You both sound confused, like: "we can do it, but in the other hand". And that is 'cause you are with Him or without Him. Be in the middle is be without Him.

Halloween is my favorite holiday,,,,,,, it has its dark side sure. But we can celebrate the giving & receiving of the candy, the dressing up in fun costumes & stuff like that, without the dark evil stuff. It’s all about perspective.

You both had convictions from the Holy Spirit about Halloween and ignored it. I pray God will help you realise your wrong and you will have a chance to repent. Like another commenter said, you both sound confused and have picked the middle ground (lukewarm, Revelations). There are many things that are fun and cute and harmless around this holiday but the Bible has a few examples of what doing something harmless caused someone to either lose their life or pull them away from God. Focus on the family, I am disappointed with your take on this episode.

As an Orthodox priest quipped in a 2010 article about Halloween, “And let’s be honest: modern Halloween for you and me-and even the Wiccans down the street-has nothing to do with virgin sacrifice or black magic. It’s about having fun in a costume and eating things your dentist wouldn’t approve of. No one was ever possessed by the devil because he or she dressed up for Halloween or passed out licorice or read a Harry Potter book. Our modern lives have way too many other avenues for temptation to enter, and these things are the real cause of our spiritual problems."
And as another commenter puts it - “This smear campaign against Halloween, in which it has been scapegoated among Christians as the ultimate manifestation of secularism and satanism in contemporary culture, only goes back to fairly recent modern times when certain Christian groups resorted to any fanciful tale to counter the emerging counterculture of the 60's and 70's that they perceived as corrupting youth. Christian leaders since then have clutched us in a guilt trip ever since about a holiday which, prior to this extreme reaction, was indeed harmless for the most part like any other holiday and had no connection with satanic rituals. It was a cultural festival which, though mischievous at times, really posed no threat to society until we were forced to believe that it did.”

our desire should be to pursue holiness. To try to be more like christ. This shouldn’t even been a question. The enemy comes to steal , kill and destroy. Why would we celebrate any type of holiday that promotes the opposite of the Word. Just seems simple to me.
