I've been wearing my afro out daily in public for a month now after 5yrs of being natural. I always claimed it was just protective styling but I really just didn't want to be a spectacle in my everyday life so I hid my hair away. Having a Pinterest board with ONLY 4c hair inspos and smaller channels like yours really helped normalise it in my head before I took the plunge and now I've never felt more comfortable and content with my appearance everyday 🤗 ❤.
Me too, I've been wearing my wash and go, got lot of questions at work, at some point I will come in with my fro, more questions am sure but I think am easing them into the change. Well done, we have to keep showing up as ourselves and until it becomes normal and questions stop.
I have to give you credit for putting me on to the kazmaleje brush, the elasticity treatment, whether it’s ouidad or olaplex and of course my wash and go combos. You have definitely shared quite a few gems over the years and I look forward to learning more from you. Thank you for always providing well researched and practical advice to your audience!
"I hope this video was helpful," MA'AM. Yes. Yes, it absolutely was. Thank you for sharing your routines and your experience with your hair. Selfishly, I'm just so thankful to finally see someone with *what appears to be* the exact same hair texture, density, and strands as my own. Really appreciate you and your content!
This is my third watch of this video and I live for the fro!! I fully agree that our hair can change and tools and products can aide that. I always 😒 when people tell me “natural hair is hard.”
I love that Ouidad mask but i react to one of the ingredients (burning feeling) I replaced it with Olaplex. I agree with you, elasticity treatment really make a difference.
Afro season is back! Yay! I've been loosing a lot of hair recently and I think my detangling brush might be one of the reasons. One thing which has help counter balance the disaster is the Olaplex bond oil. Its light, absorbs easily, deals with the crunch and helps my ends. I agree with the benefits of a hooded dryer in particular given my hair weakened state when hair drying for hours is not a good idea. My issue though is how to dry the bottom of my long-ish hair without frizz. Lastly you're right about moisturising shampoos, although they are not equal so finding the right one is key.
I think something is wrong with my grip because that Kaj....( y'all know what I'm trying to say) brush is heavy and awkward in my hand. I wanted to love it 😭.
I've been wearing my hair natural for a year now. Before I was relaxing since a very young age. I must say I'm loving my hair more and more now. Also like moisturizing shampoos too. Thanks for the hair tips.
I always use a moisturizing cleanser for my second cleanse, and hunny!!!!! Definitely a good brush, serum on the ends, elasticity treatments, and a hooded dryer have taken me a long way!!!! Thank you so much for these tips over the years!
You look so beautiful! Your hair is flourishing & so gorgeous! 😍 These tips are great, I agree that the Denman is more of a styling brush than a detangler. And moisturizing shampoos are so crucial! 💯 xo 😘
I have been watching you for a few years and have learned so much from you. I still have incorporated in my wash routine four of your five secrets. Elasticity treatments is at the top of it all. I have tried all the ones you mentioned as well. IMO all of them do the job. Curlsmith even came out with one as well. So which elasticity treatment was the best for you? Thank you for sharing.
These tips are great. I really agree with the tip about moisturizing shampoos because I’ve been using a more stripping shampoo lately and it made the conditioning process a bit rough. I also tried the ginger rinse and found that my hair was soft but I didn’t know if it was counterproductive because it has oils in it.
Love that fro!! That Camille Rose ginger cleanser is sooo good! I can't decide if I love it more than the TGIN moisture rich shampoo, I think they might be neck and neck. They both leave my hair feeling so soft and so clean :) I just learned about these serums I need to do some more research. Do you have a video specifically talking about them?
I swear by chi silk infusion on the ends of my hair no matter the style. I’ve had way less mechanical damage and retain so much more length then I ever have.
Love the fro! I have yet to try any elasticity treatments, so that's next up for me. I'll have to try the one by Mo Knows Hair, because I love shampoo from that line. There are a few serums that I plan to try, including the Monoi one by Carol's Daughter. That Melanin oil looks so good too. TFS!
Triple cleans has made a difference in my hair (1. clarifying, 2. strenthening, 3. moisturizing cleansers). I have hi po hair & I love dc with heat (soft bonnet dryer) because it binds ingedients deep into my strands; moisture etc lasts longer over the week. I love serums, too. Can't wait to try my Adwoa blue tansy serum!
Thanks again for another great video. As for serums I think it really is do what works for you. Cosmetologist cyndoll have a new video out, " cream vs liquid leave in" and she suggests serums too.
I dropped my Kazmaleje brush and the front teeth broke, I'm so hurt. I really love the brush, wish it had a different design to prevent damage if dropped. Now I'm back on the brush hunt 😭😭
@@Iivfitz I would buy another but it's too expensive to keep buying if it breaks. With use of conditioner/slip it's bound to have an accident again. I did really love it though. I may have to convince myself to give it one more shot lol
Mine dropped and two of the teeth on the side broke off too within a month of me buying it. Luckily, where the teeth broke off, I’m able to grip the brush right there and so far it has not fallen out of my hands…it’s been a few months now. Yes, I agree a tweak in the design is needed otherwise it’s a great brush
The first time using that brush I was shocked at how slippery it is. I went to Walmart the next day and purchased the tape used by tennis players to give their rackets more grip. I wrapped that around the handle and haven’t dropped it since.
Great knowledge as always! I’ve used all of these techniques - literally ALL of them - from watching your videos (new and archived) since I started transitioning March 2020 and big chopped May 2021! You’ve been consistent and thorough and honest, and I appreciate that! Adwoa Beauty has a new, silicone free hair serum. I’m interested to know your thoughts on it! Edited to say I just watched your “Fall” video where you said soon you’ll do a review of the Adwoa Besuty Tansy line (that has the hair serum). Can’t wait! 🤗
Sephora have the Limited edition of the 8.5 oz of Olaplex No. 3 on their website. The 8.5 oz is soo much better to get out than the 3.3 oz. I am stocking up.
@@Star-dj1kw also the reason why I love the 8.5 oz is it more than the 3.3 oz. Two 3.3 oz which 6.6oz will cost the same as the 8.5oz. You get an extra 1.9oz for the same price as paying for two 3.3oz. I had purchased 3 of the 8.5oz as the website mentioned limited. Nordstrom use to carry the 8.5oz and I haven't seen it again on Nordstrom website.
This may be a silly question but is a hooded dryer able to dry longer curly hair? I’m more of a 3b/3c texture with hair past my shoulders and trying to grow it out more…
That's a great question. Mine hangs out of the dryer when wet and then shrinks up. Yes it can, but you may still have to use the diffuser on the very ends for a bit.
I need help! I have that brush but it still takes me 1.5-2 hrs to detangle my hair. Idk what to do... I always prepoo and finger detangle too but it takes so long still
If you are not doing it, try detangling in the shower with your conditioner or deep conditioner and add water during the process. Since I have been using this process, prepoos are not necessary and detangling is a breeze.

That kazmalaje brush is the truth! Detangles my 4c hair so much easier and cut my detangling session in half!

Your fro is he one ☝️ PS. I’ve taken note of putting silicone based serums on my ends - great idea 💡 thank you 🙏
The fro is so gorgeous!!!!

The Kasmaleje paddle ... life changing ( if you have coarse hair, detangling is a breeze) ❤❤❤❤👌🏾
You are a hair guru!

All 5 are great tips: I can second elasticity treatment (Ouidad melt down) and a Hooded Dryer (very low porosity)

Loved this video. I do use a light oil on my hair daily. I'm going to pick up an elasticity treatment though. I didn't even know about those!
I love Pattern Beauty's brush, the Denman was too flexible for me
I honestly love the yellow shirt and afro combo its really cute
Thank you so much!

Denman jacked my bangs up and now my hair won’t curl correctly in the front - I was 😭 so upset !!
I cannot get the brush to work for me for some reason. I've had one for years. I think I would prefer a thinner version of it. Less paddled.

Leave parabens and sulfates alone. Find a good protein treatment and a good heated dryer.
My hair just never dries it takes days even with a hooded dryer. I'll be under it for hours
She mentioned something that may help a bit - have you tried the elasticity treatments ? Bonding sometimes helps with porosity-
@@STP255 thanks I will give it a try. I get so tired of styles never coming out right cause it's wet for days in spots
Would you consider curl smith bond salve an elasticity treatment?
I've never tried it
either thats mielle product or your address that you are hiding with that blur square lmbo
