I'm always very excited to have other incredibly esteemed classical musicians join my vlogs. Hope you enjoyed this! What's your favorite part? See you next Saturday on Dreamstage!
We enjoyied this really much!!! (I think my favorite Part was your both thoughts about First rehearsal as to get to know each other) But I saw your story and have to say pleeeease don't be sad because the views or something from RUclips! You really do such a beautiful Job😊 you inspire and help so much people, don't be insecure because of less Views. It could have so many reasons, the views doesn't define the worth of it. Just do what you love. Your videos are so amazing, I loved your last vlogs ans it's very sad if you are sad about such great thinks. You are amazing! Thank you for all you do💕😊🎶 (And of course i will watch your Concert, it's great that you can Help other musicians and I hope it will Work Well and bring a lot of money to Help👍)
Loved the whole vlog. It's funny when Jan introduces himself... Then you both laugh, 😂 then I also laugh. 🤣😂 On a serious note, I'm always on board for any blog, Tiffany. Please, please don't be sad about the "low views" thing? You're always spreading positive energy. That, is always appreciated. 🤗❤️
To me it was the statement - when you know the piece so well you can forget about yourself and focus on listening to the other. I think, it is true, that music is at its best, when it is almost subconscious yet responsive. I especially enjoyed the 3rd movement with the charming "concussionate" head dancing on display from both of you.
I think what Jan said about listening instead of thinking about music was really interesting, I guess when you feel each other in terms of musical expression you can come a lot further and also faster than constantly discussing things.
Yes, at 11:30 he said listening because discussing can only go so far (my paraphrase). I'm sure musicians do a lot of thinking too, but listening to their partner(s) surely comes first.
This video made my day. When I woke up in the morning (hong Kong time) and see Tiffany uploaded a new video, I'm sooo happy. Guys turn on your notifications so you won't miss a single vid
Thank you Jan Vogler for contributing to this vlog, and the interesting remarks and information. I loved every minute, and look forward to the concert January 23rd!
Ahhh - Bach! On my 18th birthday (a few years ago....) I got a small collection of sheet music called the "Joy of Bach". My joy goes to quite a different level, when listening to Bach in the hands of such wonderful musicians. The 23rd stands out in the calendar; the vital elements are in place - their lighthearted humorous approach, Jan's emphasis on listening while embracing his Strad and the Tiffany light yet clearly articulated touch. Life could be worse.
The sounds of these two instruments make a perfect match. Their tone ranges are far enough apart that there is no conflict. One line of lead is beautifully complemented by the other. More, please.
I love how you played with cellist. Right now I am playing piano and cello. The first time I watched this vlog I was really confused. 6 months later, I really like watching you guys play together.
" I think I'll just listen rather than think in numbers " , isn't this the true difference between feeling the music and analysing it ! . The one thing that holds the key to all the different styles of music . Without it there is only relationship , but respect . With it there is a kind of Holy Grail , of eaverything musical .
Both of the videos from this rehearsal are great! I only began playing the cello a year ago, and the piano + cello duo is actually one of my favorite configurations to listen to, so I was quite excited to see a cellist on Tiffany's channel. Both relaxing and informative, love to see this type of content
Great crowdsourced Q's & thoughtful A's! Definitely got the impression Jan & Tiffany were having a nice time and feeling comfortable and both enjoyed a good rehearsal. Really looking forward to the Dreamstage.live concert when we get to hear the entire performance! 😀🎶💖
Okay but am I the only one who gets an enormous amount of motivation to practice piano after watching Tiffany’s vlogs? Like it’s 2:37 am and I want to practice piano lol
I loved the intercourse of piano’s and cello’s voices in Bach Viola da gamba no.2! I think chamber music is the most amazing experience a musician can have, it so joyful and exiting!
Very interesting idea from Jan in this video. "Nobody can do anything alone", even when you are playing alone the instrument is an important partner -- Jan said he has have great respect for his cello as it is much older and "culturally important", and made by a great maker. This is truly inspiring. I am not a professional musician but I am fortunate to own a very old instrument, yet I was not taking it very seriously and can't really play well. Now I feel I am not respecting my instrument enough and not being grateful enough... Thank you.
Hi Tiffany, i have a request. 😊 can you please keep the subtitles faded in longer? IT's hard to read the subtitles so quickly and mostly not be able to read them without rewinding. That would be great. Thank you. 😊
Fun stuff!! One cool aspect about collabing is listening to one another, and adjusting on-the-fly. For a first rehearsal, you two seem to click really well. I think you could probably work on exuding a bit more conversational confidence with Jan, even if you have to fake it a bit. Of course you and he are colleagues, and you bring valid opinions. He brings more experience, but clearly he respects your point of view as well. This is great practice for when you're working with big name musicians all the time, possibly as one yourself. Catch you two next Saturday!!
Could you make vlog about technical equipment you youse to record music piece? It's very intresting question for all musician and students in our time!
I adore you playing the piano. However, I am more into listening to this piece on harpsichord. Check out Rinaldo Alessandrini rendition of those suites:)
Working from a transcription and translation to modern instruments, how cognizant of the baroque world and Bach’s musical language are they? There wouldn’t have been any dynamics on the keyboard and the viol da gamba would have been quieter too. It seems like articulation and rubato would have been the main expression. How to navigate that since dynamics can sound tacky anyway? I wonder since pianists often sound like they come from a romantic world. Are they just looking at the score? How do they look at it? Does it speak for itself? How familiar are they with the world of period performance which has come to the fore since WWII. To me, period performance has been the most exciting development in classical music so I wonder how they square what they’re doing with that world.
So, Jan just casually mentions that he has a Stradivarius. No big deal, doesn't everyone have a Stradivarius made in 1707, just laying around somewhere in the house? 😃
That is true, it is a shame they can not tape it and then offer it at several time choices. I know it is not the same experience but more people would watch probably.

I wish I could stress just how impeccable Tiffany's timing is.

Good morning! :)
I enjoy listening to Jan and how he thinks. Speaking like a wise Yoda. 🙏

Nice mix of chit-chat and playing Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Jan Vogler for contributing to this vlog, and the interesting remarks and information. I loved every minute, and look forward to the concert January 23rd!
I'm fifth year of piano and watching your channel has motivated me so much to focus on my music. Thank you SO MUCH!

You guys sound amazing together. Thank you so much for this!
Great video. Jan talks a lot of sense about the collaborative process. 👍
Very interesting both discussions, between musicians and between musical instruments! Thank you all!
You are just glowing in these videos Tiffany - you are lovely! Thanks for making them and sharing this experience with all of use.
The sounds of these two instruments make a perfect match. Their tone ranges are far enough apart that there is no conflict. One line of lead is beautifully complemented by the other.
More, please.
It’s so happy and fun to play with another musician.
Love your playing as usual ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love how you played with cellist. Right now I am playing piano and cello. The first time I watched this vlog I was really confused. 6 months later, I really like watching you guys play together.
I love the captions for your internal thoughts Tiffany!

Thank you, again such a great video and inspiration !
Another enjoyable rehearsal to learn from!
In its simplicity, M°Vogler gave some really useful advice about playing together. Thank you Tiffany for publishing your rehearsal!

I love how you play from minute 9. WOW!
Tiffany you are such a beautiful person and musician. I love the rapport you have with Jan.
❤️
Love you Tiffany! So excited for this pairing!!!!
Nice alternation between music-making and Q&A answers :)
Interesting conversation n Bach's music 👌😘
Finally! I waiting for this.
Well played both of you!
I loved the intercourse of piano’s and cello’s voices in Bach Viola da gamba no.2! I think chamber music is the most amazing experience a musician can have, it so joyful and exiting!
Loved this! Please do more rehearsal vlogs like this!
Thank you again
Thank you!
I loved this video! So interesting to hear Jan Vogler's thoughts!!
Hi Tiffany I love these videos!! I really do miss practicing with others but I still love solo piano too
A very insightful video! Keep up the great work.
Day 3 of telling Tiffany her uploads are appreciated (Ikik I missed the last one)😓. Also to get the YT algo rolling again.
I have a competition with a cellist in two weeks, so it´s really interesting to see how you two rehearse!
Thank you Tiffany!
I love your question "What is your relationship to your cello?" So funny!
hearing you both play is such a good way to start off my morning ☺️
Good video! Hope you keep making these
Hi algorithm, it's me again....😳
Gorgeous.

I don't know a lot about classical music but I really enjoy your playing and your videos. Thank you so much!
Can’t wait 😱
Henlo, keep up doing what sparks joy
Hi Tiffany, i have a request. 😊 can you please keep the subtitles faded in longer? IT's hard to read the subtitles so quickly and mostly not be able to read them without rewinding. That would be great. Thank you. 😊
This was refreshing...and a bit adorable

Tiffany’s body language is hilarious. She looks terrified of him!!

Ok so I’m just here to write another comment 👋🏻
Yoooo algorithm ittsss meeee
Good Morning, Algorithm! Please send this Harmony around the recommendation lists of RUclips :)
❤️❤️❤️
Could you make vlog about technical equipment you youse to record music piece? It's very intresting question for all musician and students in our time!
I was thinking maybe I'd make the tech vlog when we hit 300k...
I find it funny you're sitting in an office chair! ;) Great rehearsal, btw!
❤️
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️🎹❤️🎹❤️🎹
I actually want that chair! Link pls :)
我以為你是越南人,原來是香港人。可惜我聴不懂英文,不知道你說什麽,可我聴得懂你的音樂。感謝你的演奏。
I adore you playing the piano. However, I am more into listening to this piece on harpsichord. Check out Rinaldo Alessandrini rendition of those suites:)
I think this video is just as great as all the others, really don't get why RUclips is saying not nice things. I'm watching them all anyways 🤣
Tif, are you there?
i want to know what content is on the sheet music as opposed to the ipad?

What Bach piece is this?

How can you play piano with that chair ?
Jan vogler comes on a Jan-uary? A coincident? I think not
So, Jan just casually mentions that he has a Stradivarius.
No big deal, doesn't everyone have a Stradivarius made in 1707, just laying around somewhere in the house? 😃
Yeah, I caught that and my jaw dropped! Strad and Steinway, good combination.🤣
Did you ever think of doing one on a Sunday afternoon?
Asia would be asleep... I can't do that to my Hong Kong hometown 😕
That is true, it is a shame they can not tape it and then offer it at several time choices. I know it is not the same experience but more people would watch probably.
