  • In this video I put together my own soldering iron using an M18 battery and a DC soldering station. This is so quick and easy I'm not sure why Milwaukee hasn't come up with it themselves.
    👍 Thanks for watching!

Finely built mine today!! Love it and now my coworkers are going to order stuff to build some too. I opened out the little control box and drilled some hold to put nuts and bolts in then cut the wires inside putting some crimps inside with a ABC5 fuse and holder. Can't use that 24V plug now since I cut the wires to it but it is forever going to be on my M18 battery power. Love how fast it is and in the setting you can set auto off for low voltage, time delay off, and so many cool setting. Love this new tool 🥰🥰🥰

Suggestion: use a dead m18 charger instead of the ebay adapter, this way you can flush mount the device into the charger, and have the soldering iron wire exit through the old a/c input hole.
I intend to build one in that way. Thank you for the idea!

Agreed. I loved my M12 iron but they just kept melting on me because of that stupid plastic collar. After I went through about 3 of them in less then a year I came up with this idea. If I’m starting a big project I’ll just slap on a 9ah or a 12ah battery and the thing will run for days. I’m really happy with this set up.

I'm kinda space limited on my toolbox... 56" is my every job box and my main box takes up 12' of a wall so... unless I drag a 72' to every thing in industrial maintenance job it have to get it to fit.
