Your craftsmanship is truly an amazing art form, that is absolutely incredible. I can’t wait to watch the rest of this build. Great job and thank you for sharing! 👍
Love your design, very stylish, very strong. However one weak spot: the foundation. Not the concrete part, enough strength to carry the weight. But I see only 12 screws total attaching the whole greenhouse to the concrete. A little uplift by wind could take that quickly apart. At least double the number of screws, anchor bolts would be better and it would also be a good idea to attach those brackets to the wood with bolts and nuts instead of screws. Would be a pity to see in a storm that whole beautiful structure being sucked into the air ... just because of 12 screws.
I know I'm about three years too late to the party but I gotta say . . . I LOVE this design!! Not a word said and you spoke volumes!! Well . . . . except at 3:10 when I swore I heard you mutter something under your breath. :) Well done!!

Our goal is to be able to produce year-round, and for the price, these structures are a great fit for our budget, especially considering the harsh winters we face here in Chicago. I wanted to ask if you could share some insights on the technique or method you used to make the bows, particularly the end caps. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! My guess is you draw what you want in CAD and measure it there. For example for it to be 3m in width (and if you look from the front equilateral triangle with side of 3m should match its 3 points with bottom points and top) arch length is 3.14m. So you take this piece of wood and stick between another two that are 3m apart.
I really like these designs. Simple and effective with plenty of height. I think what I would have done differently is build a ridge piece into it so that the each side buts up against it.
I hope you treated the heck out of that flake board. Any moisture like that in a gh will destroy it in short order. Let us know how it holds up. Sometimes good old plywood is worth the extra $. Having said that it looks great👍😎👌
I'll bet there's lots of people using a Bluetooth or earbuds to watch videos. Can you imagine how loud and sharp the noise was when you threw those bundles on the floor. I really appreciate you thinking about the rest of us.
@@pugsymalone6539 I am not sure of the flexibility of cedar. BUT that being said, if your cedar boards weren't too thick, and if they were as knot free as possible and if you steamed them before you them in the jig hot, then I believe they would work out fine.
@@pugsymalone6539 I just found a channel yesterday that showed building the Gothic arch trusses in greater detail and with instruction. He was building a styroaircrete shed. To get his arches he cut his stock to half inch thin and he bent those strips into his jig, gluing laminations as he went. It looked less labor intensive. I definitely want to give it a go, whether for a shed, greenhouse or as a roof on another structure. If you are interested the channel was ... Stephen Williams.

Hello. Thank you very much for video list of greenhouse (3*5*2,8). Please tell me what board size (width, thickness and length)? Bar length? How many boards did it take in meters? What glue was it glued to? Thank you in advance for your reply. Respectfully!!!
This is great! Any way to achieve R-30 insulation value on the ceiling and R-13 on walls with a structure like this? Could something like this ever pass Florida primary dwelling building code for Structural, Energy, Wind?
I wonder if one could find a way to do this with PVC rather than wood, as wood is prohibitively expensive here. The main issue would be the join of the two pipes at the top. Any ideas?
if you leave a space at the top you can do a ridgepole i would do 8' sections make them modulrar easy to put up and take down of course you would have 2 touching every 8' but that would make it much stronger and 1 person could easily put up by themselves i have made them this way and there very handy
Just a question. Why didn't you put your bracing in the concrete footings while poring it but instead drilling then in after? You mustn't have wind at all. But build came together well.
Really nice craftsmanship, however the fact that all that beautiful raw lumber will begin to decay almost immediately due to this being a greenhouse and moisture, heat and cold are continually breaking down the structure. I'd be concerned. Without the raw wood being treated thoroughly, especially where it meets the soil it will become a dinner plate to termites and other species of unwanted bugs. To put this much effort into building such a nice structure and not consider how the elements will break down the raw wood is disheartening. Maybe there are other considerations I'm not taking into play, such as environmental but being a retired Contractor I would weigh that factor and protect my build for its longevity. P.S. I really appreciate the video editing. It moves along nicely, and hearing the audio at greater speeds is humorous and entertaining. Great job.
Totally agree! That much effort spent and structure is going to fail in a year or two. Not going to last through 3 seasons being covered. People will start to build like this without realising that it is going to rot very soon. 20mm Pine planks ? ))) Bad Idea
Out of curiosity, and as a beginner to carpentry, how would you treat the wood to last a long time when building a greenhouse like this? or should I be considering other materials?
@Norbury53 Thanks so much for the very informative reply! don't think anyone has replied so thoroughly on youtube before. Really appreciate it! I'm doing a lot of research into setting something like this up for the garden, but It's a really unfortunate fact that eventually wooden structures seem to rot away and spending thousands on something I'm not sure I still want standing in 30 years is another argument entirely.
