Letting go of Miss J, Nigel Barker etc was the worst thing for the show. Not to mention the fact that the call Ashley Graham a Supermodel so early on in her career and not being as versatile as people would think, is questionable.
I really Miss the J's they were so memorable. I also liked Twiggy and Andre when they were judges, for different reasons though. Twiggy was just so sweet and Andre was just a character lol.
I think saying that Andre is just character is very insulting. If you follow the industry, you know how powerful and influential Andre is. Nigel said that having Andre on the cast was great because it allowed for the show to be seen as more credible and respected in the industry. Twiggy is an icon. And as much as Paulina didn't get along with Tyra, everything she said was correct. So often Tyra picked models based on who she wanted to see excel in the industry, not necessarily who was actually fit to excel at that time. Many of the contestants don't go on to have successful careers in the industry and for good reason.

So I was happy when the show re-aired and went back to the original format. Only think I do like to know is why there's no more international travel anymore or Go-Sees because they had valid reasons for being there. Like it was important for the contestants to experience different markets around the world, and the Go-Sees were how you got hired to begin with.
@@looseygoosey39 It's like asking the people who watch Masterchef or any cooking show to judge the food from their look without tasting it. We had no idea the real personalities of the model. I've been rewatching all of the earliest cycles, and it was one of the first (can't remember which) where I believe it was Mr. Jay that specifically said the reason they couldn't have the viewers vote is because they don't know enough about the industry to pick a contestant talented enough to be successful- so they have a judging panel comprised of experienced representatives. So when they changed the voting format it's clear that the show wasn't even trying to develop successful models- they were 100% about television ratings.
After watching a few seasons I kind of understand what the judges mean but the judges are EXPERTS Nigel is a photographer he knows what he wants to see in a picture, Mr. Jay is a director who knows what he's looking at when on set, Miss Jay is an expert at runway walking and he also had the funniest comments on the panel. Then there's judges like Twiggy and Janice Dickenson who have been in the industery forever. Let the experts speak the viewers just want drama.
You actually think Tyra picks the winner. Why would cover girl give Tyra that authority. No cover girl executives pick the winner. Which is exactly why Renee the one who did the best in the commercial got sent home season 8. You can do the best and still not win. Girl get a clue. The experts in the field don't choose the winner.
The reason why there is a huge drop in audience share between cycle 17 and 18 is not because of the jays and barker, it is in fact they did not let Alison win in the all star cycle. Alison has a very huge fan base and making lisa won that cycle is a huge mistake. It felt like the majority of the fans of the show boycott the entire show from that moment until today
I remember when 'We was rooting for you' first aired I remember when Tiffany was eliminated she walked over to the other girls and laughed. It was like a Idgaf anyway, cause this show ain't shit moment and it offended Tyra. Pride and ego of 'how dare you laugh at MY Show' that made Tyra snap not cause she gave AF about that girl.
Like Paulina Porizkova said, being on this show will probably hinder your chances of being real successful in the industry with the exceptions of Fatima, Leila etc. Tyra doesn't have as much respect in the industry itself that people assume she does. Even if she wanted to help the girls, it probably wouldn't of had much weight.
Sam How closely do you follow the industry if you don't know how Leila and Fatima? They have successful high fashion campaigns, appearances and editorials. Leila was even named a breakout runway star. Their names won't be recognizable to the general public but if you follow fashion, you'll know their portfolios. I agree that each contestant has to work hard to make it into this industry and that going on a reality television show won't garner them any favors. That being said, I stand by my statement that Tyra doesn't have STRONG industry support, especially when comparing her to other 90s supermodels. She wasn't any muse to any prominent fashion designer or photographer (besides Gilles Bensimon & Russel James/) and she had problems finding professionals to come on the show.
@@ChicaBuenosAires exactly! She even talked about how short her high fashion career was. She had to completely change her whole career when she hit 20 and started filling out, and that's when she became super famous
I don't know why Tiffany Richardson just stood there and allowed Tyra to yell at her like that. She should have turned around and walked away from her. I don't care who Tyra is! *NO ONE* should *ever* have to put up with that treatment. *EVER!*
If you watched the season, Tiffany suddenly gave up after weeks of killing it. Tyra really identified with Tiffany and really tried to support her, knowing she had a tough life. Tyra also knew that the only way to get through to her was to give her some real tough love. Tiffany didn't fight back because she knew Tyra had a lot of good points, and when she came back a few years later she thanked Tyra for that lecture and said she really needed to hear it.
I think it was really stupid to let original judges go. Fans were mad Allison lost All Stars and then the thematic cycles and the voting system ultimately killed the show.
I was more mad about Allison losing cycle 12 tbh. Not gonna lie tho I still love listening Underwater every once in a while. I do agree with the fan voting and letting the original judges go. I kinda liked British Invasion because the Brit girls were so damn likable (would've been better w/ Twiggy as a judge). The college season was meh but I did like the addition of guys.
@@NerdigansInc Hmmm, I actually hated the addition of guys. Some of the photoshoots were weird (like nail art) and they tried to force sexual tensions between the girls and guys. It seems it was all the stories focused on, who likes who... College cycle was meh and Leila got robbed. It seems Tyra felt sad she could not have a trashy blonde Laura win the British invasion cycle, so she let even trashier Laura win the next cycle.
As a girl from Miami, TIFFANY WAS HIGH FASHION! She went from trapping in the streets of the 305 to almost being a top model. Such a damn shame she gave up the competition before even being eliminated.
I love how whenever you guys show the rooting for you rant you guys show Tatianna's face. She looks like "this is some bullshit". The girl knew what was up
Caridee English, the winner of cycle 7 said that nobody cares if you ever won or participated on this show. Besides, Tyra always acting as a Diva all the time. She's also currently as the host of America's Got Talent in order to replace Nick Cannon who had a trouble to NBC and she was trying so hard to be on camera. Even on Live Shows, she is even walk like she thinks she's on the runway and dress up like a model. Meanwhile, Heidi Klum, the current judge of AGT and also another supermodel is always walking normally and wearing simple dress.
Didn't know most of these things, not shocked by any of them. Also you're crazy if you think the "we were rooting for you" speech was in full on TV. Like no duh it was longer and more intense.
Adrianne Curry has spoken up about how fake the show is. She said the first cycle was really the only one that was semi serious about modeling. She's also said that, even though the show said it promised these contracts with these brands and agencies, it was actually a lie, and you still had to try and earn them
All stars (cycle 17) should have been the perfect closure to ANTM, the only good thing that happened after that was Nyle DiMarco winning cycle 22, which was supposed to be the last one
Complaining that the contestants don't get help after the show? What do they expect? You win a contract with a major agency, a national campaign of some kind, and you think they are supposed to keep holding your hand? Most shows like this are similar, it's not like the winners of American Idol get personal help from the show's creators if life after that initial album doesn't go well. If you don't think that's true, please reference Taylor Hicks. These shows only promised them an opportunity, not a ready made career.
Exactly! They have an opportunity. They're on TV, they meet people and maybe if they're any good they can have a career as models. But it's up to them, not to Tyra Banks to help them finding a contract with some agency
To be fair, the clip they used was from an actual cycle winner. They're not going to have their hands held through their career, but you'd expect at least the cycle winners to be helped by the show. If you look at many of the winners, in fact, a lot of them don't go nearly as far as models who didn't win like Leila and Allison for example.
#5 was definitely one that I had a big feeling about haha. It was pretty obvious that they had cut some parts of Tyra yelling to Tiffiny. It is TV so like duh but I always wondered if she had said something to her even more shocking or mean towards her. Damn of she really said that about the mattress baby thing.... whoa. Oh well... I guess we'll never know.
#8 isn't that surprise to me since I think I remember hearing once that Shoots can take all day. The most obvious photo shoot to me when you notice the time change was in Cycle 8's episode where they were in Australia at the beach and the Women's photo shoot was in the early morning hours but the men's photo shoot the lighting was obvious around sometime in the day. Plus in episodes you saw girls eating while off set during photo shoots. I honestly have a hard time trusting Angelea's words because there was always something about her that I just didn't like. That's just me though. Plus if conditions were that bad, I would think more girls would have come forward. If I am wrong though feel free to correct me.
Other models have spoken about the constant filming and not being able to have real conversations without the cameras. Nobody has said similar things about not being fed though.
If they were constantly starving it would have turned into the Walking Dead. They would occasionally starvve them like in photoshoots or field trips and even that not always. If you starve even for a day wouldn't you remember it?? I certainly do remember it (when it happened to me I mean)
I think the biggest issue, from a tv show perspective, is that the producers didn't quite understand what the fan base wanted. They can rig, manipulate and make anything happen there, so they could EASILY make Alison Harvard win the All Stars Cycle, which was the biggest reason why the ratings dropped so drastically cycle 18. After that, I think the show didn't "evolve" well, as it tried too hard to stay modern to the point of losing what made it entertaining in the first place. From cycle 19 onwards, it became a different show. So I think Tyra needs a better marketing team and a better bunch of producers. My biggest tip would be: Always listen to the fans, they are the ones who give you ratings.
I think Tyra was the one out of line when she yelled at Tiffany. Tiffany was OBVIOUSLY trying not to be too disheartened and disappointed with losing. And Tyra's fake ass got upset because she couldn't feed on her tears and brokenness
she is not a model at all and i don't get why she hosted the cycle but only beacuse she isn't big in america doesn't mean she is a flop singer so shut up
It's a non union show. And it's not the true modeling experience. It's blue steel cheese. Watch The Face UK with Naomi Campbell. That's true modeling competition... Tyra is not even a real model. She's commercial succes. But she's never walked a runway for Versace for galliano givenchy Louis Vuitton Roberto Cavalli or any designer. Even the basics like Calvin Klein or Donna Karan. Again she's a successful reality star and producer but far from an actual professional model.
I do agree a lot of the stuff said is right and that it’s not a positive thing. EXCEPT that they expect help after the show, why? You went on television, you didn’t get signed to an agency. On top of that an agency sends you jobs and if you book them up to you. Everything in the real world you work for and it’s not handed to you 🤷🏽♂️
How has nobody mentioned Yaya...runner up of season three who went on to continue modeling and even acting in critically acclaimed movies like 'The Butler'
I dont think it was the judges that made the viewers go.. funny how they lost them between 17 and 18.. The cycle lisa won and the cycle that was stupid *cough Allstars cough*
I'm not putting much credibility in Dickenson. She may be pretty, but her beauty is only skin deep. Not to say Tyra is perfect, but Dickenson is the worst example of what fame can do to a person.
Yeah, "World's First Supermodel", my ass. There were many supermodels before Janice Dickinson. The term was first used in 1891, and popularized in the 1940's, and really brought to life with Twiggy (also an ANTM judge) in the 1960's, who was a worldwide sensation. The earliest Supermodels included Cybill Shepherd, Cheryl Tiegs and Jean Shrimpton. Janice Dickinson was neither the first person to coin the term supermodel or the first person to be one.
i feel like they do get to keep their books because thats the only thing they get to take away with them is the work they've done... like thats their tiny leg up from being on the show
When the original judges left and the television screen that showed 'who was still in the running to be antm' came into the room and was no longer a photograph in Tyras hand...It's just a no show.💁
Okay I loved ANTM in the beginning with the smaller judging room and fun challenges before panel and Mr. Jay, Miss J and Nigel. After the British Invasion cycle it really sucked and I never watched beyond the second co-ed cycle. Also hated the point system with the viewers. I think the point of ANTM was to gain experience and advice from professionals in the field. What do people at home know about modeling?? Can’t imagine ANTM without Tyra though
The worst part with Angelique is I'm watching the season she auditioned and didn't make it, and you can work out from what she's saying that she has done everything for money, to survive. Tyra is not so stupid that she couldn't have worked this out.
for me i stopped watching after the all star season 17 because 17 seasons is alot already and it seemed like they couldn't top off a season that had all the most memorable contestants ... and then i came back for season 21 because it was the first co-ed season lol
I don't get why angelea would go back, why any of the models would go back for cycle 17 for example, if they were treated so badly why would they wanne go trough that again, it's easy to talk bad when it's over and no one gets help to become anything, you gotta do this on your own and yes even if you where on a tv show ! The show had to be changed after cycle 17 they had to i think because the people didn't trust the judges anymore because of everything that had been going on after cycle 17.
Wait, Ashley came on the show when Rita hosted (Cycle 23), not with Rob Evans and Johnny Wujeck. It was Kelly Cutrone that was with Evans and Wujeck in Cycle 19.
Tyra yelled at Tiffany bc she wouldn’t shut up. I’m so over this debate. Did Tyra need to lecture her about “not caring,” no. Did she yell at her bc of her blasé attitude, no. People like this are everywhere. They poke and poke then play victim.
We all know they lost 1 million viewers because Lisa won All Stars over Allison. The producers were stupid and remained stupid by letting the J's and Nigel go.
And yes I said link, not credit because I know they credit in the video but I’m talking about linking in the description. So nobody try to come for me with the whole “bUt THey Do CRedIT iN THe VidEO!”

Getting rid of the jays and Nigel was soooo bad. It upset me for sure.
This! Tyra has the "supermodel" title for being one of the most succesful commercial models, but her high-fashion carreer didn't last long
@@ChicaBuenosAires exactly!
*EVER!*
Agree! If I wan Tiffany I would've run up and smacked and pushed Tyra once she finished her tantrum.
She was probably stunned and embarrassed.
LivanaFaolan, Tyra had every right to yell at Tiffany because she had a bad attitude!
LivanaFaolan Tbh I don't even believe those extra comments.
Is that how Rita Ora talked during the entire season?! I got bored just listening to her for 10 seconds!
Yes she did .... and I had to skip her parts
Honorable mention...RAJA queen of season 3 RPDR was a makeup artist on ANTM
I remember that!
Yasss sutan!!
Yasssss...This
Yes!
who care
What killed it for me was when they picked Brittani and Lisa as winners. And letting go of the the Jays and Nigel.
“Lost 1 million viewers between Cycles 17 & 18.”
GEE I WONDER WHY
**screams in Allison Harvard**
*I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
😂😂😂
As a girl from Miami, TIFFANY WAS HIGH FASHION! She went from trapping in the streets of the 305 to almost being a top model. Such a damn shame she gave up the competition before even being eliminated.
What actually happened there? What did Tiffany do to deserve that kind of outburst?
@@biljam972 Tyra was disappointed in Tiffany because she knew she had potential but it seems like she gave up and she laughed off her elimination
@@BradleyBoy thanks, it seems like total overreaction from Tyra side.
I actually miss watching this show
I love how whenever you guys show the rooting for you rant you guys show Tatianna's face. She looks like "this is some bullshit". The girl knew what was up
Rita ora was the worst host. I’m glad they brought back Tyra banks😍
As they should've without her the show wouldn't be here
They needed to end the show before they started the gimmicks. The college edition, British Invasion, the 5’7 and under were all gimmicks.
So ANTM must be the Everest of the fashion world.
Honestly dressing and walking a certain way doesn't matter, that's up to each persona and their personality.
I love when norelle season 3 goes to Japan and she seems so confused about everything
Anti T she’s my all time fave!
She's also said that, even though the show said it promised these contracts with these brands and agencies, it was actually a lie, and you still had to try and earn them
Top 10 behind the scene secrets: they list things that every body knows.
Jenifer Miranda I didn’t know this stuff
Why would anyone think that producers would help them out after the show? That's not their job.
Michelle Hernandez right???
Looking back at this show, there were so many things that were abusive to the models I hadnt noticed before.
All stars (cycle 17) should have been the perfect closure to ANTM, the only good thing that happened after that was Nyle DiMarco winning cycle 22, which was supposed to be the last one
We should have another all stars cycle tbh. Lots of talent didn't get into cycle 17
I would kill for another all star cycle, but only if Allison actually gets to win
Nah, Mame was robbed, though no hate to Nyle, who is also an amazing model
They really only care about the winners of the show. The winners were the ones featured the most during the show
#5 was definitely one that I had a big feeling about haha.
Really appreciated Tyra for cussing out Janice for judging tocarra for being bigger
1 million fans drop in viewership=Jays are let go
Me: Yeah, that’s why... ☕️
@5:54 I NEED THE FULL VERSION TO LEAK OMG
Yes. It has to just so everyone can see how disgusting and evil Tyra and reality show really is.
Tyra seems really mean.
The drop in viewership was because they crowded Lisa instead of Allison, duh.
Why are we not talking about Saleesha?
The show is terrible now I miss the old panel & the drama
ElusiveMusicBox Nah!
Shangela & Allison share the crown of robberies
jay alexander and the other one and nigel barker and tyra made the show. they had so much sass and then nigel was all calm and sexy
Why is Rita Ora even a host? She's a flop singer that isn't associated with the fashion world.
@Ian Kevin And? She's still a flop as a singer and a "model". These modeling agencies probably have hundreds of girls signed to them anyway.
TributesAndUnique she is popular in the UK
she is not a model at all and i don't get why she hosted the cycle but only beacuse she isn't big in america doesn't mean she is a flop singer so shut up
Damn Tyra is brutal
The designer that watched the milk drenched on the silhouette dies every time drew laughs.
Seeing behind the scenes stuff like this has made my opinions of Drag Race and ANTM change...
Paddy 2890 why Drag Race?
I do agree a lot of the stuff said is right and that it’s not a positive thing. EXCEPT that they expect help after the show, why? You went on television, you didn’t get signed to an agency. On top of that an agency sends you jobs and if you book them up to you. Everything in the real world you work for and it’s not handed to you 🤷🏽♂️
How has nobody mentioned Yaya...runner up of season three who went on to continue modeling and even acting in critically acclaimed movies like 'The Butler'
“They allegedly lost one million viewers between Cycles 17 & 18.”
GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I WONDER WHY
Well, blame that to themselves for not having alison harvard win the all star cycle
That’s when the gimmicks started
I dont even see why they care when they win. It never does anything for any of them.
I dont think it was the judges that made the viewers go.. funny how they lost them between 17 and 18.. The cycle lisa won and the cycle that was stupid *cough Allstars cough*
I wonder who Tyra considered replacing her when she was thinking about quitting during Cycle 8
@@nancylloyd1183 yeah never got that. Why she says I'm the first ever super model.
Do the contestants get to keep their modeling books?
Probably not
i feel like they do get to keep their books because thats the only thing they get to take away with them is the work they've done... like thats their tiny leg up from being on the show
I only watch up to the allstars cycle. The more modern cycles are just too different imo. Its the nostalgia that makes me keep watching.
This used to be my favorite show
Why would they expect people to help them after the show? IT'S A SHOW!
Because that was the whole point of the show. Especially the ones that were runner ups.
Janice Dickinson claimed herself to be the first super model!
Bull crap Twiggy was
I don't get why. She wasn't the first one lol
what would make them think rita was a good option to be a host?
Bonita Chaquita probably the only available celeb
@@paolafrias lol just terrible
Maybe if they make this show less like reality tv show and more on modelling camp-like, they may be able to produce more successful “top models”.
That red dress Ashley was wearing sheeeshhh!!!
WAIT I DIDN'T KNOW ASHLEY GRAHAM WAS A PART OF THIS SHOW NOW
Yeah she was a judge in the last 2 seasons of ANTM.
Missed watching this
OMG! Tyra came back. I stopped watching ANTM after she left so I did not know that she returned. I am so going to check out that cycle.
Mr. Jay was such an asset to the show. He made the right move my getting out while the getting was good.
The only decent one in the replacements were Johnny Wujack. He was hilarious! 😂😂😂
I enjoy these types of videos😎😎👡👠
I used to want to try out for this show.
for me i stopped watching after the all star season 17 because 17 seasons is alot already and it seemed like they couldn't top off a season that had all the most memorable contestants ... and then i came back for season 21 because it was the first co-ed season lol
10:53 she looks like a monster high doll lmao
Who is Tyra to tell these girls to cut their hair? Tyra was never seen without a long straight weave or a wig.
Tbf, photo shoots take forever in real life too. To think otherwise is foolish and naive.
TEA!
They poke and poke then play victim.
that gold covered photoshoot could have been done in 5 minutes with a photoshop action
We been knew most of these
Wow that is just so very crazy and a great list I like it a lot
I was done after she let Angelea go the second time. She was from my hometown...
We all know they lost 1 million viewers because Lisa won All Stars over Allison. The producers were stupid and remained stupid by letting the J's and Nigel go.
Tyra: the ultimate manipulator.
I guess Tyra ultimately did not step down after cycle 8 because she needed to let Saleisha win !!!
Can you guys please link your sources? I was trying to look for the video by the daily mail but couldn’t find it.
And yes I said link, not credit because I know they credit in the video but I’m talking about linking in the description. So nobody try to come for me with the whole “bUt THey Do CRedIT iN THe VidEO!”
You know your channel creates really good content and you keep it interesting.... I never liked the show...,:Yet...I really enjoyed watching this video.
💯
they should do one for dancing with the stars
I was skimming through the seasons on hulu, and realized something: I dislike all but like 7 of the winners.
I'm surprised this show hasn't died yet.
"Let's not go there"- tells it all.
I was impressed by her but her crying about Naomi Campbell all the time and being egocentric and self righteous.
This show breaks people down like Scientology does.
