The Hollowmen was a straight-faced and fast paced comedy-drama set in the offices of the Central Policy Unit, a special think tank set up by the Prime Minister to help him in his most important task - getting re-elected.

"Screw the details, smell the paper" I am dying right now too good
That Harold Holt gag is one of the most underrated jokes in any series ever.
Could you explain
@@wet_trash4711 Harold Holt was an Australian Prime Minister who went out for a swim one day (rumour has it that he was trying to impress a mistress) and he was lost at sea. To this day it's pretty mysterious about what actually happened. Rumours such as foreign submarines and others spread around a lot.
@@Caboose206Some say he is a pretty good swimmer... still hasn't come back.
Still gets me. Every time
Classic
"A fund?"
"Yes."
"And it's perpetual?"
"At least initially."
Best line: 'Balinese prisons?'
Classic! Still topical today! Sometimes I wish there was a third season :)
"Christ, Murph: can't we make happy films?" Too real.
If you know ANYTHING about the Australian Antarctic Program, that episode is 110% accurate.
If China decided to claim Antarctica we would immediately hand it over.
Loved this series. APS colleagues were horrified the show seemed to know what was happening in side departments. Writers were well briefed.
*impressed whistle*
Hard hitting documentary television
Absolutely brilliant.
We need a compilation of Geoff
The Ian scene pretty accurately describes the current federal government’s Housing Australia Future Fund.
Mel and Murph are such moods lol.
Geoff is my spirit animal 😂😂😂
"I don't do fruit"
A definite successor to yes prime minister
More like Thick of It.
Geoff giving off strong 'Veep' and 'Thick of it' vibes. That is how you run a meeting, boys and girls.
The sad reality is this is how stupidly fucked up the Australian government is
can you repackable and submit to GTV 9 to run after " A current affair".
Same script.
Love to be in the room at the time.
"Petrol Hits $2" poster behind Mel (2:43), it's still around $2-00 years since that series was filmed...and to think we sleep soundly in our beds at night with those buffoons running the country! They would have their work cut out for them today with Albanese as PM!
Yeah let’s go back to the most corrupt party this country ever had with a PM who secretly gave himself 5 cabinet positions as to have less people oversee his corruption?
