    would it be ok to tilt them?

    • @FireWalkMusic
      @FireWalkMusic  12 дней назад

      Sure, that shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure they are positioned in a sturty way, for example by using some tiltable stands, a foam pad or something.

    Does this type of minotors also need to be in height of ears?

      That's my only question at this point too

      Ideally any monitor should be placed so that the tweeter is level with your ears, or at least tilted towards them. These are designed for desktop use, and they also have a specially designed waveguide which means that they'll work even if you're not right in that "triangle" or perfectlty level. With other monitors you'll often find that if you move just a little bit up/down or left/right, the high end will change dramatically. But that effect is not very noticable with these. Still, I would recommend tilting them a little bit if you have a very low desk. Some acoustic pads can work well too (as shown in the video) because they are usually two pieces, and removing the top one allows you to tilt the monitor. This can also help reduce desk resonance and desk coupling. They do have rubber feet, but as said in the video, I still felt a lot of vibration in the desk so some cheap monitor-pads should help with both of these issues.
      If you want to get some desktop stands then they will work well too. The monitors have spescific settings on the back for placement directly on a desk, speaker stands behind the desk, dekstop stands and so on.

      The LP-UNF will more than likely be a significant improvement over the companion 5.

    Can't really hear much difference between these and the LP6!

    • @FireWalkMusic
      @FireWalkMusic  4 месяца назад

      Sound tests like these will be coloered and limted by the device you choose to to listen to it on. If you listen to it on a pair of HS5's for exampe, then it will sound like the HS5 if you know what I mean.
      In this case they both do sound very similar in the mid and high-end, but the LP6 definitely has a more pronounced low-end, particularly in the lowest regions. This isn't really noticable when you listen to it on standard monitors, but if you listen to the sound test with a subwoofer, then you'll hear a big difference between the LP6 and the LP-UNF in those lowest regions.

    Real sound audio test can be used himself

    • @FireWalkMusic
      @FireWalkMusic  4 месяца назад

      It's always best to go and listen to a pair of monitors yourself. I don't really like all these "sound tests" on RUclips. If you use a pair of HS5 to listne to this for example, then obviously they will sound like the HS5 because the sound comes out of the HS5.. The sound that is recorded will also be colored by my room, my microphone etc. It won't be an accurate representation. You might hear some subtle differences between two different monitors thoguh, but it won't be an accurate representation. In this particular case they do sound quite ismilar in the mid and highs. It's only in the very lowest regions you can hear a big difference, but you won't be able to hear that unless you listen to it with a subwoofer. If I play this back with my A7V's for example, they do sound fairly similar. But if I turn on my subwoofer I can definitely hear that the LP6 provide more low-end than the LP-UNF. :)
      So yeah, you always need to take these kinds of tests with a (huge) grain of salt.
