I like your videos; they're very helpful. However, for some reason this one confused me a bit and I don't know why. I understand about high and low contrast and value; but, how do you apply it? Maybe my brain isn't connecting the information correctly 😔
You apply the use of values to your colours to make sure that things are distinctive/to have a focal point in a piece -- without a high enough contrast or different enough colours, your pieces can look muddy. Some examples of applying value can be found at 1:30 shown with the artworks Girl with the Pearl Earring and Portrait of Melissa Thompson.
@@wingedcanvas HI, thanks for replying. I did start doing that; changing color pieces to show value levels to make sure nothing is blending. I thought there was another method to it; the way I do it is to apply the color, make a duplicate then lower the saturation to see the values. Should I choose a color palette first then check the values?
Information useful, presentation not too good. Slow down, stop using the cute, slightly quacky diction, and don't offer something useful to read while you are also saying something that takes attention to absorb.

Repent of your sins Jesus is coming soon.
Jesus is a myth. You are not a sinner. You do not need to repent. This is bullshit for morons.
