    It’s great when you apply a finish to your project, and really get wowed with the results. Great , simple project again, sir. I tip my hat to you.

    Great work. I agree about the glue on the rubber feet, what they use is junk at the best of times. I normally use CA glue on mine.

      Glad that you liked the show Charles. Thanks for chiming with your method of attaching the feet. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has experienced the lack of adhesive quality on these things. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

    Kenny, that came out fantastic. Great choice of wood and finish. Ok, you win, best use of scrap wood and for saving the best stuff. Words aren’t good enough for this one....👏👏👍👍

      Thanks for the kind words Paul. This project is pretty striking visually, although the design is rather simple. It's all about choice of woods and how they will contrast with this project. I love the ebony. Thanks for tuning in and for the kind words on the show. Is there a trophy or award for "Best Scrap Wood Project"? Should I prepare an acceptance speech? LOL

      I just love the way that the grain and colour really get to the full potential when the finish is applied. It's like a surprise package and you never know what you are going to get. Thanks for tuning in this week Dale. Great to hear your comments on the show.

    A pretty card holder.
    Rubber feet: putting the hot glue on the feet instead, will help centering them and make no mess on the wood... just a thought.

      Thanks for the kind words on the show Marcus and for chiming in with your suggestion for the glue application. The methods I demonstrate on the show are merely a suggestion and there is always an alternative method. Yours sounds great. Thanks for tuning in.

    Good day Kenny, great starting project for any woodworker kicking off as a DYI. By the way I noticed on the bottom you have a wood burnt logo or simillar. Can you tell me who did this for you, as in Australia there is not a lot of companies that do it.
    Regards,
    Wilko

      This one was given to me as a gift but I believe that they got it from Lee Valley Tools. www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/hand-tools/32191-non-electric-branding-irons
      A quick search on amazon.com, revealed quite a few options as well. I just searched for "branding irons for wood". I hope this help you out Gary. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

    Nice little project Kenny.
    I have noticed on a couple of your projects that you try to find the centre of a strip of wood. A number of years ago I picked up an OFFSET MARKER at a trade fair. It finds the centre for you each and every time.
    www.amazon.com have them for a few dollars but I bet you could make one .

    At time 6:57....What is that sliding, measuring tool you are using with the holes through it?

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  4 года назад

      That device would be my T-rule and it is made by INCRA. They are available at most woodworking suppliers or directly from INCRA. I got mine at Lee Valley Tools. Here's a link www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/hand-tools/marking-and-measuring/rules/58877-incra-t-rules. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in.

    what is the finished length of the two uprights?

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  6 месяцев назад +1

      @3:24 (roughly) I demonstrate how to cut the uprights. The lower measurement is 1 3/4" and the upper measurement is 15 degrees up from that. I'm not sure what the final measurement ended up to be as this project was given away. Thanks for tuning in.
