1/8” hole drilled through the gas cap should stop the engine issues. Also slicks on the rear really help these karts out. Fewer chances of rollovers and helps with steering. Live axles don’t want to turn great so a little slip in the rear tires helps a ton
Got one from the road side and experienced the same 45 min runtime issue. I assume it's heat related steel rings in an aluminum head. Heat swell and a lighter oil may help. Not an expert though. Cleaned the carb, gas tank and replaced the pull cord and off running. Steel gas tanks is my biggest negative plus the fuel filter in the tank . External filter would be user friendly. A plastic tank would prevent rust and clogged filters.
I remember going over to my friends house and he had a 2-seater go kart and we never got hurt. If I had more land I would get them something like this.
