- In the second part of the series, we layout and put the arches up for the structure we are building our 25' power catamaran in. There will be maybe 1 or 2 more videos on this structure build and then we will be diving head first into the process of building a boat! Stay tuned...

Very cool build. Thanks for showing it!
Great video! Thanks
Nice guys!
Great Job & Idea,..........😎👍🙂✌️
Great job. Doing research before I start building. Watching you have me some good ideas how I want to build. Contraire to the others, I like the music but you could work on the volume..... Thanks for sharing
that is awesome
Спасибо.меня очень волновал узел крепления дуг.кстати музыка понравилась
Спасибо.
nice content
Facinating build, i really like it. However, i had to turn off the sound, the so called music was dire.
So we have heard a tome or two!
Yes, Horrid and annoying. The build was great though.
Excellent video and greatly appreciate people like you posting how to videos. I would love for you or someone to do a video on how exactly the mathematics work on calculating the length of the arches based on the width of the building and desired height....
Way to go !!!! How did you attach/build /secure the pony walls that the trusses are attached to , so that they don't just fall over?
Nice video. What type of wood did you use for the arches?
Unbelievably simple!! Fast once you have all of the parts. I wonder what it would take to make it code for a residential structure ??? 16" on center no doubt. Stronger bows like maybe a 4" or 6" × 2" laminated bow . Gussets with a channel for the ridge beam . Doubled 2"×6" . And cinder block walls off a slab... Gives you 6" of strength, insulation, and sound proofing. 2"×4" perlins with screws and hurricane clips on everything. 1/4" plywood sheeting inside 1/2" - 5/8" marine grade or treated plywood outside...
Quiet. Strong. Spacious ( depending on how you design the interior ) . Maybe some arched dormers on the sides for window space and light. 3-4 skylights on each side...
Could be done.
They used to use 6+ 1"x4" laminated together in a solid arch (no spacer block) for barns. Spacing probably was 24" on center or thereabouts (standard any roof I've worked on up in Canada anyways)
Great video, thanks. I like the music.
Great video. One notice was how close you built it to the other building. I would be concerned with snow and rain runoff?
Hi this hasn’t been an issue yet! We’re at least three feet off the other building. Thanks for watching!
That’s a nice build. Similar to mine but I like the added plywood at the top ridge. That’s a good idea how wide and long ?
Busy Beaver Productions thanks for subscription to our channel! This is 12x32!
I could not watch that fast motion part. it made me dizzy and hurt my head. I like the arch build though. Have you ever thought how to do an intersecting part like a dormer or side room/doorway?
How tall is your arch structure and how much was it to build?
Did you make the arches out of plywood strips or 1x4"s?
This is great! Any way to achieve R-30 insulation value on the ceiling and R-13 on walls with a structure like this? Could something like this ever pass Florida primary dwelling building code for Structural, Energy, Wind?
I really can’t answer that! It would need to be brought up with someone who’s experienced with this. We’re just trying to build a boat 😆
@12vLif3. Shamrock Aquaponic farms sells plans for this type of structure. They are based in Florida. And If I remember correctly the plans passed hurricane code there. You might start there. If you're still looking.
@@carlbrown939I couldn't find the plans you mentioned? Do you happen to know exactly where I could find them?
😍💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
Ноев ковчег! ;))
What kind of glue did you use? Since you created a hinge point where you attached the arches to the stub well how well has it held up and has it bowed out at all?
We used titebond 3. The arches came down on the walls around 8” that overlap was screwed into the wall. We then used metal clips on either side of the arch to secure it to the knee wall. Also when installing the horizontal perlins we staggered the joints on every layer, this locked in the structure from lateral movements. The knee walls have not bowed out at all. The structure has been erected for almost two years.
klasse !!
Happy Anniversary
Can you believe it
I'm thinking of making this truss design for a workshop...
I've seen it done with the 1x3's in most builds, however my experience with that wood is that it splits extremely easy (even if pre drilled)
Was that an issue for you?
I'm considering using 1/2 plywood cut into 3"wide strips and just looking for input before I spend the time at the table saw.
We did account for this as well. the 1x3” were cheap at the time, so a few extra were ordered. Overall we probably split 3-4 pieces.
@@BuildingMVDauntless ok. Thanks for the response.
Definitely cheaper than plywood, and a heck of a lot easier than ripping down all them strips. .
1x3's it tiz.👍
@@BuildingMVDauntless Great build! Have been researching a bow shed for a boat project for some time now. Where did you find 1x3's longer than 12'?? I've struck out. I'm doing a 20' wide design and I've had to butt joint boards together and have been having trouble.
Start in the middle and support the veritcles wtih ropes...
That's good job. What is the board thickness you use for the arch. I plan to do it for a summer kitchen, and I have no idea how to start
Gihel Cl hi! Thanks for the question. I was told that they are 1x3 furring with 2x3 spacers and 2x6 double ridge with 2x4 knee walls! Hope that makes sense.
@@BuildingMVDauntlessThank's, 1x3 I guess these are inches ?
Gihel Cl yes that’s correct. Dimensional makes it actual 3/4” x 2-1/2” but they’re called 1x3 for some reason they’re also 16 feet long
@@BuildingMVDauntless ok in France we use metric system, it's nice to specify I would have been wrong. Thank's a lot
Gihel Cl got it! The plans for our boat are in metric and we need to learn that in order to build it. It’s going to be interesting!
I don’t get the marking out method 14 ft radius ?
Do you have engineering drawings for the shed? I need them for a permit.
We drew our own plans, for our permit. They are not engineered by a professional. A lot of towns, in our area, will accept a hand drawn sketch of what is proposed for the structure. Good luck. 🍀
Good project. Nice video and interesting. Horrible music. Kept having to hit the mute button and unmute when you were narrating.
Music 3x louder than you so i heard nothing you said, re-upload it or get comments about when your 90!
Not worth reuploading! We’ll take the comments now. Improved over the years
Можно перевод на русский, плииз?
Enjoying the journey. But lord the music is awful....
ahhah! ok thanks for the input!
Now that I’m totally Dizzy from trying to watch this video.. think I’ll go puke
🤮🤮🤮
The music thumbs down the boat shed is good
TheJustonemore haha I’ve heard the music is bad a time or two... but copyright free music that doesn’t sound like a corporate slideshow is hard to come by! The structure is pretty great. Thanks for the comment.
@@BuildingMVDauntless Its the volume differential to your voice audio that
really needs to be addressed.
Pat M in newer videos i believe it has been!
Great job. Music has to go
Great content. Keep it up! Would you like to be RUclips friends? :]
nice build music horrible and is way to loud, it just about blew my ears apart.
Heard that before!
Crappy music and timelapse wideshots...why bother?
Lol
Get rid of the garbage music.
Joanne Hammerstrom lol. Noted. Trust me apparently everyone hates it.
Terrible music, give us a break we have to listen to it not you!
Lewis Hunt I’m sorry you feel that way.
