You actually have very beautiful, voluminous, healthy-looking hair which proves that tailbone length isn't everything...Your tips are very sensible and doable, too...
The protective styling and playing the "waiting game" with shampoo the hair is KRYPTONITE! I always thought that the buildup, debris left on so long can't be good. I would think of more backlash than dirt....like smell, ringworm, traction alopecia and breakage. Thanks for implementing ways for our coif to flourish!🤗🙌
1. I moisturise daily. 2. Wearing a head wrap stops my hand in hair... Um.. Habit... 3. Weekly shampoo. 4-6 weekly chelate and clarify. Yeah I have very hard water. 4. I detangle watching Netflix and Amazon Prime on damp conditioned hair with a seamless comb. 5. Who are these "no conditioner" people? 🤣🤣🤣 6. Who are these "no leave in conditioner" curly/kinky haired people? 🙈🙈🙈 7. See point 3. 8. Due to point 3, i wear weekly short term protective styles. No more long term monthly protective styles for me. 9. I have two styles. Twists and French braids. I don't style my hair every day. Ain't nobody got time fuh dat! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 10. OK I'm guilty. I'm scissor happy. My stylist is the one who doesn't want to cut too much. Lol! If I find a knot out come the scissors. Lol!
The proactive word that covers all basis in hair preservation is Accurate KNOWLEDGE followed closely by PATIENCE. RUclips land sometimes has fairytales and fables that people believe to be true. NOT!. Perception will never be true. Simply put, simplicity is all that is needed for haircare. Treat it like a plant and water it on a consistent basis. Treat it like skin (which it is!) moisturize it to keep it pliant. Remove particles like cleaning your floor to make it shiny and new. Declutter unnecessary and expensive products. And then watch it grow like a beanstalk. Now thats my story and not a fairytale.
When I tell you that this was the church I needed today!!!! It was definitely the word of, “that’s not a protective style… it’s a neglected style” whew I know that shook the room! I’m also happy you spoke about clarifying the hair more often! A lot of these gentle to mild cleansers, just aren’t cleansing the scalp and strands enough! And especially the naturals who are heavy handed, and use all of these layering methods, but don’t want to cleanse their hair… are just wasting their time, money, and products! Thank you sistah💖💖💖
Thank you for making the distinction between protective styles and neglected styles! I was definitely guilty of that when I was relaxed and got various extension styles.
All great tips. I'm most guilty of impatience regarding detangling. I usually tell myself that I chose to grow my hair to this length and I like it so I need to care for it. In order to combat both my issue with detangling and my oily scalp I shampoo and restyle more frequently. It usually ends up being about every 5 days. I always say 5 - 7 days, but rarely wait 7 days because 5dys seem to be my tipping point for tangles and oily scalp.
I have this problem. I constantly touch my hair and look for pieces that stick out/ pieces that are uneven. Guess what with curls it can often feel that way even if it's not . And end up chopping at pieces myself sometimes with subpar scissors. No more.

It's amazing how many ways not cleansing can affect the hair and scalp
Exactly

Do you have any videos on what regular not deep conditioners you like?
I don't think so
Do you think scalp massages work to improve the health of the scalp and hair growth rate?
I'll answer this question in next weeks Q&A video
