didnt want to start another comment thread.. that intro wow! its what I pictured my sought after sound to be.... reminds me of another Daniel... Daniel Lanois
More agree. Love your playing Dan! Interestingly, never seen Dan live, or play much outside of TPS, but his "best playing" I've heard is random NAMM snippets. //Insert philosophical musings about inspiration and self-consciousness.//

The Golden Ratio is basically setting your delay times in a Fibonacci series. Each succeeding time is 1.618 times the previous one. This creates a smooth reverb like effect. I've tried this on my Lexicon PCM 81 with 6 delay lines and it works very well.
Dan...I am pausing this video at the 3:35 mark to tell you that this intro riffage is the best I’ve ever heard from you. You sir, have progressed. Just. Sick.
Oh ... oh, it's a coffee?! ... You see, as always I have no idea about food and stuff. At first I really thought you were browsing the web at starbucks and odering the pedal. XD
We asked a waitress at Hooters once (no lie) how many ounces were in their pitchers...and she looked at us like we were nuts and said...”we don’t put ounces in our pitchers. We put beer”. OMG I lol every time I think about that. (10+ yrs ago).
Dear dan and mick this channel is my favorite if im not playing my guitar im watchin this channel, i watch every video from beginning to end and this show makes my day. Its really awesome for you guys share tones and give advice to other guitarists. Keep it up guys great work
The Binson and the pedals sounded great here, but the 201 is just magical, even side by side with the others. I'd love to see it featured in more episodes
I've had the Volante for about two weeks and I can't give it higher praises. My favorite setting is very close to the RE-201 sound you guys were trying to recreate. The best way to get that sound is to have heads 2 and 3 engaged with even spacing
Just watched this... When they did the A/B, I was SHOUTING "Turn off the first head!!!".... That immediate slapback of the first just killed the clarity of the delays vs the RE201, and was obviously a different delay pattern.
I hope you guys know how much absolute JOY you bring us, your faithful followers. So very grateful for you guys. This episode was epic. Easily in the top 5 episodes of all time. Get in!! Thank you.
The "Gold Ratio" on the Volante refers to a ratio of the distance of the head spacing in which the repeats would not overlap each other as the repeat to infinity, with a bias toward head #1. If you turn up the repeats, you will hear the first few repeats, and then the repeats begin to sound a bit like a washy reverb. The Golden Ratio setting was first implemented by Strymon on their DIG digital delay emulation pedal. The "Silver Ratio" is the same concept, but with a bias toward the 4th head.
@@CliffKantin that way, it’s nice that people who might not otherwise knowingly cross paths with the concept of the Golden Ratio get to run into it on their journey through the best activity on the planet (messing around with guitar pedals of course)
Ahh...... Just buying a volante.... this show confirming and inspiring me further.. and thank you, you two... having this on whilst I muster myself slowly into the day.... filling my living room with your excellent vibes. Clearly you were both enthused ... crescendoing at the end with stereo eargasms. Warm. Earsome. Sound on sound also... Come on..... Beautiful. Very thank you both
Superb play on the proper tape echo delay. They got it spot on. The dials switches and buttons are laid out simply and clear for the corresponding effects. I am blown. It took me ages to get anywhere near the sounds on my current delay pedal.
I just watched the TPS Namm vlog. Awesome guys. But I'm convinced that the reason there's so much new and exciting gear coming out this year is because of you guys. The pedal is king and you guys have put him him there.
The Space Echo is still my all-time favorite, but what this did for me was confirm that the volante can be an absolute BEAST for boards & performances everywhere. Thank you two soo much for this; LOVED it!!! -Aaron
Yep so would we - just been comparing a very early 201 with the same magic preamps as Dan and Micks, with a very late production machine. Also add in an RE-200 and you've got three different vibes on the 201 theme
I know I already commented on the sound on sound portion at the end of this video, but I had to say more. One of the reasons I love you guys so much is the joy and love for playing the guitar that you bring to these videos. I've watched the sound on sound part over and over and over - where Mick hits the pause button and Dan laughs gleefully. Not only does that pause effect sound wicked, but Dan's reaction to it makes me laugh every time. Whenever I'm having a bad day or feeling a bit down, I'll watch that part again and it will make me happy. Thank you so much, guys!
So I will be listening to this episode via podcast on my various systems. The sounds and the playing were very special. The video content was top notch as well, as was the editing. Everyone was relaxed and the show just flowed. Now, I was fixing some dinner while watching and listening. I had just sat down to eat when the episode hit the 1:07:00 mark. Without realizing it, I became totally captured by the sounds I was hearing. I quit eating, cutlery suspended in midair just like a stop-motion film. Those sounds reminded me of Within You Without You/The Beatles. Think of what it took to produce those sounds back then, compared to what you, Mick, Dan and Simon, were able to accomplish in less than half a day. No, you won't go on tour with what you did during this show, but you didn't have to go to Abbey Road to hear the sounds in your heads come out, either. Final thought: I could purchase half of a used Supro Black Magick with the cost of the Volante.
So I took the time to relocate my studio monitors, integrated amp and DAC to my good listening room and listened to this episode again. The soundtrack is really good!!! I recently downsized my home theater from a massive Klipsch Pro speaker based system to a small soundbar based system. While it is really good for ATMOS movies, I have been really missing something on TPS episodes since downsizing.
Been using the Dawner Prince Boonar for about a year, and absolutely love it! I’ve been thinking about getting a Belle Epoch Deluxe, as I don’t have an Echoplex style pedal... but I think the Volante is the direction I’m going to head. I’m enamored with the Echorec tone, but the Space Echo tape delay is awesome- and add to that all the other features, it seems like a perfect choice. One thing I’m excited to try is- using the Chase Tone Secret Preamp in front of it, as I find it to be the most incredible EP3 style preamp that I’ve heard... could be magic! Thanks again for the insight and great introduction to a truly epic piece of kit! I do think I’ll lose a few days though, noodling with the sound on sound feature! Sounded amazing!
Absolutely your best ever, I've watched hours and hours of you guys. Don,t know how I missed this one but I'm ordering the Strymon now! I've never seen Dan so inspired before... Thank you both...
So I know it's a little thing and probably adds unnecessary time to your video prep but I'd like to say how much I appreciate the labels on the switcher.
This is one of the best episodes you've ever, ever, ever done. Would absolutely love to hear a similar type of episode with Digital Delays at some point. SDD-3000 rackmount, TC 2290, Strymon DIG etc.
What a glorious video (and especially that introduction). I had a crazy drive on my way to work, and uttered many a foul word, but I got this video started in the background as I began sorting out my emails for the day and it took me to a blissful happy place. Well done gents, you might have just saved my sanity on this fine Friday. Cheers from across the pond and have a great weekend!
I don‘t need the Volante. .... I don‘t need the Volante. .... I don‘t need the Volante .... who would want a Volante that has a TimeLine and El Cap and a DIG? ... really, no need for the Volante .... but damn, I WANT a Volante! ....cheers, guys, awesome show, great sounds! These modern delay units are just killer in bringing vintage sounds and modern sounds to the table at the same time in easy to use, convenient packages.
Fantastic video mates! Just ordered mine and dispensing with my other delays. I'm going to be a johnny knowitall and remind you that in mathematics, two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities. The figure on the right illustrates the geometric relationship. Expresed algebraically, for quantities a and b with a > b > 0, a + b a = a b = def φ , Dan - that was the best intro you have ever done, I do believe.
Great video gents!! I was going to write before the end of the video was over, about how this felt like a throwback, in a good way. But then you went stereo and then sound on sound, which was another level. Great job again gents!! Inspiring guitar playing
Great show as always. Listened to most of it via podcast on my way to a gig here in Wisconsin. Really appreciate you broaching the subject of the other Strymon delays. I have the El Capistan and DIG on my board currently. They sound great just as this new one does. As I have commented before however, all the variations of flutter, warble, and head selections sound epic at home, but once the band kicks in, all you really hear is what dirt pedal you are using. For me P90s into the D&M Drive carries me away. Thanks again guys.
Very tasty playing from Dan. The Golden ratio setting refers to the the interval between the repeats such that the subsequent notes do not occur at the same time (or at least not until a very large number of repeats have occurred ) thus giving a wash of subsequent notes with no discernible 'pulse' or tempo. Supposedly plants stack their branches moving up the stem accordingly to avoid too much overlap and thereby maximising sunlight capture for photosynthesis. Apologies if that is just too geeky .
The intro was amazing! This is a particularly special episode for me. I started watching That Pedal Show over a year ago, starting with the delay pedal episodes. I had fell in love with the Strymon Timeline and was learning more from Mick and Dan. What happened was I was inspired to pick up and learn to play guitar. Now it's officially been one year since I did so, and here's a Strymon delay that's just gorgeous and brings it full circle. Cheers!
I'm blown away. Luckily nabbed one on Reverb early on. You nailed it: Inspiration Machine! Strymon is headed for the Pedal Hall Of Fame. I shake my head at how well-designed their pedals are. Audio bliss. Brilliant, mates!
The FEEL of the playing in this video! This is why I play electric guitar. Dan, Mick, you inspire me in so many ways. Pedals shmedals... it ain’t about the gadgets. Thank you for sharing yourselves. That is the heart of the matter, is it not? Heading over to Patreon... Cheers
Sold my El capistan, bought the Volante. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The sound on sound is definitely one of my favorite features, was playing with it last week and it was just amazing. Compared to the Binson and Space echo in the video, I think the Volante gets more than close enough, and packs in a ton of extra things no other pedal can do. Especially regarding the stereo stuff with the feedback heads.
Some of the moments with the Echorec Baby & Mick's Strat. it really did sound like 1972 at Abbey Road, DSOTM sessions. Kinda spooky and wonderful. Dan's intro was beautifully phrased, just *insert superlative here* . Bravo.
One of my favorite things about TPS is when Dan explores atypical rhythms or speeds from a delay. Your creativity and ability to draw something out of them is really inspiring. Loved the whole episode, but that intro was just awesome!
Amazing how with so many of these classic FX they just got them "right" in the beginning. Vintage fuzz's, OD's, echos, mods. Albeit often in far more impractical sizes/shapes/reliability issues, but we're still chasing those tones. And whilst there are some immensely impressive versions, the old ones are still the benchmark! At least to my ears anyway. Great show!
I pre-ordered a Volante! I tossed my Timeline and Eventide H9. Volante is everything I was looking for, personally. I use midi and have every delay sound I need available to me on demand. That Belle Epoch Deluxe sounds lovely though.
Got mine yesterday and literally only had time to put it on my board and head off to my gig. So my first impressions of the Volante were truly trial by fire. I love it. It's the delay pedal I've been waiting years for. And to me, the spring reverb sounds really good, of course it's not a big sky or blue sky, but it sounds better than the reverb pedal I was previously using, so the Volante replaced three pedals on my board and elevated my sound. I love it. The end.
The Volante is incredibly tempting. It sounds amazing! This is the dilemma - breaking the gear acquisition cycle. Do I have a delay pedal? Yes, I have several - including two of the Strymon pedals you mention. Can any of them do what the Volante will do? (Rhetorical - the Volante exists because Strymon did the research and identified a market opportunity.) My solution - spend more quality time with the delays I have and work to get the most out them. There will be no shortage of sexy products in the future that you gentlemen will review on TPS. I must firm up my resolve and resist temptation. There will be a time when I succumb to weakness , but not now. Not now! (Holds fist defiantly in the air.)
So glad the Color Driver is back! I bought one after the Hiwatt video you guys did, and man, it’s such a killer pedal! Oh, and I’m loving the Volante as well!
Have been messing about with the BED and Boonar since getting them both on the board. The BED is pure absolute magic as seems to be common knowledge, but I have been completely impressed with how inspiring the Boonar is. I think what is key with the Boonar is getting the internal gain setting matched to your signal, and I think the "original" setting is far far superior to the "modern" setting. It breathes a lot better. There are so many nuanced interesting sounds inside the Boonar, it has exceeded my relatively high expectations.
Beautiful unit! I might replace my Timeline with the Volante for the reasons you stated clearly. Although the Timeline has many more types of delay, this unit has the delays I LIKE the most, and it's super flexible. I love it!
My favourite thing about receiving my new custom iem’s wasn’t listening to my music but listening to this video, glorious through Jerry Harvey Roxanne’s. My experience of TPS has instantly transformed. It’s a y’s so much about the care you put in to recording that it sounds so so good! Also thanks for introducing me to Joey Landreth! More slide specific and lap steel specific content would be incredible, maybe get Robert Randolph in? Cheers, keep it up, Rob x
That RE-201....my god man! I need a smoke and a sandwich after hearing that every time you feature it. It’s just on another level to me. It’s just ridiculous!
Well. This MORE than makes up for the two transistor amp episodes! (Sorry. Couldn't resist.) On its own merits, this is my favorite episode you guys have done in quite a while, and that's saying a lot. My GAS has been dormant lately, and when I first heard about the Volante I was only mildly interested, but this video has me seriously wanting it. The sound on sound bit was magical and the burst of pure, childlike joy from Dan when Mick hit the pause button was priceless!
I thought I heard you say “Golden Ratio” referring to the repeats on the Volante. That has to do with a mathematical series of numbers called the Fibonacci numbers. Nerdy. Long and the short of it is it occurs in nature quite a bit in how plants grow ... the shape of a nautilus shell ... NERDY ... it’s a pleasing ratio that just seems to work. It sounded great on the Volante! Or ... I misheard you. Great show!!!
Related: Check out the Golden Ratio (Phi) compressor pedal from the guys at Crazy Tube Circuits. More affordable 1176-style optical circuit that sounds just as good as the Cali 76 (at least, I assume... I couldn't afford the Cali 76 haha).
While the golden ratio and the Fibonacci sequence are related, the golden ratio predates Fibonacci by a couple millenia. If we are going to be nerdy and pedantic.
This is utterly MAGNIFICENT! A stunning episode of an amazing show. And, i think i have a better question... Gents, take a long look in the (rear view/wing) mirror and ask yourselves this: Isn't the big picture that echo/delay/reverb is really the only pedal that matters, the one pedal to rule them all? All that other stuff wah, drive, chorus 🙄etc is just there to support the Queen of Effects. The D&M is a stunning o'drive but listen at approx 1.05.45 when Mick switches off the delay. If you want drive, just turn the amp up. 🦉🦉🤷🏼♂️🦉
Haven't commented lately because there has been so much content coming on so many great topics. It is taking me awhile to absorb it all. Well done gentleman.
Volante is nice sounding indeed, but am I alone in actually preferring the Boonar (and also the Belle Epoch) sound by quite a lot! To my ears the Boonar has more depth and sounding way more close to the analog units. I'm very impressed indeed. Cheers,
Agreed. The Boonar is going to be a tough pedal to beat - it does the echorec thing better than anything else I've ever heard (besides an actual Binson).
I noticed that, too. The Belle Epoch Deluxe and the Boonar both sound far better than the Volante. As for EP3 Echoplex tones, the BED is probably as close to the original as a pedal can ever get (I have used an EP3 for years). And it's far more convenient and maintenance free. It would be interesting to hear a comparison of the Boonar and the Catalinbread Echorec. The Volante has failed to sell me, although I adore some of its features.
Excellent playing from Dan. That sounded great! I still have a Vox Delay Lab which is a pretty good unit but gets very little love from people generally, undeservedly I may add.
Hi Mickey. Not much in terms of EQ. Each amp has two mics. I prioritize one - whichever sounds best - then mix the other one in to taste - usually fills out the midrange nicely. All the mics go into a UAD plugin of a Neve 1073 preamp where I tweak EQ ever so slightly. Usually roll off a bit of bass and just place the upper middle and treble to a nice spot. Mix all the mics with the mid-side room mics and voila! Cheers!
That Pedal Show thanks for that. Thought it’d be straightforward enough due to your time constraints plus the old adage of getting the foundations right and building from there. 25 mins in and Daniel seems especially enthused in his playing. Yous should consider hooking the output of the red Tele to the national grid and selling them back the power. Mighty machine.
Let’s give Strymon a slow clap, they jam so much function into their products and they sound fantastic! When you guys did the stereo heads, my mouth dropped! It sounded so good in my head phones! Great video guys!
Mick, I'm going to have to take Dan's side on an important issue here - when its the two of you in a room, you simply aren't allowed to worry about a bald spot.
this is fantastic!!! just in the beginning - how much the playing is differing regarding the pedal that's on!!! a 1:1 example of how much the sound of the pedal inspires different ways of playing!!! rare and precious...! thanks TPS
Today, we all witnessed the incredible sense of Harmony and melodic development that Dan is capable of when he's truly inspired...mental.
Totally that! Mick here. It's a wonderful thing!
Couldn't agree more, that playing at the beginning was amazing...what a great way to kick off Friday evening

The 201 and its siblings are the King/Royal Family of analog delays ...
The 201 is so much more reliable than other tape echo (looking at you Echoplex). Brian Setzer said it best, you look at an Echoplex it breaks.

Hats off to Mick and Dan for the spectacular fretboard skills in addition to the wonderful and as unbiased as possible thoughts on some great pedals.
Thanks Aaron! We try to be commercially unbiased but we can’t ignore the bias in our own preferences for gear. :0)

I agree. Would love to have an entire episode on the RE201!
I agree, having entire episodes dedicated to single pedal deep-dives would be fun and just as interesting.
I think it could do with a TPS special.

201, 301, 555 … compare them all. Plus some different Echoplexes, a Copicat, an Echolette … And a TTE and SSTE. Now, that would be a deep dive …
Dan - that intro was heavenly. I could listen to you play like that for hours. Incredible feel and phrasing!
Ah, thanks so much :)
I have watched this one video at least 15 times. The tone is awesome and I am sold. This is my next gear purchase.

Best TPS intro so far! You two keep getting better as players... one of the reasons why your show is my favorite.
Great show, as an EP3 owner I will say that background noise hiss and whooshes are part of the charm
Incredible intro with lots of magic tones around the notes and superb feeling on Dan´s playing. Long live That Pedal Show!

Congrats, what a great video. Perfect intro playing, amazing sounds.
This is one of my favorite TPS videos, both because of the incredible pedals and (especially) the inspired performances. Great job!
My jaw absolutely dropped to the floor when Mick hit the reverse button. Has Dan morphed into Thom Yorke?!
So I know it's a little thing and probably adds unnecessary time to your video prep but I'd like to say how much I appreciate the labels on the switcher.
Thank you! If it's useful, it's worth doing. :0)
Yes, I agree, and thank you.
Wow Dan, inspired playing on the intro!! Very impressed! The Volante sounds great!
Cheers mate :)
Expresed algebraically, for quantities a and b with a > b > 0,
a + b a = a b = def φ , Dan - that was the best intro you have ever done, I do believe.
Great video gents!! I was going to write before the end of the video was over, about how this felt like a throwback, in a good way. But then you went stereo and then sound on sound, which was another level. Great job again gents!! Inspiring guitar playing
Best demo of Volante by far. It’s a must buy now!
Cheers!
Just getting to this one now. Sorry for the... delay.
ICWUDT.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
I'm blown away. Luckily nabbed one on Reverb early on. You nailed it: Inspiration Machine! Strymon is headed for the Pedal Hall Of Fame. I shake my head at how well-designed their pedals are. Audio bliss. Brilliant, mates!
I could comment more, but instead I'm gonna watch the episode again as it's just magical.
I'm on the verge of selling my el cap but I've heard that the repeats are more organic that the Volante and any truth to that ?
Some of the best playing I've ever seen Dan. Very tasteful.
Some of the moments with the Echorec Baby & Mick's Strat. it really did sound like 1972 at Abbey Road, DSOTM sessions. Kinda spooky and wonderful. Dan's intro was beautifully phrased, just *insert superlative here* . Bravo.
Dan the man ... what an into !!!! VOLANTE comes close and you through in MIDI ... I’m in for sure
What an awesome intro! Dan!! You beast!
Great show!
It sounds warm, natural and clear! What a sound of those old delays.
I pre-ordered a Volante! I tossed my Timeline and Eventide H9. Volante is everything I was looking for, personally. I use midi and have every delay sound I need available to me on demand. That Belle Epoch Deluxe sounds lovely though.
The experimental stuff towards the end of the video was absolutely astonishing
Belle Epoch Deluxe is best sound in the video 👍 RE201 was awesome too.
I love it. The end.
I like the sound and relative simplicity of the Boonar. It does what I want without getting lost in the weeds.
Dan's playing on that intro was just magic, well done sir!
The Volante is incredibly tempting. It sounds amazing!
This is the dilemma - breaking the gear acquisition cycle. Do I have a delay pedal? Yes, I have several - including two of the Strymon pedals you mention. Can any of them do what the Volante will do? (Rhetorical - the Volante exists because Strymon did the research and identified a market opportunity.)
My solution - spend more quality time with the delays I have and work to get the most out them. There will be no shortage of sexy products in the future that you gentlemen will review on TPS. I must firm up my resolve and resist temptation. There will be a time when I succumb to weakness , but not now. Not now! (Holds fist defiantly in the air.)
David Hogeboom well done sir
Lol nice! I will join you in the fight! To the resistance!!!
I did not resist temptation
I'd say if you love the echorec sound and don't have a clone already this is a great reason for the volante, I stay on the drum setting predominately
DANIEL! Such tasty playing on that intro, well done.
Thanks Richie :)
So glad the Color Driver is back! I bought one after the Hiwatt video you guys did, and man, it’s such a killer pedal! Oh, and I’m loving the Volante as well!
Yes... a expensive day Friday is.
i bought a color driver to i cant wait !!
Daniel, your chord game has grown to another level. Very beautiful playing this week.
Not even 2 minutes in and WOW tone! Thank you, gents. Getting comfy for this one.
Beautiful unit! I might replace my Timeline with the Volante for the reasons you stated clearly. Although the Timeline has many more types of delay, this unit has the delays I LIKE the most, and it's super flexible. I love it!
See, I would really miss the low-fi delay, but there is no real reason not to have both!
You absolutely sold me on this with the sound on sound. That is seriously wizard stuff.
Cheers, keep it up,
Rob x
The end of the video sold it for me. About an hour in I suppose. Just magic. Well done, fellas
That RE-201....my god man! I need a smoke and a sandwich after hearing that every time you feature it. It’s just on another level to me. It’s just ridiculous!
That might be the best I’ve heard Dan play on the intro....very very nice
I have watched this vid about 10-15 times to hear Dan’s playing.. bravo
Sound on sound looping. I’ve no idea how it works either but my god, it works. Awesome Dan. Just awesome.
I think we all need tabs for that intro Dan. That really close arpeggio stuff was amazing.
Just what I've been waiting for. Also, I wish I played as well as Dan does. So inspiring. Thanks guys.
"gentle analog throbbing in the background" - 'excitement' for every pedal nerd.
It is referencing the golden ratio.
How is this comment this far down? Yes this is exactly what Golden Ration means, get this to the top so Mick/Dan see it!
Related: Check out the Golden Ratio (Phi) compressor pedal from the guys at Crazy Tube Circuits. More affordable 1176-style optical circuit that sounds just as good as the Cali 76 (at least, I assume... I couldn't afford the Cali 76 haha).
Ah, I said something like this, too, and now see you beat me to it. :)
While the golden ratio and the Fibonacci sequence are related, the golden ratio predates Fibonacci by a couple millenia. If we are going to be nerdy and pedantic.
That Space Echo Show please! YES! Sounded epic in this video. Would be great to hear pedal options for that sound too.
Cheers,
There was more bass in it. Wonder if one could achieve the same by turning up the bass and the volume for the Volante. Interesting!
Agreed. The Boonar is going to be a tough pedal to beat - it does the echorec thing better than anything else I've ever heard (besides an actual Binson).
Let's go Team Europe!
@@JP-kf7bs There was a previous TPS video about the Binson. Both the Boonar and the Catalinbread appeared there.
I have been waiting for this since I saw the Volante revealed!
Excellent playing from Dan. That sounded great! I still have a Vox Delay Lab which is a pretty good unit but gets very little love from people generally, undeservedly I may add.
Loved the bit where you were dialling in the space echo. Super hypnotic. I adore echo. Sounds so good. Deposit down on Volante. Can’t wait.
Favourite opening sounds so far. Awesome.
I'd love to know what yous do post production wise, if anything. Sounds amazing.
Would love to see a space echo episode. Maybe get a Boss Re-20 to compare
they kind of did that in the TGU video when they visited thomann :)
Great idea.
Starting around 28:00 the hair stood up on the back of my neck. That is THE MOST inspiring sound.
Mick, I'm going to have to take Dan's side on an important issue here - when its the two of you in a room, you simply aren't allowed to worry about a bald spot.
this is fantastic!!! just in the beginning - how much the playing is differing regarding the pedal that's on!!! a 1:1 example of how much the sound of the pedal inspires different ways of playing!!! rare and precious...! thanks TPS
