Good stuff !, i watch all your vids, my dad was a prof. At yale u.,, iv'e been drawing/painting, since 1965, a person ,, is never too old,, to learn, or pick up new techniques !, i paint in oils & sometimes acrylics. Thank you for your videos, a straight forward teacher, with the right attitude!
I've watched dozens of videos on how to paint clouds, because I have trouble with them. This is the first one that I've seen where the shadow is painted first and then the rest is put in. Makes more sense to do it this way, in my opinion. Going to try it this weekend. Thank you !
Wow, that is the best and easiest cloud demo I have ever seen!! I’m working on a painting, did the clouds (my way), I’m going to practice this method and redo my sky!! I c artist use a “blending” brush but I never have figured out what they r actually doing when they r blending! Just bought a synthetic hog bristle fan brush-it’s on like popcorn now! Ur a genius. Ty soooooo very much! I’m subscribing to ur channel!!! Love it!!!!!!!
AWESOME!! I am brand new to painting, so new that I've never picked up a brush. I just bought some paints and I'm going to try this as my very first project. I even have a fan brush. Subscribed!
oh my gosh.... im almost tempted to show you how i did clouds and now how you have taught me to do clouds.... can i ever thank you enough? im so excited... you are a GREAT TEACHER! YOUR PAINTINGS ARE WONDERFUL!
Thanks so much for this lesson. I have just painted my first cloud, and it doesn't look too bad {even if I say so myself}. Your lesson was so helpful - kept pausing and rewinding as I followed your instructions.
Mr. Bickford, Thanks for the excellent demo on painting clouds. Your explanation on colours used and your demonstrated technique are so educational and enjoyable for those of us who aspire to improve on our meagre talents. Thank you sir!
Thank you I usually have trouble painting clouds and water do you have a video explaing how to paint water ? Thankyou I love your paintings there awesome!!
HI im Robert Gaunce, 15 year old artist , . I always enjoys watching these videos, and i had a question. Alot of times you mention a white base coat or a medium. im not really sure what that is, and how to use it.. ive only painted once in watercolor and im new to oil and acrylic, do you have to put a white base coat in order to blend the colors well..also i saw your comment on you making your own line of palletes brushes and paints and such, are they available yet? cheers
ugh! painting believable rocks is such a pain in the neck for me! I've watched your video on it and dozens of others. I get the concept, i understand perspective, shadows & highlights, I can do it easily with a knife but i don't always want it to look like it was done with a knife...bullocks.
I’ve got to stop watching alot of other than Bill and Bob painters. You created way too many steps. Bob adds dark and light colors then blend the white. I prefer the filbert brush for cloudscape

Acrylics dry much, much faster.

good! great!
I just have a small question and it seems rather insignificant. Is that a book or a notebook that you're using as a palate?
Jazz it up!

Painting fall grasses
Yyy
Nice work, but i think it is way too symbolic, i think it should be more like, realistic.
Still good work, man.
