Very excited about this! Very excited for part 2 tomorrow. I hope it comments on how to deal with numerous subs for receivers that don't have directional bass that would be amazing... But I'll wait for part 2 before asking specific questions. Thanks again for all the work you are doing for this community.
Seriously I celebrate everytime you push content wether written or in video. Big thanks OCA big fan of all the work you are doing. Very excited for part 2
As many others have said , thank you sir for putting in the time and efforts that you do to make something as great as this and put it out there for anyone to use "especially the one like myself who dont come close to having the knowledge to optimize their systems the way your scripts do" and then go even further and spend more time and effort to make it possible for someone to be able to customize it to there liking if they wish. Thats basically the equivalent of a artist spends months on a sculpture and then giving it to someone along with the tools they would need to change it how they see fit. That says a lot about a person. I truly appreciate your hard work and willingness to spreed the love. With that said, i am having hitting a road block early in the process which is getting my multiEQ measurements sent to my computer in a format that i can drop it into REW. Every way I've tried to send it, it is saved in the wrong format. And thats if i even able to send it at all. Most efforts are roadblocked with some sort of error message or a incompatible message. Any help is obviously appreciated. Thanks.
Nexus is for measurements you do on your own in REW. If you want to use Audyssey's measurements in the MultEQ app, use A1 Evo Maestro: ruclips.net/video/lmZ5yV1-wMI/видео.html
@@ocaudiophile Found it, used it. Didn't let me comment, though. Just wanted to thank you, again, for all the great work you're doing for the community. And now I've been able to find the post and edit it. Guess it just takes time, and patience in NOT one of my virtues. Michael
Thank you for the effort and thoughtfulness in putting this script together. However, It looks like people are still going to have to use a generic target curve with the new script. From personal experience having used many generic target curves in MultEQ-X, generic target curves never worked for me in my room. generic target curves are only guesses and the majority of the time they don't work. I always felt that something was missing using generic target curves. Your speakers will always sound anemic and you will never achieve the wide dynamic range that your speakers are capable of when using generic target curves. To get the best sound, wider dynamic range, cohesion out of your speakers you need a speaker frequency response correction software that can calculate a target curve for each of your speakers based on your room acoustic characteristics, speaker/boundary interactions, and speaker distance in relation to the MLP. You need speaker correction software that will derive a true target for your unique room and speakers.
Does the Notebook/PC need some special requirements (e.g 5.1 soundcard?) to run REW and send each channel sweeps? I only have an 10 year old notebook, does support HDMI output, but theres no surround sound soundboard in it. I am exited to see part 2, maybe my question is getting answered. Many Thx for your incredible work!!!!
@@hawki1980 open file with online json editor. Duplicate your front left of front right speaker then rename to subwoofer save it and run it with the script.
No, the whole algo is based on the presence of a sub but you can load a dummy ady file with a sub and force LFE + Main. This will calibrate your front mains perfectly. Still you will have crossed over C, SL and SR with an non-existent sub!
Has anyone compared this with Dirac auto-calibration results? I am really hesitant if I should get a new AVC-X6800H ($$$) or a 2nd hand SR7015 ($). If A1 Evo Nexus result is already comparable or better than Dirac, I'll just save up and get the SR7015. Any experience sharing is appreciated!
I have a 3080 running 5.2.4 and have both dirac and a1 evo. I think evo gives me better overall sound. I thought Dirac sounded great when I ran it, but its just not that close to a1 evo.
By the way usually when using branded/trademarked things (Audyssey in this case) you definitely should add some disclaimer that says that the script is in no way associated with Audyssey labs. I could see them make a complaint because you're associating Nexus with it. Something along the lines of: “Audyssey is a registered trademark of Audyssey Labs, Inc. and is not affiliated with A1 Evo.”
I do have a question about the network access.. I know this is not supposed to be covered here but my X4400H is not able to access with IP address. It keeps saying error 403 forbidden. However, the denon app has no problem
We are unworthy of your generosity. Once again, OCA surprises us with an early Christmas present. Where on earth do you find the time to implement all this? Do you have a suggestion for all those who do not have a separate mic input, e.g. on their laptop? The Audessey measuring microphone has a TS 3.5 mm (mono) jack and is therefore not recognised by the internal sound card. At least this is the case with my laptop.
@@ocaudiophile Checked privacy settings, troubleshooting performed, the Audessey microphone is not recognised. At least on my laptop (HP) which has a single input (for headset). I guess I need a TS to TRS adapter, otherwise I'll have to solder something together
@@ocaudiophile last question and i dont disturb u anymore haha, is it better if i do the sub alignment with something like MSO and minidsp and treated them as 1 in evo or is it not neccesary?
Superb work! It is really insane what you were able to create! And don't apologize for the delay. You are doing this in your own time, and we get to enjoy your hard work. In my opinion, it's done when it's done. And if a release date gets pushed, it's with good reason. Better to get it right and fewer questions from people then to rush it and create too high work pressure for yourself. MJ was already great! Very curious how Nexus will sound. Since I have that stupid 40-60Hz bug (Thanks D&M for not taking it serious). Nexus is a superb way to work around that and finally get good and trustworthy room correction.
I managed to take measurements without the bug after many trials (80% of the time they are there in my setup), no clue what causes it to go away but they may disappear at times. So at least with Nexus we have a chance of catching the right time for measurements ;)
@@ocaudiophile Did you find any way that it was more consistent? or was it a lottery? I have not been able to get matching measurements anymore. Yeah cant wait for that! the UMIK1 i have will also be quite a bit better and its calibrated. So that will also make quite the difference.
Thanks. Will nexus allow us to get directional bass with mini-dsp on older receiver (Denon x4700)? If so then I will invest in minidsp and two more subs!
