I remember seeing this pop up on youtube in 2006 and being so hyped. It was the first new Kirk Hammett guitar solo since 1999. I was kinda bummed when this didn't make the final album, but All Nightmare Long ended up being one of my favourite tracks
that solo part transitioning into All Nightmare Long riffage is great but song itself is all over the place and vocal melody is awful. They trimmed the bad parts and made 2 great songs.
@dekapitatorr Completely agree, there are some real cool parts in there, even some that didn't even make the album, but I just feel the song is kind of a hodge podge and doesn't make sense. The craziest thing from this show imo was that 'New Song' with the 'The End of the Line' intro/outro, and the 'All Nightmare Long' bridge in the middle of it! Love to go back in time and see a 'work in progress' like that

I mean, hes a world class and world wide known guitarist, its mainly die hard fans and those who are into heavy music that give him shit simply cause they analyze everything / know him better as hes not really pulled off anything jaw dropping for like what? more than a decade? but hes still an amazing player.
Ok. I hear your point man. I myself have never spoken shit about anyone in Metallica like a lotta people do unfortunately, but he messed up several parts, and or bars of his solos in this show, and he's been doing this since the late 90's, and I could never figure out why? Back then they had regular set list they played each night, I've been a Guitarist for 20 year's, have osteoarthritis in both hands, and tendonitis in my wrists and forearms, just as Kirk does, yes I'm 20 year's younger than him, buy it's still the same pain in my hands, fingers, wrists, forearms that he gets. Today, I feel like in terms of his personality, the way he portrays himself, he's become complacent as a Guitarist, and doesn't push himself anymore. Money can make anyone become complacent, and forget about what got them there in the first place. I've always appreciated James and his honesty, being so humble and down too earth, he hasn't let anything go to his head, neither has Rob or Lars. Something happened too Kirk at some point, unfortunately it's made him care less about nailing every bar of his solos live. That's my long and in-depth take. I became a Guitarist because of James and Kirk when I was 16, in case if you were wondering, so they were my inspiration, and still are in The World Of Heavy Metal. I love The Blues as well. Take Care Man.🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@jakubdanielewicz8963 they never used amp sims. in the 90s and late 80s they used a mesa quad preamp, then they used a triple rec i think, then a krank and then went back to recs
They literally depend on whatever recoverable footage they have/find and considering Cliff was only with the band for 3 years over 30, almost 40, years ago (SHIT!) there's bound to be very little still-usable video footage of that time, especially if they're looking to recover a full recorded gig. Even then, the only Cliff era gig they've shown so far was originally only one hour long and it got trimmed because the first fifteen minutes were missing the audio so unfortunately I wouldn't keep my hopes up too much no matter how much I want to see Cliff play again.

So happy they played one of my favorites (fuel) definitely awesome to hear it live everytime
My heart will always beat to the beat of Metallica, Forever!
Ustedes son demasiado importantes para mi. Todavia se me pone la piel de pollo cuando los escucho. Y en mi trabajo me motivan para seguir. Gracias METALLICA. Su obra es algo increíble.
After seeing Metallica live 11 times now, I cannot be more thankful to be able to watch one of the greatest bands of all time, literally whenever I wish!
Such a relief considering the lack of live music at the moment
Very happy to met you...i hope you've still had alot of music..thanx phayto thnx kirk,,thanx lars, rob,,thats Jason...
Yes, Full Master of Puppets is amazing, The New Song is also amazing. But this version of The Unforgiven, with the fingerpicking and the intro is incredible. One of the best live versions.
James the best front man ever funny and gets the crowd involved better than any one I've seen.
I KNOW ITS IN THE DESCRIPTION AND FOR THE 20 YEARS BUT IS NO ONE GONNA TALK ABOUT HOW THEY PLAYED THE WHOLE MOP! WHEN THEY DID IN 86 THEY NEVER PLAYED ORION SO THIS IS SO SICK!
This is the best i've ever seen them play. so good.
What a style you have James I love it 😍🥰
Do people seriously just come her to dislike it. Like that's messed up.
It’s the old napster users
Only a fraction of the massive likes though probably opera people
probably bots (or mustaines many accounts)
I usually show up to bitch up Lars drumming. Or say that old pre Black Album Metallica is way better.
But I guess this video is a bust on both those counts.
Lars is drumming like a beast here
Yeah, especially in 1:26:24 btw my favorite verison of battery was in this concert
Miguel Restrepo A cool moment. And they also played it with the bridge here, which is a rarity nowadays
Too bad the tempo is all over the place...
@@czolgistta then if its not then its not lars...its his signature tempo.
@@czolgistta Oh look a connaisseur of the bashing Lars arts here. Almost feels like 2018 again.
OMG what a show. They totally 99.9% nailed the Master of Puppets and others too. Wow. WOW! Superb one, love you guys!
Leper Messiah sounded amazing
The craziest thing from this show imo was that 'New Song' with the 'The End of the Line' intro/outro, and the 'All Nightmare Long' bridge in the middle of it! Love to go back in time and see a 'work in progress' like that
Holy shit, Lars nailed that double bass at the end of Damage Inc!
He nailed double bass in all of them!!
Wow!!!!
the new song was fucking wild!!
Thank you very much!!!
Next time - maybe something from the Wherever we may roam Tour (Europe 1992??)
Holy shit, Lars was killing it!
it is well recorded, the sound is clean, I like this video
Battery sounds so good here, performed with the full breakdown section (no "are you alive"), and some full double pedal from Lars! 👍
@Jorge Sandoval Sure, maybe he plays it, but in most recordings you can't even tell, it's usually so quiet it's inaudible.
The 2007 shows also featured the full version of Battery.
Lars actually killing the double bass pedals.... what COULD HAVE BEEN if he did more with the recorded drum riffs and fills....
Man, I'm really sad watching Lepper Messhia from this era an then watching Lepper for 2018, watching how Lars has come with the double bass, it's makes me sad dude, this is just me speaking but he could just stay in shape and keep playingile it was nothing but he didn't, even though I love Metallica and always will, but damn I wish I had listen to them this "BIG".
Kevin Salazar I think that’s partly due to Lars giving up Cocaine cold turkey. I also miss the guitar tone of this era. Their guitar nowadays is too clean for my taste. They got it right in this era IMO
@@ShinSuperSaiyajin Hit the nail on the head man. He quit doing cocaine in 2008, he's not getting younger, he's gonna be 57 years old for Pete sakes. I personally am glad he quit putting a stimulant up his nose, not only for his overall health, but also because he doesn't play every song WAY too fast anymore. Shit, once he quit cocaine, he looked 10 year's younger. Take care man.🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@lovemetal2467 Nicko in iron maiden is much older than Lars and plays faster than him only using one pedal. Not comparing Lars and Nicko, but I think Nicko is more consistent
More Cocaine!!
Exactly how James said...God bless Clifford!!! The most strong instrumental song I´ve ever heard. And I love Metallica for sure!!!
Reminder set ⏰💜💓💓💓💓💜🎧 love from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
Glad to see another Trini here
@@fedora997 👍🤘 likewise 😁
One of the best concerts ever
Leper Messiah man that song gets me every time. True masterpiece
Metallica is the best music band ever
Best!
Not exactly... but still great
Wait, what ...? they played the mid solo of Battery... That is amazing !
Mid Solo?
Do You Mean The Bridge Riff/Middle Section?
@@KristianJoyZX_V-T-D. yes, I meant the bridge but I didn't know what's called back then
Mandatory Metallica on SiriusXM made me look this for this show. Been privileged to see the Metallica Family on 2 occasions. God Bless America!
Been there 😊 Best concert ever. So happy you uploaded this one.
Just missing "long way" and "ecstasy" to get the complete kick at the start 😅
Epic thrash with Puppets in its entirety. Still don’t get why Hammett doesn’t get more props for his playing. Lots of great footage in this video of him moving from riffs to complex scales. Enjoy y’all...🤘🏼
I consider him the best guitar player of all time.
Take Care Man.🤘🏻🤘🏻
this 2006 recording sounds better than the new ones imo
Post production
@@sebastiangatica3946 They weren't using amp sims yet, which sound awesome live but suck on the record
They look like they want to play more than they did in 2019 .
@@jakubdanielewicz8963 they never used amp sims. in the 90s and late 80s they used a mesa quad preamp, then they used a triple rec i think, then a krank and then went back to recs
lapinus they used amp sims on worldwired.
Please upload more Cliff era videos, we need more of it!
