub! I've gotten so much use out of mine, it's about time for me to make another!
Nice work, Great idea for the hinge 👍
Thank you! The hinge has worked out great,
Thank you Nick, I made one last year (see my video #31 if interested) this year my new stickers are too big to fit so I need to remake mine so I think I will be copying your hinge idea 👍 😊
How do you only have154 subscribers?!?!? Amazing! Wonderful build, great presentation, great flow! I’ll be watching everything you do from here on.

I agree. A beautiful presentation of how to build this. Would love to see more of his work.
I love your hair!!!
Thank you! I think I was having a good hair day that day, LOL.
This looks really great! Wish I could do something this intricate!

Great build! if you put a money clip on this it would make a nice thin wallet.
I actually have some friends asking for a custom design for a wallet. I'm probably going to end up making a bunch of different styles, but this design could definitely be modified slightly to include a money clip! Great idea!
Great job I might try to make one
Let me know if you do! I'd love to see it!

That is a great tip! I'm always on the lookout for good inexpensive wood! Sadly I don't think I have one of those stores in my area.
I really like your design, I don't have much experience working with wood, can you share the template and the measurements of each part? Thank you
I actually do have plans available at theeverymaker.com. Good luck in your woodworking journey, I hope you find it really rewarding!
Looks good bro! Great video!
Thanks man, it was fun and quick to do! Well, the card holder, the video took forever!

Well, aren't you fancy?! ;) I've seen some like that. It is a neat effect.
❤
Thank you!
Such a great build! I will certainly make one of these! Excellent video - flawless! But how thick are your business cards lol? :-) All the best to you!
Thank you! It is such a fun thing to build, I hope you do! My cards are three cards laminated together, so very thick, but very sturdy.
:-) Oh - I sent you a YT message. They dont always show up - so I just wanted to be sure you got it. Have a great weekend!
Did you put a finish on the inside, or leave it? I was also wondering how everything has held up in your pocket?
I didn't put finish on the inside, I didn't feel it was necessary. It has held up surprisingly well and I have carried it around with me a lot. It did split along the wood grain near one of the miters, but I think there was already a small crack in the wood there, but it glued back up and I haven't had problems with it since.
Awesome! Great job with your videos 👍🏼Looking forward to more :D
Thank you! I have a lot of projects planned, just a matter of getting back into the shop! I will soon though!
damn I like this one, I wil try to do it but in metal
I was actually considering that too, though I have a few other designs in mind that may work better. I'd love to see what you come up with if you do make one though!

Ronit Sood Ha! That's awesome, I'd love to see it!
How thick was each piece of wood that you used
The outside pieces started about 3/16 of an inch, but are closer to 5/32" after sanding. The inside pieces started at about 1/4", sanded down to a hair over 3/16". Do you have downloadable plans?
Not yet I'm afraid. I'm still working on my website and trying to get the plans sorted, but this will be one of the first set of plans I post.
