I do the EXACT same routine. I drench my hair in moisturizer in the same order 1x a week. I have mini twist I did myself. Water is my first step and then I use a aloe vera, glycerin and honey concoction mixture followed by leave in moisturizer and olive oil, rosemary and peppermint mixture to seal. I then squeeze my twist together to get in all the products. I stick strictly to this regimen no matter what, after my hair is dry, I put my hair up and twist it within itself to cover all my ends. My hair thanks me for it every time by delivering length mid back. I actually use 2 silk scarves plus a silk pillowcase. My sister thinks I'm extra but guess what? She seen the results and started doing the same regimen. :)
Speak the truth sis 🥰! Love that spritz concoction wow! Very humectant rich spritz. What ratios do you use particularly with the honey because I have tried honey in the past and may have used too much because my hair was hard😅!
@Coily Diaries hi 👋 there! I use 2 cups of aloe vera(plant) with 2 tablespoons, each of vegetable glycerin and honey. I whisk the mixture very stringently. The leftovers I store in the freezer in ice cube tray. I hope this helps! Oh, I forgot to mention I defrost at room temperature and then run it under warm water in a closed jar before application.

Guys, if you don't know, GET 👏🏾 TO 👏🏾 KNOW 👏🏾!!! I've tried this routine on my high porosity hair. The best thing i could have done for it. This girl knows what she is talking about. 💛🌻
Girl!! Let me just come back to report that you convinced me to try glycerin with this video and I FINALLY know what it feels like for my hair to feel moisturized, while it is not damp or wet! I’ve been natural for 9 years. My hair characteristics include 4c, high porosity, fine strands, with medium to low density. Literally all the characteristics that make length retention the hardest to achieve in my opinion. I mix glycerin with aloe Vera gel and water in my spray bottle. Then I top it with a conditioner mixed with a diy henna:fenugreek infused oil, and a diy henna/fenugreek infused whipped Shea butter. I also started using henna tea spritz a few times a week, and that’s makes my scalp feel lovely and my strands feel strong, which is high porosity ladies really appreciate. But the glycerin has made my hair feel moisturized!! So thank you! I’m amazed at how long it can take us to find out what works for our hair. I understand why some ladies give up and go back to relaxers or just slap on wigs and braids. Learning your hair, especially as a seasoned adult with a variety of responsibilities, is not for the faint of heart. 😅 It really can get exhausting!
This is so exciting to hear! When I found out how moisturised glycerin left my hair I made it a mission to spread the news! Yet to try aloe. The combo must be bomb! What ratios do you use and is the water in your bottle just tap water? My water is hard so am starting to use spring or distilled 💕
The tap water here is very soft and is what I use, but if it weren’t, I would probably use distilled water also. I just eyeball the ratio, but I would say it’s close to 1/4 glycerin, 1/4 aloe gel (the kind you can drink), and 2/4 water. Let us know if you ever get around to trying aloe vera. Thanks again for sharing the good news about glycerin! 🌸💕
@A_Wilson our hair characteristics are very similar and the retention struggle is very real. Can you share more about your diy henna and fenugreek mix and spritz? I purchased a large bag of fenugreek seeds and realized I don’t know how the heck to use them!
When you said you only need three products I hit subscribe. I have been doing this for a while now. Water leave in conditioner and castor oil. My hair loves it. It’s simple and easy. 😊
Putting all that moisture under a heating cap for 15 - 30 minutes would be magic. Cuticle would open up and receive even more of that goodness. I'm about to mini twist and I will use this method plus the cap to maintain. Thanks for sharing Sis!
Thank you for sharing. I was just asking myself if anyone shared a video with dry hair, split ends and over processed. I didn't want to cut off my hair a third time. And then your video popped up🥰 I'm taking notes, unknowingly, I already have most of the oils stocked up except lavender and rosemary which I will get. I'm so exited, I'm due for a wash today. I'll start my regime today also. Keep sharing. I've read the other good comments in your chat. I love how we all embrace our natural hair. Thank you.❤
@GuidedMeditationtonstoManifest at which point do you sit under the heating Cap ? After spraying the Glycerin mix or after the Castor Oil ? & by the way I love your tag ❤ I wanna start meditating but idk how to do it
@@missladyzee44hey Sis! I put my heating cap on after I've applied all of my leave ins, sprays, and oils. This works nicely for me. You may have to play around with the order, but that's half the fun....figuring out what our hair likes. As far as mediating, start slow and keep practicing. And don't think you have to start out with a long period of time. Try short increments. 3-5 minutes a couple times a day will help you develop the practice and even this short amount of time can be transformational in your life. Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out any time Miss Lady!
I can attest glycerin in the mix is the best moisture for my hair too-I’m low porosity and so glad I tried vegetable glycerin. Natural hair is all about trial and error.
I feel everyone's hair is different to the point where you just have to try different things to see what works for you. For me my hair hates glycerin it just sits on my hair but aloe Vera juice does amazing in my hair. I use extra dark JBCO and it is the truth for hair growth. My go to oil for what I actually add to my hair strands is avocado oil. It actually penetrates the hair shaft. It's also great to eat and on your skin!
I have suffered with dry hair for so long that I thought this was my life! I have read books on caring for your hair, I was even looking at a hair scientist on RUclips that was offering so many things about hair retention and growth. None of them has come close to what you offer in this video! I started this treatment September 07/2024, I was going to wait a month before writing to you, but I can’t wait!!! Girl when I say my hair is feeling GREAT, is an understatement! I did everything you said and in the order, I have had my hair out of the twist for about 4 days and my hair is still hydrated, & NOT dry at all! I am going to have a wash day this Friday and do the treatment again. Thank you, thank you so much from the root of my hair to the tip! I am going to keep this up and see where my hair will be September 07/2025 God spare my life and I will try & update you again! Thank you again, much love from Canada ❤❤❤❤❤
I just wanted to say I tried this method for my hair and it worked WONDERFULLY. I am sooooo grateful I stumbled across your video. THANK YOU. You’ve given me hope to grow my hair. It’s never felt so soft and it’s never been so well stretched as it is now. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Truly!
I’m defiantly 4cccc and will be trying this as one of my “try something different”, plan for the new year! I’ll see you at the end of the new year for an update!👋🏽 Water+VegGlycerine+Leave in+caster oil to lock in moisture +essential oils for scalp conditioning + gel for edges (shine)+ lock in ends with a protective style #ROOT2TIP
Not me pausing your video to go and moisturise my hair with water and glycerin, then my leave in conditioner and coconut oil since i dont have castor oil at home and thereafter coming back to finish the video. Thank you. I needed this motivation
Nice to hear this, because I also spritz my hair with a glycerin mix of water, glycerin and a small amount of grape seed oil. And I mix it in my curl gel too. Oh yeah, a tiny bit in my shampoo. My hair is always moisturized. 😊
I love this simple routine with only a few products. My hair is thick and short. I can finally get a top knot but it’s a struggle. I just need to see more growth and moisture retention. Thanks for all your tips this sister needs all the help I can get on this 4c hair.
Awww thanks so much for the credit girl 💖💖💖 The second you said "secondary protective styles" I literally applauded 😂 congrats on this video blowing up and all your other success 💕
Today is Day 8. My 4C low-porosity hair is very soft, and not crunchy-dry like the Sahara. My twists look a mess, scalp getting a bit itchy. But overall I really love this method, and can't wait to retain some good length to achieve my hair goals! Thanks so much for showing us this method xxx 🙏🏽 Blessings

you are absolutely right! Low porosity hair actually needs MUCH products to keep moisture locked as sealed in hair. All this time I didn’t know high concentrated oils really helps and does wonders. Avocado and Castor oil are GREAT! 😊💯
This is one of the best hair hydration routines I have seen. Thank you and I look forward to your content. I love your simplicity and tips. Best to you sister!
This video was not only helpful but reassuring as well. My hair is going through a tough time rt now, so I watch your videos to give me hope. Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial for us!
I am upset!!!! I have been using glycerin on my very dry skin for more than 10 years!!!! Couldn’t imagine life without it. Why have I not thought to use it in my hair???? I have been using it in my hair for about 2 weeks now and my hair is actually thriving 😭😭 Thank you!!
I can’t wait to try this! Thank you. I finally nailed my wash day, my hair was always dry after wash day, well my hair does not like coconut oil. Now I do a hot oil treatment and use a butter to prepoo. My hair has been moisturize now for days.
I have been struggling with dry hair for so long and just found a routine that works for me, and keeps my hair moisturized for a week before I wash. Water, leave-in conditioner, my DIY butter and definitely castor oil for sealing. Castor oil is what I was missing all along. I totally agree with you. This video is great. Thank you.
I mix Shea butter, blue magic grease, Jamaican black castor oil and some Essential oils(mainly Peppermint, lavender, rosemary and Tea tree oils). That's it.
@@jackietucker1172since you put this kind of bitter on your hair.. i think you don't need to add any type of oil on your hair.. won't it be too much ? Or that's your preference ?
This was a good reminder for me to get back to my water and Aloe Vera juice. My hair loves Aloe and it's a good humectant as well. Your hair looks great!
Thank you for this tip. I moisturize consistently but my hair would not stay hydrated. I added glycerine to my routine last night and Sis. My hair is hydrated, soft as butter.l has sheen and looks GOOD!! Thank you, thank you, thank!!
U just saved my life 😅😅...wow I've been touching my hair in unbelief for days now. I'm so used to dryness in about 12hrs😢it's been 4 days and I haven't had need to add a thing not even water. I did it bit different to u but same ingredients....I'm really thankful. Hard water damaged my hair from 2018 to 2021 it was horrible!!!!! Thank u thank u thank u
nice tips! I'm about six months into my natural hair journey. I've tried it off and on for a number of years, but this time I really want to stick with it this time. Because it hasn't grown out to a length where I can put it in a ponytail yet, I've been alternating between braids/twists with extensions and a wig because of my job. When my hair was in twists, I kept it in for 3 months and there was so much growth. I took it down and have been letting it rest under a wig until I get it rebraided. Under my wig, I moisturize and put it in mini twists. I've been putting a satin doo rag on before I put my wig cap on and sometimes after I moisturize, If I'm home, I'll put a plastic shower cap on with my bonnet so my hair can soak up all of that good moisture.
Thank you SO much for sharing this routine!!! So many curly hair influencers are sharing hydration methods that are so insanely high maintenance and expensive - and I just don’t have that kind of time - but I want to keep my hair moisturized!! I feel like I’m being villainized for not properly maintaining my hair, but in reality, I just have such a busy life and only so much time to upkeep my hair throughout the week… Thanks for sharing this doable, accessible routine!! I’m going to try this next wash day :) thank you so much!!
Thank you. You just reminded me how good castor oil is for my hair. I used to use it years ago and my hair was thick and healthy. My twist outs were beautiful. I will resume this weekend along with the glycerin and water mixture. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for your tips. I use to envy those with with high porosity hair as nothing would penetrate my hair at all. My hair and skin is very very dry and I’ve tried for years to find what worked for me and failed each time. It was quite depressing period as I then only go back to back with protective styles. It did damage so I did a big chop this year. Now I’ve been watching a lot of videos and your tips resonated with me. I tried tgin and my hair didn’t like it but when I used my old product Garnier Fructis leave on conditioner, my hair loved it and it contains glycerin. who would have thought
Just stumbled upon this video. Yesterday, I had my hair washed, did a green tea rinse and moisturized generously with a leave in conditioner. I apply some Ayurvedic oil with coconut oil into the leave in conditioner. Hair feels so good and still moisturised. I have extreme hair dry and loads of breakage. Just started my hair growth journey. Thanks for sharing.
I love how you say, try what works for you, and not follow step by step of others. I've used castor oil before, and it was too thick for my relaxed hair in transition. This time around, I tried it again. It feels great working it onto the natural part but not the relaxed ends. I added a few drops of my oil mix for scalp and ta da! It's not too thick and not too thin, lol. ❤❤❤❤ i have so many questions that will spam you comment section, lol. But what i will do is write them down and experiment with them on wash day and when moisturizing ❤❤❤❤❤
I use Castor Oil for my scalp, Leave in Conditioner, Olive Oil, and SCurl (Jeri Curl activator) all over my hair and ends. I use Shine & Jam for my edges too. No product hype for me.
I’ve been using glycerin and rosewater, to moisturize my hair for a few years now I absolutely love it makes my hair so soft I’m going to try the Castrol oil for the sealer Thank you with this video
@@CoilyDiaries glycerin and rosewater combine nourishes, and strengthen your hair especially your ends. It’s done very well for me. And it smells nice.

Greetings beautiful,I started using the vegetable glycerin a long with my fresh aloe vera gel on my hair every 3 days. I love to moisturizing my hair. Thank you for reminding us of the vegetable glycerin. I have a product that has loads of glycerin in the moisturizer. So I spritz water,on my hair then I add my aloe vera,n the glycerin is applied last awesome ❤❤❤ n my hair looks n feel so moisturized ❤❤❤❤ Organic Glycerin is the awesome truth
Ur hair is lovely n think, I do basically the same as u I use clove water although I've added coffee to the clove water first time, I make my own rosemary oil n castor oil that I too spray in after my waters so it feels so good then I also make my own rosemary grease leave in conditioner which makes my hair feel so rich. This time last year I shaved off my hair completely bald because of the lupus n the hot weather last year n side effects which was in my scalp sent me crazy. N one day I woke up at 5am n cutoff all my locks, though I've done that several times but its been donkey years since I've proper cleaned my hair like that. So I'm persevering as I'm growing my hair back, the best thing I can say is that it's growing up thick n lush so yes I love when it gets treatment every few days. So as I watched u, I did my hair n yes I'm very generous in my application. Thank you for ur tips😊❤ have a great night 🌙
I just moved to a colder climate and have been struggling with my hair turning straw like. I seem to be moisturizing every other day. I'll definitely try this method.
Cold air lacks humidity. Using a humidifier indoors helps. Glycerin is a humectant; it sucks moisture from the air unless there isn't any. Then it'll suck it from your strands, so watch your ratios and seal well. Keep your hair covered as much as possible with a silk scarf, scully, etc. Warm products before applying to hair.
Thanks for this. I’m getting tired of giving so much money to salons. My hair is now long enough to get into a pony tail so I’m going to do chunky twist myself then add hair to get a fuller bun at the top.
I stumbled on your site, & glad I did. 1st, it opened with you speaking straight away, without loud music & elaborate videography; nice music by the way. Anyway, your hair is my moisturized dream. I used equal parts glycerin & both distilled & rose waters. Your recipe calls for way less glycerin. Good to know probably why I didn’t like the effect and stopped using. Thanx!
hey sis, are you saying you tried my ratio of glycerin and it didn’t work? with glycerin changing ratios to suit your weather is key. guess I should make a video😅. I hope it’s working for you. I have never looked back since glycerin
I tried this after watching your video but I used shea butter instead of castor oil, just because it's what I could get my hands on. The result: My hair had this soft texture I've never felt before, and it stayed that way the whole day, very unlike my hair 😂. I'm looking forward to how well this texture stays on till day 4. Either way, I know it's a game changer already just from the first trial. Thanks for sharing honest tips. Channels like yours are hard to come by ❤️

You get a follow ! I truly believe the Ancestors sent me ! 4c , now I did dye it blonde, however, it never ever ever came out until just recently 😭😭😭, it was just a couple of spots, now it has grown back! My hairstylist was pregnant, and not available, so I need something I I can do on my own in cases like this !
Thanks so much for these tips, especially the simplicity of it all. My hair seems to love all of the products you mentioned - I just thought it might be too much all together.😄 I will be trying your routine out soon. God bless!😇
This is my first time on your channel, i am happy with your explanation,i have never taught of glecerine, i am gonna try It , thank you so much for sharing
Once you find what works for you, stick with it. For me, moisture is water but moisturising has to do with how that moisture is maintained. So if I find ways to keep the “water” in the hair longer, it’s a win! Consider this, Sebum is the the best moisturiser for hair and yet it is not water.
Best moisture routine I have come across, simple and easy to follow and maintain. Thanks so much @coilyDiaries, I will implement this for me and my daughters.
I don't wet often either I can go up to a month if I wanted to that's the cycle my beautician mom had my hair on. No spritzing in between. Usually by the 7th day she is beautiful. I use creams, oils, sometimes hair grease. Depends on the weather. Today it is 105 degrees so I wet and conditioned after 9 or 10 days lost count. Most of my creams have glycerin in them. I use a rosemary glycerin amala cream. If I oil after wetting usually jojoba it mimics your scalp sebum. Where i am they sell real castor oil. Which will mat your hair. If it doesn't it is mixed with something I found out from usage.. Yes it is about finding what works.
That's amazing you're able to keep your hair moisterized for up to two weeks with the products you use. If i waited that amonunt of time without moisterizing my hair would be dry as a bone and probably break off like a twig lol.
@@CoilyDiaries I believe it's glycerin I use when my hair is pressed, it's Fantasia with coconut oil? I use a thick leave in conditioner & grease or coconut oil. I have high porosity thick hair. I moisturize on average every other day.
@@renettegordley3493 mmmh not sure about fantasia. What percent glycerin do you use in your spritz? Also. Humectants and pressed hair would make hair frizz up real quick. How do you maintain this?
Hi Coily , a new subscriber here, I just came across your videos and have been watching them and I think your suggestion of adding Glycerin rich spritz instead of pure water to my regimen is a great one, so I have been testing it for the past week to see if this adds to my hair. My hair is always dry, i moisturize every other day, I drink a lot of water and my hair is still dry. I have watched your video on Hydration vs Moisture and it makes a lot of sense , so as I said before, I added Glycerin to my regimen to see if there will be a difference to my hair. thanks again and congrats on the expansion of your family.

Hi, [my comment is EXTREMELY LONG, so do PRESS PLAY🔼👈so you don't ware your eyes 👀😅out ] your channel popped up on my screen, as they do, and it tuned out to be a hella coincidence! Last night I was trying to work out what was the best moisturizer for my 4c thin type hair (but definitely 4C😧) So I sat there pondering and 3 guesses...GLYCERINE came tomind; I just bought a bottle of it on Amazon to add to some Ayevedic oils 🤗 It seems we are definitely on the same page because I also use the same hair oil as you on my scalp already. For my sealant oil, although I have castor oil, again I just bought it for yet another Ayervedic oil treatment, I have had the JBCO for some time, but wasn't feeling it too much...not sure why, I think I just didn't really give it a chance 😕. However, sometime in January 2022, i tried making a FENUGREEK OIL; i simply placed some Fenugreek seeds into a jar and poured in some oil of choice...can't remember what i chose, but it would probably have been Olive or Grapeseed oil.I was suppose to leave it for a mth to mature, but i forgot all about it and it remained on top of my kitchen cupboard for ENTIRE YEAR!!! 😲🤭🤣😅 It was only because i was Spring Cleaning that i discovered it up there! 😄 GIRL! Let me tell you! The quality of this oil is outstanding! It is sooo rich and smooth! The appearance is EXTREMELLY GLOSSY! It looks like lip gloss in appearance, but a really high quality one 👌 The amount of moisture it gives for such a small amount is STUNNING! 💫 I love it, so that is what I'm going to try for a while because, to me, it's like having a fine aged wine in my hair the kind that cost a fortune due to how many years it takes to mature the wine, in my case the oil. Lastly, I know about the tucking in of your ends for protection, I learnt about this when i was 14yrs old...I'm 60 now. I used to moiturise my hair, then platt it loosly, then tuck it in gently till it looked like little mounds on my head and i, along with my school friends, would all wear our hair like that to school; we called them CHINY or TINY BUMPS, not sure if we should've been saying CHINESE BUMPS! 🤔😅😅 Very protective and very effective. I doubt you took the time or HAD the time to listen to all that, but it's there if you ever do! Thank for sharing your knowledge and I shall SHARE you Chanel in turn. Bye for now! PS I HAVE LIKED AND SUBSCRIBED
Hey there 😊 Thanks for taking g the time to share your experience! Oil like gloss? Can you share exactly what you put in the jar and the amounts?
Testifyyyyyy🙌🏾! So true
I agree. The glycerin is a game changer for me. Thanks!
Agreed 👍🏽!
Me too
Right 😅
But I'm lazy and hate spending money, that's exactly what I don't wanna do 😂

The best moisturizing routine explained on RUclips for 4 type hair. THANKS SO MUCH, GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND KEEP GOING!
Thanks hun 🥰 glad it helped!!
Not me pausing your video to go and moisturise my hair with water and glycerin, then my leave in conditioner and coconut oil since i dont have castor oil at home and thereafter coming back to finish the video.
Thank you. I needed this motivation
Yaaaaas!!!! Wait till you feel it when it’s dry!! Love it 😍
Same!! 😂😂
Where do I get glycerin? What is the name of a glycerin product?
Nice to hear this, because I also spritz my hair with a glycerin mix of water, glycerin and a small amount of grape seed oil. And I mix it in my curl gel too. Oh yeah, a tiny bit in my shampoo. My hair is always moisturized. 😊
Speak the truth! Always 👌
I love this simple routine with only a few products. My hair is thick and short. I can finally get a top knot but it’s a struggle. I just need to see more growth and moisture retention. Thanks for all your tips this sister needs all the help I can get on this 4c hair.
Simple and minimalistic has been a game changer for me😍
Awww thanks so much for the credit girl 💖💖💖 The second you said "secondary protective styles" I literally applauded 😂 congrats on this video blowing up and all your other success 💕
You are so welcome! Hope you are well🌺
Today is Day 8.
Yeah should probably make a video about what to expect. What are you using on your scalp?
Hiya. I use Dax Kokatah. I get buildup quite quickly and the Dax seems to keep my scalp greased for a while. Perhaps I need a better shampoo
@@lovealways1257 or just a better scalp routine 🤔
Yes. What do you do for your scalp? I've tried a lot of things, but only the Dax Kokatah seems to keep the build-up away the longest 😕
@@lovealways1257 So in the spritz, there is a glycerin and water mix in a 1:5 ratio respectively. The scalp oil is olive oil, peppermint, rosemary, lavender & tea tree oil in a 2% dilution. Details here ruclips.net/video/ngxZAIK-Vuk/видео.html
you are absolutely right! Low porosity hair actually needs MUCH products to keep moisture locked as sealed in hair. All this time I didn’t know high concentrated oils really helps and does wonders. Avocado and Castor oil are GREAT! 😊💯
Thanks for sharing!! love castor oil

Booom! Better late than never 🤷🏽♀️
I can’t wait to try this!

Thank you.
So nice to hear you are having great results!!! 😍👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
What do you include in your DIY butter?
I mix Shea butter, blue magic grease, Jamaican black castor oil and some Essential oils(mainly Peppermint, lavender, rosemary and Tea tree oils). That's it.

Congratulations 🎉 for giving it another shot! Protective styling Is truly beneficial! Love ❤️ the idea of a plastic cap to space everything on.
Thank you SO much for sharing this routine!!! So many curly hair influencers are sharing hydration methods that are so insanely high maintenance and expensive - and I just don’t have that kind of time - but I want to keep my hair moisturized!! Thank you. You just reminded me how good castor oil is for my hair. I used to use it years ago and my hair was thick and healthy. My twist outs were beautiful. I will resume this weekend along with the glycerin and water mixture. Thanks again.
nice 👍🏽.! remember if you wear your hair out a lot reduce the glycerin content so the style holds. try half a tsp glycerin to half a cup water

Nice! Glycerin has worked great on my hair 🥰

Hey sis! Great to hear a similar regimen is working for you aswell, excited for your journey and the luscious hair that you are growing❤️
I just moved to a colder climate and have been struggling with my hair turning straw like. I seem to be moisturizing every other day. I'll definitely try this method.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Ok 👍🏽 sound great 😊! Human hair seems less drying than synthetic hair to me.

I live in the desert. I must moisturize (water is the only way to moisturize) and condition at least three days a week.
Once you find what works for you, stick with it. For me, moisture is water but moisturising has to do with how that moisture is maintained. So if I find ways to keep the “water” in the hair longer, it’s a win! Consider this, Sebum is the the best moisturiser for hair and yet it is not water.

Aloe juice added to water works gr8 too
Yes true!! Am adding that too!!
Yes it is about finding what works.
thanks for sharing 🙏🏽
And when you tuck the ends it prevents snagging on clothes causing your hair to break etc yessssss definitely tuck those ends
very true
That's amazing you're able to keep your hair moisterized for up to two weeks with the products you use. If i waited that amonunt of time without moisterizing my hair would be dry as a bone and probably break off like a twig lol.
