What other KIA has thin vertical headlights and DRLs like this with thin vertically styled taillights (other than new Telluride’s Cadillac esque rear lighting)? It’s obvious Hyundai and KIA were copying Mercedes heavily a few years ago in regard to the interiors, and have been inspired by Cadillac on the exteriors. This just looks like it wants to be a Cadillac EV or Volvo EV so badly, it honestly looks out of place amongst the Hyundai/KIA lineup. But those lineups aren’t very cohesive anyway. They literally put out a mosh-pit of things that’s already on the road elsewhere and hope people learn to love it. 🥴

I ended up leaving my 2017 Tesla MX 100D at the Kia dealer and driving home in my new EV9 GT, Ocean Blue with brown/black 6-seater interior, gorgeous. I never thought I would own a Kia. So warning to all, if you go and test drive the new EV9 you should be prepared to bring it home.
I wonder which vehicle has better room for adults in third row including leg room: EV SUV from Kia or from Rivian. I cannot wait until a proper American full sized SUV akin Suburban will be launched.
I own an R1S and pretty happy about all storage and room for passengers. Rivian is almost 10” longer than this and 3rd row has decent legroom and plenty of headroom (no slopey roof).

I love that Kia EV9. I love the sci fi and futuristic technology stuff. I'll like to be like a person in the sci fi movies like in Total Recall, Blade Runner, Cyberpunk, Demolition Man, Robocop, and Terminator. I want no more gas powered stuff and old fashioned way stuff. The old fashioned way stuff should become the things in the past. There should time for me and everybody to move on.
This will probably have a fairly large battery pack. Probably 130 KWh. Looks great though. They really need to find a way to build it in the US to get the tax credits.

I wouldn't say anything about this beast is beautiful, but it is interesting and modern. It is better to look at than the typical breadbox Tahoe or Expedition. Hey, its a gigantic people mover, which is very popular in N.America. Every manufacturer, including Hyundai Group, seems hellbent on pumping out new gas models in this segment. Thankfully, Hyundai is addressing this market with a BEV, Perhaps a full-sized pickup truck on this stretched platform could make it profitable. We'll have to see if they sell it in numbers large enough to make a dent.

No rear wiper without the flair out that the EV6 has isn't going to work well. It will be similar to what would occur with the Ioniq 5.

They are building a new plant for EVs in Georgia with production scheduled to begin sometime next year.
