As someone who spend his entire weekend slaving over matching black points and comping for a project it is both a joy to see this and very infuriating to see that there is a match blackpoint tool.

Excuse me..... Why Supercomp is Super slow while rendering?
I have an idea, why not making the matching colors have the ability to update for the animated objects?
imagine Mazinger is flying from the front island to the furthest island, animating the black point there will be a bit painful.

I think doing compositing in After Effects instead of Nuke it is at least a pain in the ass.
That's why we made Supercomp! It's actually doing node-based compositing, but right inside AE!
It makes comping fast and fun.
As a Fusion user I'm most impressed with the new gamma options. Color management in AE is and has always been a nightmare. This looks like it takes some of the misery out of it for After Effects users. Now you need the ability to load OCIO config files for people who are in ACES or other workflows
I wish this was developed for blender.

its to support them , you see they work really hard to make amazing products for us , and 99 dollars wont hurt :)

Using Red Giant in After Effects feels like what I imagine it would feel like to get a Ferrari, then use a big crane to lower that Ferrari onto a Johndeer, then use pullies and duct tape to sinch the two vehicles' tires so that they spin together, then get into the precariously perched Ferrari and use it to drive the Johndeer around at speeds it probably wasn't meant to go.
Thank you for comparing us to a Ferrari; we know what color it would be! (Red...it would be red.)
This actually isn't a terrible comparison. A Ferrari is good for one thing (going fast around corners) whereas a tractor can be used for an almost uncountable number of tasks around a farm (plowing, baling hay, pulling feed, loading dirt, etc.). We offer plugins that do some certain things really well (like Particular) whereas After Effects can be used for a crazy number of things from creating character animation for a popular TV series (e.g. Archer) to (nearly) every bit of mograph you see to visual effects for television and film to other, more obscure, things.
That said, we really more see it as we're a collection of attachments you can buy to add to your tractor (and the attachments that came with it).
The VFX Suite though...yeah, we're pretty proud of how many useful features are in it! (And we're working on some more.)

Also if Ferrari made a tractor, I'd buy it.
Especially if, let's say, they partnered with Lamborghini, who has a history of making really good tractors. ;)
Supercomp Panel Is Empty Open ????
I cannot find any tutorials for Red Giant products on FCPX. Everything is on Ae or Pp
Hello please really need help I have a shadow pass and ambient occlusion pass and even after setting this to multiply when I put it in super comp it goes back to white and black and when. I try to change this it doesn't work I don't see a multiply blending mode
So I noticed that supercomp is not honoring my Luma Mattes, any idea to work around this? I'd masked out some areas in the background to throw my elements behind but supercomp wasn't playing nicely. Has anyone else had this experience? I absolutely love the software otherwise. The only workaround I found was to use masks on my FX layer itself to limit it to the area I wanted. But the Luma Matte would have saved me time since it's just a Background layer with curves / levels.

We do not currently have color matching as a standalone tool. We suggest working in Supercomp because it also gives you superior light wrapping and a bunch of other useful tools.

I would like to study on a moving character. Likewise, you just tried on the picture ..
It stinks I can't use the match color plugin in and edge blur on their own like the old keying suite. Everything has to be in supercomp, not efficient when you are working with alot of clips and just need those few effects.
Does the background match feature animate as something comes closer or moves further back in the comp?
no, this isn't 3d. You COULD animate the black/white levels though and get a similar effect.. basically you'd have to set the layer in the background where they blend right, then keyframe.. skip forward move them to the proper placement within the scene and color match or simply adjust the sliders until they blend and so on.

me too, red giant supercomp gives black screen error, it doesn't show in the preview, how can I solve this problem?
Usually black screens in Supercomp are related to issues with the GPU. What GPU do you have? What driver version is running your GPU?

Issues like this with Supercomp are usually to do with GPU issues. If you have an NVIDIA driver, try installing the latest Studio driver from NVIDIA (and not the Game Ready driver).
are supercomp work with tracking , cause i cant work with it , just if fix shot
Supercomp works with some kinds of tracking with no issues. What sort of tracking are you talking about?

@@ahmedabdelsalam1240 Supercomp does not currently work with 3d layers. If you precompose each 3d layer, you can use the collapse transformations switch on the precomp to make it behave in 3d space and work inside Supercomp.
I hate it breaks lots of things! Like 3D layers, trackmattes.. ect :((

Nice, but if you really want to do compositing, learn Fusion or Nuke.
This should have been a free upgrade, not a $200 charge. To release a new VFX package and then charge for a few features less than a year later is not reasonable.

This robot isn't cool.... Plzz if you show something about your product don't make it boring... Try something like Andrew Kramer....
Andrew kramer literally does next to nothing these days as far as tutorials go. As far as this app goes, the robot is a moot point. Being able to color match so easily and reactive layers interacting with each other as they should makes comping a LOT easier.
