2021 UPDATE: This aircraft is no longer part of KLM's fleet. It was replaced by newer aircraft, including the brand-new Embraer E195-E2, which can be seen in the following Tripreport: ruclips.net/video/IGGqrx_XNa8/видео.html
Air France and KLM are my favourite airlines to fly with. I'm always impressed and satisfied with their customer service and clean aircraft, impressive fleet and the like.
Thanks for such a great channel. We are seasoned family travellers but we are taking my 13 year old niece on holiday next summer who has never flown before and was really nervous! I directed her to your channel and she has been watching all the different planes you've been on and isn't nervous any more!!! Thank you!!
The Fokker 100, the 70's bigger brother is hugely popular as a remote area charter here in Australia. Comfortable, good range and excellent short field performance. Embraer has stepped into the "Cityhopper" type market now.
Any airline that serves meals on such a short flight deserves to be praised. I flew on a one hour flight with AA and not even a cup of water was served.
Thanks very much for this trip report. I'm doing KLM F70 trip on Saturday 2nd September DUB-AMS. Seat 14F. This trip is a must before all the Fokkers 70 are gone.
Jawohl, die KLM ist Klasse. Bin ich schon sehr oft mit nach Toronto, Montreal und Vancouver geflogen und immer es ein toller Flug mit netten Bordpersonal.
I'll definitely consider it! Out of convenience, I'll probably go for Austrian Airlines' last Fokker flight, since I'm based in Vienna at the moment. :)
FlightBaseGermany i have actually been on Fokker 70, it’s pretty comfy and you feel safe, but i think the name is a little bit weird. But still super good!
@@prodbymariu5761 mkmutsen is also a little weird. Fokker is just the last name of the guy who started the company Fokker. Its a comen name in the Netherlands.
What a great way of flying.Fokkers are such classic birds and soon will be retired. This was a fantastic flight review in a special jet like this KLM F-70
Compared with other similar clips, I really appreciate that your clips does not show the face of any staff from the airlines and airports. That's really important to protect the privacy of others. Well done!
I was waiting impationally for a trip report, knowing it was friday xD it was worth waiting for, awesome video! High quality, keep up the good work you guys do!
I flew these "guys" in 2005 and in 2007, what a smooth flight, I loved the KLM service and the quiet feeling inside the aircraft, much better than a lot of the newest ones. Nice to know these planes are still in service, I'd like to go in there again!
Flew twice with KLM, loved the service! The IFE was very good, food was awesome, (as i never ever eat airline food, that's a big thing 😂) and the seat and legroom was very decent! (Although i think having a full row to myself helped a whole bunch 😂)
4:12 I flew on that exact plane, TF-ISO in 2019!!! I even have a video of it, first on my channel. Wow, I flew on the same plane as Simply Aviation, I'm simply honoured!
You videos make me realize there used to be dozens of companies from different countries that have the capability to manufacture commercial airplanes, which, unfortunately were defeated under the competition from Boeing and Airbus.
by the way, i dont know if you guys know this, but if you use an oyster card or a contractless bank card, then you can travel between the 3 underground stations at Heathrow for free!
I always associate the name 'Fokker' with the 'Fokker Friendship F27-100', which flew the national routes of New Zealand up until the 1980s, IIRC but are now on display in a couple of museums. Little oval windows, they were cute as hell and just a great wee aeroplane. Turboprop engines did great service for NAC - National Airways Corporation that was owned by the New Zealand taxpayer and was swallowed up by Air New Zealand, which I think is 53% NZ owned now.
Fokker 100 and 70, the best engine sound of all times ! They should really restart production ! At 11:35, why did they shutdown engines before stopping ? I thought tows were used only to leave parking position, not to take the airplane to parking.
Why inefficient ? It was a fast aircraft. I used to be onboard Fokker 70/100 many times, on Austrian Airlines. Now that they have been sold, they use Bombardier Q400 on the same route (Lyon-Vienna). The flight is 30 minutes longer with the Q400. That's why I hate turboprop aircrafts. The Fokker was a very comfortable aircraft, and one of the best cabins, with leather seats, that's not very common these days.
This vid is almost me flying back from London last sunday! Was at Costa's and was sitting in the same location at the gate. My flight was in an Embraer 190.
Great tripreport as always. I have a question for you, frequent flyers. I'm flying via Heathrow to Toronto in summer and my connection there is around 7 hours. So I would like to ask if it is possible to leave the airport during connection and if so, what to do with checked baggage?
I believe it is possible to leave the airport if you have a connection over 6-ish ours. With British Airways they will keep your luggage in the airport but you have to sign a paper that you need to be about 2-3 hours before your flight back at the airport depending of your destination. But I am not entirely sure so correct me if I am wrong.
3:03. UK has a very funny tax rule. The food is VAT free, but if food in restaurant, it is a service so incur 20% VAT. And more practical although he also said he doesn't agree with that and they should source from a local supplier
Your dad has an awesome job! Hopefully they'll get soon a local supplier! :D

Austrian Airlines does still use them in Europe. Some other users are Air NIguini, Alliance Airlines and Insel Air!
Air France also operates or at least operated it.
