Just found this video and was so happy to see it again. I am going on the Eclipse in July to Beruda. It is only a 7 night cruise, but I love, love Bermuda and I am so happy to see this ship. I have sailed many times on the Summit and I just love it. This will be new to me and it is fun to watch this video again. I did see it before, but then I had no idea that I would be on it sometime. Some of the older ships had those lovely areas to eat outside, so I will enjoy it again. Don't mean to bug you guys, just wanted to know that the tour is helping me out. Got a chuckle from your recent visit to a Brothel. I was laughing at that one. To be honest, I understood it all, because I think you two are handsome.

Great tour. I like walkthrough types of tours best. Odd place to put ping pong tables, near elevator bank landings. I feel the Sunset Bar the Sunset Bar could be bigger. However, when it is too crowded you can go to the Oceanview Bar in the buffet that's really never crowded. The jogging track is good on this ship, doesn't have an incline like Edge ships. Incline is fine but for people with bad hips or knees, then it is an issue. Solarium is a staple on Celebrity and well done. Sky Lounge is invaluable IMO. Very flexible space. Great for viewing the ocean. Great for dancing and silent disco and nightlife. but you can do trivia and talks as well here It's huge and doesn't really ever feel crowded. It's a great space. IMO, this class is worth it over the Edge class because of this space if you aren't a suite passenger and most cruisers aren't suite passengers. Also think it is an essential area if cruising in Alaska. Spa areas keep evolving but I think this spa is extensive. I tend not to like the upselling that goes on in most lines in spas. Solid gym. Solarium and spa cafe is excellent.
Not for all cruisers, but some, libraries and card rooms are important. This placement of the library and style is very nice with the card room just below. Something I really love on the Solstice class that unfortunately was deleted on the Edge ships. I think putting the ilounge and Captain's Club areas in the small areas overlooking the elevator banks and tree was a smart and space saving idea.
The theater is big and nice enough but Edge series way improves on the theate. It's a nice big size and has good sight lines. I love the World Class Bar on this ship. I like the V shaped second table and I feel the decor is very classy retro-modern here. Drinks are way expensive but it's nice to experience it a few times onboard or if you are into high-end drinks this is your spot. The Beyond and AScent brought it back but the style is different and not my preference. Still, it's very nice on both. Area outside of the World Class is the Grand Foyer, not Grand Plaza, area. They're not just different names, and function somewhat similarly but not quite the same. The Grand Foyer was repeatedly called the Grand Plaza on this tour but on Solstice ships, it's the Grand Foyer. Grand Plaza is only Edge class ships.
The Ensemble Lounge is another reason why I personally prefer this class to the Edge. It's a posh, comfortable lounge that's kind of intimate and is a great before-dinner or just really nice area for music and it's right outside the superb Milano restaurant. Which leads me to the loss of Michael's. If you don't know who Perry Grant is, he's a legend on many cruise lines, Celebrity included. He's a piano bar entertainer. At one time, before it was lost to suite passengers, it was one of the hot spots on the ship because he was that good. There are other good piano bar guys as well but he was really treasured. Losing Michael's annoys me because as a piano bar, it was a special place.I just wish another spot was used for a special lounge for Retreat guests. But the Ensemble lounge does not exist on Edge and really, there's no excuse for it. It should. Passport Bar is another lounge type of feel that the Edge ships don't quite capture with their expanded Martini Bar. It's just a less "ship like" feel.
The specialty restaurants are all fine and a lot of the same ones are on the Edge. They're just a bit smaller on this ship. I would say Le Petit Chef is better on this ship due to its placement that's not on the Grand Foyer. So, noise from below decks does not intrude as it can on the Edge ships in their Grand Plazas. Tuscan Grille is Fine Cuts, sort of, on Edge class and not the main dining room Tuscan on Edge ships which is a bit confusing. The main dining room is large and can be noisy and I think the 4 MDR on Edge with different decor/ambiances is an improvement.
I much prefer the Martini Bar on Solstice ships. It just feels more special. It's too small due to how popular it is but it has small sections that feel intimate and the decor is so much nicer IMO. It's again, retro-modern. The tabletop is ice and keeps the martinis cold and there's a feeling you're in an exclusive club rather than in a hotel lobby space like it is on Edge. There's no music or dance floor but that's OK. You can hear music in it however from below when it is played. The Cellar Masters is going to be changed into Craft Social, a change I'm not fond of.
Celeb Central movie theater/secondary theater is unknown to some passengers. I like the secondary foyer. I like the small nightclub, Quasar though it is kind of underused.
Overall, to me, this Solstice class shouldn't be avoided because it is "older." I think it is a mistake some cruisers make to always go for the newest or biggest ship. Sometimes changes are made in the newer class that don't suit everyone. Know what you like and this tour is one of the best to show what is onboard this class of ship. IMO, this class of ship checks more boxes than does the newer and only slightly bigger Edge class. There is no magic carpet and the theater isn't as nice. There is no Eden. But, on Edge there are no Sky or Ensemble lounges, no basketball court, no card room, no library, more limited social spaces to dance and mingle, no lawn club or glass blowing but upgraded spas, somewhat upgraded solarium, a bit more dining spaces, expanded SUnset Bar, something called Annex on the latest ship and only that one, infinity vs. regular verandas which is a big, big deal and more space reserved for suite passengers if you want to spend that money. This is really more of the style of Celebrity ship that Celebrity has established and Edge is them trying new things and IMO, some of them will be repurposed in years to come while others will prove popular and successful. But Edge deletes a lot of the goodness in this ship as well. So, it's up to you. And, this is a far more intimate and IMO warmer feeling ship. But Edge ships are more contemporary feeling with the latest and greatest tech...for now.
This wonderful tour gets a huge thumbs up.

I cruised Mar 2023 and was disappointed with the buffet especially at breakfast. No soft fruits only melon, pork fat which was labelled bacon (it wasn't ) and on some days no mushrooms which were replaced with garden peas. Who has peas for breakfast? Not me. It's obvious that it's all down to cost cutting. Even in the restaurant I had to send back a dish because the lamb was inedible I could not even cut it with a steak knife.

Great tour. This ship is going to be doing a few sailings out of NYC in 2024, and since that's my preferred port, I'm considering giving it a try. I'll be doing Celebrity for the first time (Summit, out of NYC) in June, and really love the look of that particular ship based on similar tours. So here's my question: Simply based on ship tours, this one doesn't impress me quite as much as Summit. The Lawn feels like sort of a lot of wasted upper deck space, and the Sunset Bar (which I already know will be a fave) doesn't seem as well situated or as... "nice" for lack of a better word. Also, is there a bar in the Solarium? That would be a real selling point for me. And yes, I focus a LOT of my attention on bars. lol

    • @JJCruise

Interesting with the glass blowing that you said it was season based, but you were in November 2022 in NZ so that was spring, not autumn. Were there a many Americans on board, because us folks downunder do not necessarily associate November with pumpkins. Coming from NSW I would say purple flowers is November - jacaranda in coastal areas and wisteria in cooler climes (Blue Mountains, Armidale).
Having said that I very much appreciate the tour🙂
There is a saying at Sydney Uni that if you leave you studying for exams until jacaranda blooms, you’ve left it too late. At the uni in Armidale (UNE) the administration building was covered in wisteria. So the saying at UNE was leaving studying until the wisteria bloomed was too late.

Not hard at all! Two main elevator banks (one fwd and one midship). The ship seems to be very access-friendly. But of course, we cannot fully experience it the same way you would be able to. We do know that people prioritize those in chairs for elevators usually on Celebrity Cruises which we know isn’t always the case everywhere. ☺️

Always surprised how much prime real estate is given over to the basketball court, which on all the cruises we've been on doesn't seem well used

We see them in use a lot on other lines but you are correct, on Celebrity it is rarely used 😅

I think the grass looks neat, but it always has the signs that say not to walk on it most of the time. So I would prefer they get rid of it and put in high quality artificial grass that can hold up. Cool marketing concept, in reality not great.
