It's a pity that life separates people. Marr and Morrissey were complete. Beautiful melodies and guitar of one and the vocal interpretation of another.
What a fantastic performance - and I say again, its presenters like Cheryl Waters that make things like this work. You cannot put a price on a well informed, well researched and clearly interested presenter. I live in the UK but thanks to KEXP for putting together a great piece of work. Thats how you do it
Johnny's performance sublime! 💖 & Cheryl Waters = the Best!! 🌼👍😄 Love her interviews esp. w/the members of Spoon & their performances @ KEXP, too! She also did a terrific interview w/Lucinda Williams last Fall, remotely from her location during lockdown, w/ Lucinda @ her own home. Lucinda & guitarist did a couple of tracks, which I suppose were pre-recorded but live @ (near to that) present time b/c they were off 2020 new album. IDK wherefrom, but some place must have opened up for them to perform, b/c that did not appear to be her home.
Absolutely love this song and everything Johnny Marr does is fucking brilliant . Been a huge fan since the smiths . Look forward more music from the Awesome Johnny ❤
Last time I saw the Yamaha double-cutaway on a stage was James Young of Styx on the Paradise Theater tour. Here it's modeled into an acoustic guitar sound- pretty cool.
When are you coming up? Get away now and go to bed I'm gonna pick you up Hear what you say and you're going so fast And I see you coming down that line See the future for tomorrow's child And I watch you when you're losing your mind And you can't let go All the places, all the steps You clamber up the beaten track When you've fallen and you keep on climbing You never look back So hi hello Whatever you need and wherever you go I can't say no One heart beat, any place we run And I see you coming down that line See the future for tomorrow's child And I'll find you when the lights are blinding And you can't get home It's never soon enough And forever's gonna come too fast Time is calling us Gets in the way and unfolds the past When there's nobody else around On a train, on the way from town And you feel like you can't be found And you can't let go All the faces taking up your time You say leave me alone Yes, tomorrow you're the future's child And I know where to go So hi hello Whatever you need and wherever you go I can't say no Walk our street any day you want And I see you coming down that line On the street, all alone at night And I'll find you if you're losing your mind And you can't let go No, I won't let go Hi hello Hi hello
Sounds much less complicated on this version with the Jaguar and less layering than the single version using the twelve string ES and to my ears much better.
Semplicemente un grande artista----mi dispiace dirlo da fan...ma Morrissey è invecchiato male , invece Marr è come il vino....con gli anni migliora . in pochi anni ha tirato fuori 3 album stupendi
Yea I’m searching for that too. Looks like he has some pickups in that jag that aren’t the original single coils. Neck position is a lace pickup and the bridge is a mini humbucker. But I’m unsure if the higher output pickups can create that sustain. The search for the answer continues.
The best song in his latest album. And almost as good and "smiths" as "New town velocity". Morrissey hasn´t done a good song in last ten years or more.
Well that's just your opinion I suppose. It's personal opinions. Some people think that he still can't do anything wrong. I'm sick of his tired announcements about the UK which he knows attracts attention only to try and play them down. He's been a great lyricist at times but he's so predictable and rather boring now. Rather have Marr talking, singing, writing etc than Mozz. Still, like I said it's all personal point of view
I get a "There is a light..." vibe in here. BTW, there is a slight difference between trying to look cool with the 'I don't give a fuck' pose and actually looking like you are bored. This is the case of Johnny's rhythm guitarist. What a drag...
Seriously the best JM song since the Smiths. It gives me the same feeling that “There is a Light” does.
Of course! The gimmick you can listen to all à long the song + at the end is VERY close to the one in « There is a light that never goes out »
The rhythmic feel and arrangement/instrumentation very deliberately brings ‘There is a light’ to mind. It’s like a response song
This song is his most smiths type song since the smiths
What about European Me?
There is a light that never goes out...
NewTown Velocity?
With a little bit of Johnny Marr stoned zen thrown in for good measure.
@@tonylamosa3 There is a light one of the all time best Smiths songs that got this og emo through the 80s
The bass player is ridiculously good. Thats a beast axe that kids swinging.
how can he sing and play guitar so well he must be some kind of higher being
He´s singing better than before. Anyway, it is not his strongest point..
5% Capability, 5% vision 90% PRACTICE
its well known that marr is a god
@@warma731 True, but he's singing while playing like Johnny Marr which isn't the easiest task.
Love this song so much. Never get tired of hearing it ❤ Gives me all the feels.
Just came upon it two days ago. Me, too. I’m sharing your joy! Well said. Aloha. 🤙🏽
Totally agree 💯 sounds so good cranked loud in the car !!

@@kazd3256 loving it! Stay safe x
This song is literally the definition of blissful oblivion.
Johnny has absolutely nailed the vibe of this song, least in my mind.
You’re right.
I say that by 1989 Johnny Marr was already a Rock n' Roll Hall of famer............IN MY EYES!!!.............JUST TOO GOOD!!!
There is a hi hello that never goes out !
Johnny Marr real guitar hero of eighties 👍
Absolutely love this song and everything Johnny Marr does is fucking brilliant . Been a huge fan since the smiths . Look forward more music from the Awesome Johnny ❤
I keep thinking of There Is A Light every time I hear this. Beautiful song.
This is truly one of the most beautiful songs ever ❤️✌🏻

impresionante tema Johnny Marr eres el mejor con la guitarra
Brilliance!!!!
👏👏👏👏 GREAT!
That Fender Jag... what a gun.
Best looking Boy band in Britain X Pp
Not
This sound like A Light That Never Goes Out. Seriously...
I prefer this tbh.
Oh yes that Lake Placid Jag. So hot.
Sweet!!!
GRANDE
Great. Transcendent
love 2 c him play at n o jazz fest.
Not just an after Smiths song. Superb melody
That Fender Jaguar is gorgeous & if I am not mistaken, it has the Ed O'Brien configuration.
@James Tudor i know, but the neck pickup is a sustainer
oh là là! mamma mia, monsieur! bravo! rs.
je t'aime, johnny "fuckin" marr, mon amour! ; )
When are you coming up?
Get away now and go to bed
I'm gonna pick you up
Hear what you say and you're going so fast
And I see you coming down that line
See the future for tomorrow's child
And I watch you when you're losing your mind
And you can't let go
All the places, all the steps
You clamber up the beaten track
When you've fallen and you keep on climbing
You never look back
So hi hello
Whatever you need and wherever you go
I can't say no
One heart beat, any place we run
And I see you coming down that line
See the future for tomorrow's child
And I'll find you when the lights are blinding
And you can't get home
It's never soon enough
And forever's gonna come too fast
Time is calling us
Gets in the way and unfolds the past
When there's nobody else around
On a train, on the way from town
And you feel like you can't be found
And you can't let go
All the faces taking up your time
You say leave me alone
Yes, tomorrow you're the future's child
And I know where to go
So hi hello
Whatever you need and wherever you go
I can't say no
Walk our street any day you want
And I see you coming down that line
On the street, all alone at night
And I'll find you if you're losing your mind
And you can't let go
No, I won't let go
Hi hello
Hi hello

Genial
Sounds much less complicated on this version with the Jaguar and less layering than the single version using the twelve string ES and to my ears much better.
I agree. The record must have 3 or 4 guitar overdubs at least and I reckon there's a flute in there as well. I prefer this live version.
he uses this jag on the album too, he used the es 335 12 strings for the video
The 12 string electric is the hook in this tune. Play it live.
❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏾

I just want to know how in gods name did he get that level of sustain without an E-bow??? 🤯
Yea I’m searching for that too. Looks like he has some pickups in that jag that aren’t the original single coils. Neck position is a lace pickup and the bridge is a mini humbucker. But I’m unsure if the higher output pickups can create that sustain. The search for the answer continues.
Fernandes Sustainer pickup added to his Jag.
Why do parts of this track remind me of 'Tomorrow People' by Dudley Simpson.
The best song in his latest album. And almost as good and "smiths" as "New town velocity". Morrissey hasn´t done a good song in last ten years or more.
You’re a twit.
Umm... yes he has, it's ratjer his views nowadays that distracts the joy of it really.
Well that's just your opinion I suppose. It's personal opinions. Some people think that he still can't do anything wrong. How does Johnny get that E-Bow effect toward the end? Not getting what's making the strings vibe....
Could be a sustain pedal
Fernandez sustainer pickup!
Marr Magic Fingers.... 😊
C'mon, he's Johnny Marr man.
definitely a sustain pedal probably the gamechanger audio plus you can see him shift this weight on it at the end before the video fades out
I get a "There is a light..." vibe in here.
BTW, there is a slight difference between trying to look cool with the 'I don't give a fuck' pose and actually looking like you are bored. This is the case of Johnny's rhythm guitarist. What a drag...
Johnny Fuckin' Marr
Does anyone know what’s going on with James’ thick-bodied Yamaha? Does it have stereo output? MIDI?
Maybe he uses Boss simulation for acoustic guitar
Guba stvar
Hi
Gokil
Amazing hints is Morrisseys ghost in the atmosphere
😍😍😍🇷🇺👏🏻
😍😍😍🇲🇽👏🏽
i knew that song would sound good live it seems to much on the album
They are good but they remind me of some group
The Smiths?
Television?
Dumpy's Rusty Nuts?
Crack
sounds like seven nation army smiths-ish version
Suppose with Moz voice
No. Perfect without him
Reminds me of The Killers.
The league of assassins?
