Allison losing twice was the death nail in the ANTM coffin
that's a bit of a stretch. teyana deserved her win.
3 times if you count the first time in All Stars where Angelea was crowned as the winner, just for her to get DQ'ed and then give the title to effing Lisa

I heard Allison was originally supposed to be the default winner for All Stars. But declined the win, because she didn't want to be associated with Angelea's disqualification controversy. So happy to hear Allison's getting married. Yay! :)
No one can ever forget how much potential Allison had during her time on ANTM, let alone during the All-Stars season. I really thought she'd had a chance to win. But, OMFG, that lovely face... 😍

Outside of the whole pre-select winner theory that has been discussed on other outlets, another theory for more later cycles (past cycle 7 or 8) to some of the losses was they gave the win to the finalist that they felt like needed the win and the prizes to help bolster their career more. I think the first indication was the Saleisha from the cycle prior and Whitney was also another arguable winner for this situation.
The fact that producer The Game was so captivated by Allison will always be one of my favorite ANTM moments.

Anya should have won her season hands down, she had by far the best track record, much better than Whitney, and they barely had a bad word to say about her the whole time.
Whitney's win INFURIATED me as an ANTM fan back in the day. Anya really deserved that title.
Also, Anya got a lot of Best Pictures while Whitney only got one. The top 2 should be Anya and Fatima. Whitney should've been eliminated a long time ago. Even though she has a plus size body but her personality is terrible especially when she, Claire and Lauren bullied Dominique over an alarm. Kudos to Dominique for not crying and stand up for herself at that time.

I don't think Caridee reserved her win (despite being likeable). In the context of the season. Melrose had a better track record, plus she KILLED that finale runway.

Allison being consistently ROBBED, destroyed the show. It was never the same. Not sorry about that. I'm glad the show's over. And the truth came out. Tyra and everybody that worked for this show should be ashamed of themselves. For Allison and all the girls they mistreated. Horrible, horrible people.

Totally agree. C3 and C6 were tough calls, but I leaned towards Yaya and Dani. C5 & C10 were absolute bullshit - Nik & Anya were brutally burglarized.

the reason why Nicole C5 won was because they were looking for with a modern look. By no doubt, Nik was beautiful but Nicole had the look that was "in" at the time and they didn't want to take the chance of not letting Nicole win. (The same thing happened with Yoanna, Mercedes was kinda better in portfolio but Yoanna had that model face)

Agreed! Nik was amazing and should have won. A couple of years later I watched Nicole on the runway for an event in the UK where she wore something my friend had made and she was horrible. She literally sulked and had a miserable face throughout the whole thing. She ruined it.

Shandi. She was just amazing and that situation of the one night stand right before the finale just devastated her. But I think she was the most awesome of all the contestants.
The biggest lost was Anya getting 2nd place against Whitney in season 10
I never found Eva overly interesting. But I'm glad Yaya has such an amazing career now.

I think they choose the person who wouldn’t have a career if it wasn’t for them. Most of the runner ups (if they choose) end up having careers due to their stint on the show (as they now have a portfolio).

I have no Problem with Allison not winning her first season. Teyona was great and it was her walk that in the end that won it for Teyona, and Allison's walk wasn't anywhere near as go as Teyona's. But the all-star season is different Allison was obviously the best, I don't know what the judges were thinking.
Honestly, I think the judges, especially Tyra, were shocked by both how well regarded and strong Allison was from the get-go to the end. I have a feeling neither the production nor any of the judges were going to crown her the winner, and they were planning on eliminating her on something she never gave: a bad, or in Dominque’s case, less than stellar week.

It always bugs me on these kinds of shows when a contestant that consistently does a great job doesn’t win over somebody that’s been spotty at best and then gets lucky last second. I feel like that should be taken into account more

Anya was robbed. I personally feel they made Whitney the winner because they wanted a token plus-size winner. Which is just as much an insult to Whitney as it is to Anya. What a sh!tshow.
This and their comment to anya was she comes off as fake, but when they had the challenge to mingle, that was the comment to whitney not to anya.

I have to agree with a comment Ms. Mojo made during the Joanie vs Danielle segment, "if ever there was a time to call a tie, this was it". I also love that these 2 beautiful women truly seem to like & respect each other. Not sure if that was just my interpretation but I hope it was true.
Cari didn't deserve to win. Her final runway performance was the worst in the history of the show. I think the only reason she won was that Melrose covergirl photo was bad, while Caridee was stellar.
@@zairnermuller4960 That's not the only reason. Melrose was too old for Seventeen Magazine when Caridee suited for them perfectly. It was their first contract with ANTM, so they possibly didn't want to take risk.

During a reunion episode for this cycle on Tyra Bank’s talk show, she admitted they were aiming more for high fashion model for the winner, and they felt Nicole, especially as they went abroad, was the most “high fashion”, with other contestants either veering too much on the commercial side, not consistent enough with body of work, and in Lisa’s case, and over their attitude:personality.

I really really think Allison should've won she had alot of great pics. Plus that song/video was absolutely great. She literally made that video look like a fantasy fairytale or something. Angelea’s win on Cycle 17 was understandable. It was more of a growth thing and 3rd times the charm type of thing. But if she didn’t win I just knew Allison would’ve won. Like how did Lisa win?!

I love Caridee and Danielle, but I can understand if someone thought Joanie should have won, and I personally think Melrose should have.
I hate Brittani for the Alexandra drama (that's straight up bullying tbh, and bullies usually think the victims deserve it either) but she was the strongest seriously in that cycle. But Molly still could have won.
And now I looked back, Teyona won hands down in cycle 12, yet Alison should definitely have won cycle 17.

Raina Hein should have won her cycle. And Saleisha should NOT have won her cycle! Saleisha had prior modeling experience, through an agency or outlet that was associated with Tyra Banks in the first place, so she should not have even been on the show!
Raina’s lost to Krista has been most noted of a mindset from mid to later cycles that the show give the win to the contestant they felt like need it more, like Krista (who was 24) over Raina, Ann who notably tall, over Chelsea, but you can pickup from other cycles like Saleisha over Chantal, Whitney over Anya, etc.

I agree. If Melrose didn’t have such a rude attitude, the judges would’ve think different. Also she’s a perfectionist. If she doesn’t do something “perfectly” she breaks down.

Agreed. Lol I remember rooting for CariDee from the get-go. I felt like she was really charismatic and the "girl next door" type of look. Modeling came natural for her. One of my favorite photos from the whole series was her matador photoshoot in Barcelona.

I think the issue is that in the fashion industry you are constantly working with other models, and she isn’t easy to get on with therefore would struggle, and when walking live on the runway, you have to accept things go wrong and the way she had a meltdown about the ripped dress was very unprofessional and again she couldn’t work well with Caridee and just accept her apology and get over it whereas Caridee was apologetic and calm
Also how much they went on at Caridee for a joke that Nigel actually laughed back at and joked with her about is really unfair considering they didn’t talk at all about her meltdowns at challenges, her getting rude with Caridee and her being rude to Mr Jay

oh god is she still on the q train? i was banned from even viewing her facebook page(i kept calling her a hypocrite/etc for her anti blm/anti anything left wing stance)
Funnily enough my favorites usually finished 5th; Kim (season 5), Michelle (season 7) Elina (season 11), Fo (season 12) and Victoria (season 19)
Victoria placed 6th actually. The contestant who placed 5th that cycle is Kristin Kagay.
The way will jardell isn’t on this list is criminal. He should have won that cycle instead of Keith.
Keith was an odd choice to win, but whereas I’ll defend that Nyle being deaf wasn’t the reason he won ( If anything, they would have booted him during semi-finals auditions for that since they weren’t aware of him being deaf when they found Nyle via social media), I think his past as an NFL player may have played into him winning. In addition, I think may won/been pre-select for the following reason:
1. Despite sobering up, Adam drinking issues was going to prevent him from winning.
2. Like with other winners, it was “give the win and prizes to who they felt needed it more
3. Possibly, I wouldn’t put it past Tyra for wanting the male contestant who she may have had a crush on (regardless if she was dating someone at the time) to win.

In my opinion, Allison Harvard is perfect for Japan and japanese anime, she can do cosplay like Candy Candy.
When she didn't win both contest, i stopped watching the show and i do believe it was the Rise and Fall of ANTM.
Dani deserved her win after constantly being basically set up for the drama of the show!
With that argument, I’ll say that Jade may have been the intended winner for Cycle 6, but like Elyse and even Lisa from her original cycle, the production and judges got too exhausted/over them, and decided to eliminate instead on who was supposed to be the winner.
Dani had a better walk but Joanie had much better photos.
I still think it’s the only cycle that deserved a double win, both girls were FANTASTIC models.

If we're really gonna talk first runner-ups; then I'll say Chantal Jones (C9) should have won over Saleisha. Chantal was perfect for commercial modeling and high fashion. Great personality and her post-show work is better than Saleisha's.
Besides her, Anya and Allison! Whitney is (along Keith, Lisa and Saleisha) one of the worst winners in the show's history. Anya had a great portfolio, amazing photos, won several go'sees and never took a single bad photo. Whereas Allison had a look that is hers, unique and different. Even Franca Sozzani (RIP) said how interested she was in her look, Lisa was a walking joke and Angelea was inconsistent as hell. I can understand why Molly and Joanie lost, since both Dani and Brittani were fantastic models. But Anya and Allison? That was bs
I think it was around saleisha that I lost faith in antm. I missed Whitney's series altogether. I think after the jaslene comeback win (which felt scripted) and then seleishia getting the perfect haircut for the Asian market, and coming from a Tyra Banks camp to then win it felt so staged, I didn't watch Whitney's season, just have done recently and once again the story is there for the plus size model to win.
Also Alison was robbed twice

Yes they should have mentioned Chantal. Both Chantal and Jenah should have been the top two. I would have picked Jenah over Chantal (close) but Saleisha? No way. Besides Allison, this was the worst robbery. Actually, the 2nd and 3rd worst mistakes were double robberies…. Saleisha over Jenah/Chantal and Whitney over Anya/Fatima.

Interesting thing about Allison though, is Teyona did deserve her win, they were both neck and neck, so it was anybody's game... But All Stars? That was her time to win smh
I mentioned this elsewhere, but Saleisha and followed by Whitney were the start of a notion (for cycles past 7 or 8) to where they were awarded the win to the girl who they felt needed it more and not necessary they were the best performer. While this has been regarded for winners like Krista and Ann, I think Saleisha was initial to this mindset/theory
Fun Fact : Allison didn't want to win All Stars even tho she totally deserve it. Because of Winning Contract is too strict and too much to follow. That's why.

I thought Teyona deserved the win in her cycle, Allison was strong too, but Teyona always delivered for me.
I thought Anya and Katarzyna would be the final two of Cycle 10. I was shocked when Katarzyna was eliminated so early in the competition, and I was also shocked that Whitney won. Whitney was fine, but she wasn't even the most compelling "plus-size" model that had been on the show up to that point. And don't even get me started on what the show considers "plus size".
Tyra hated Katarzyna for some reason, she even refused to pronounce her name properly.

Allison is basically Raven from drag race that also lost twice & was a run up, twice. Sometimes winning isn't everything. Look at Yaya, sis is killing it on *Our kind of people* 😊😎.
Yaya had a fantastic acting career while Eva unfortunately is an extra on Real Housewives 😩
But different from Raven, Allison was the best performer BOTH times.
People happen to like more Raven but Raven did not outperformed James or Chad
@@albertou218I’ve seen every season of antm like three times. I don’t think Allison outperformed Teyona. She won her cycle fair and square. Allison was interesting but she gave the same look over and over. Her uniqueness is the only thing that made her interesting. She improved in the all star cycle and I think there she outperformed Lisa and angelea and should have won. But definitely teyona deserved to win
1. Allison .. such an ICON and she was more robbed in Allstars than in cycle 12. Teyona was a fierce model .. but cycle 12´s top two was fierce .. but she won the fans hearts

3 Nik Pace .. Robbed !! Sorry Nicole but noone wanted you to win. Nik was so robbed
4 Joanie or Danielle should have won cycle 6 .. but Danielle was a stronger model in person
5. Khrystyana ... was so ROBBED. How Kyla won is confusing. Why?
6 Molly or Brittnai should have won cycle 16. They killed it but both of them had bad attitudes

My top “runner-ups who should’ve won” are absolutely Nik, Allison, & Khrystyana (WTF).
Cycle 3 Amanda & both runner-ups of Cycle 9 I also think we’re most deserving (though all finalists in Cycle 3 were fantastic)
I really liked Joanie in Cycle 6. I liked Dani -- the winner -- too. I was sure Joanie would have taken it because not only did she have the most wins, she also never was in the bottom. But Dani was more statuesque and also looked more at home on the runway. Honestly I agree with the video and wished they had declared it a tie.

But it's interesting to me that judges's criteria for winner changed season after season that even sometimes they contradicted themselves.
Nik, Alisson and Anya were obvious winners, but judges needed show...

Mamé from Cycle 22 definitely deserved to win. Nyle was very one dimensional, he only had a look for luxury brands idc idc, Mamé was always versatile and editorial and they gave Nyle because he was deaf, there I said it 🥴🤷🏾♂️

I actually don’t think they picked Kyle because he deaf. Despite setbacks, he said as able to use deafness/signings to his advantage at points. Nyle’s win definitely felt different, but the show originally was supposed to end this cycle. If ANTM last another Cycle on the CW, I can actually see either Lacey (give the win to the contestant they felt they needed it the most) or Mikey actually winning. In addition to favoring guys, when they could, to win when they allowed them to compete, I think Nyle won moreso since he was arguably the more “working ready” model, and since the show was supposed to end, it seemed they wanted pick a model that going to find work on modeling right after crowning the winner and even hopefully from said “luxury brands”.
In addition, there is one thing that people overlook, despite Mame mentioning she was competing in Miss USA right after competing, that was going to prevent Mame from winning from the start, and that was Mame was pageant girl (and as Mame emphasized, she was the “pageant girl”, even over other contestants, like Robin, Cassandra (Cycle 5), and Hassadah.) Even if they were allowed to compete, I don’t either think Tyra (possibly due to issues with being compared to someone like Vanessa William (watch Robin’s criticism of being too pageantry from the judging of the commercial from Cycle 1 for better context) and ANTM production had any intention to have any winner that came for pageants.
@@marklisowski6549 I get you. However Vanessa Williams and Mamé are two different people. Mamé for the most part has tried her best to distance herself from pageantry and she's VERY editorial, especially with her face and body type.
I still need answers why Whitney won over Anya!! That was one of the biggest robberies in ANTM history!! - including Allison losing to Lisa, Krystyana to Kyla, Chantal and Jenah to Saleisha.

The reason why anya lost is because in the finale on the runway she fell apart and didn't perform well and whitney stay consistent and did well and prevail over anya so I believe that's why whitney won over anya hands down...
What people forget about ANTM when they talk about about who "should" have won is the other factors involved. The final prizes are basically clients with the judges being a modeling agency who is supposed to provide them with what they want. As long as some of the prizes included things like Seventeen and Cover Girl, those very commercial products would always be upset if the judges picked someone their client base thought was a witch. I think that's definitely what happened with Melrose and Ya Ya. There were also seasons when the judges clearly had other agendas. For example, Whitney didn't win because she was the best that season, she won because the show was under fire for not giving plus sized models a fair chance. Don't even get me started on the whole Tyra already knew Saliesha before the show thing. And by the time the social media vote became part of judging, it just officially became a popularity contest.
