I was shocked, happy, and sad. The performances especially Love me right, kill this love, and very nice were my faves. I knew evil editing was going on especially with The Chinese contestants and Kamden. Poor boy 😔
I was so madddd at the obvious evil edit of Krystian! It was clear from ep 1 with 0 screentime that mnet doesn't want him so they had to evil edit him. All Koreans fell for it but luckily someone already exposed mnet (Watch Le Sapphire video on youtube) Because Krystian did nothing wrong. He was just translating and he did an amazing job.
actually zang hao harmonized with mathew not zihao you can see that zihao didnt open his mouth and in zang haos fancam you can see that zhang hao is doing the higher harmony
Let’s be honest Gunwook SAVED the “leftover” trainees from having to compete against the avengers of g group. Those poor no star/1 star boys would’ve been massacred by G groups KTL team. Gunwook knew this and helped put together the best possible team of remaining trainees to go against G group KTL. That is SELFLESS not SELFISH.
If I were one of those trainees I would be really grateful for Gunwook's decision. It was practically a su*cide mission to go against the avengers team and yet Gunwook bravely took the burden. And as a viewer, I'm grateful too... We probably could've had another "Hellbayah" if Gunwook hadn't persuaded Hwanhee to perform KTL with him
Really? i think it was more of a selfish decision and i am perfectly fine with that. especially given that the people in the group were mostly, if notall jellyfish trainees. he did what was best for himself and his team and that is perfectly fine. anyone who has a problem with that can go and jump into a lake and chill. but i think it is a stretch to say he was saving anyone. let's be real here, those rejects would lose against any other team. at least going up against the avengers would have been a more honourable way to die.

Not sure if anyone said this but Zhanghao was actually the one harmonizing with Matthew during the first prechorus! If you look closely, Zihao doesn't move his mouth during the prechorus but you still hear another voice. Further looking into it, if you look at Zhanghao's fancam, you see HIS mouth moving during that part and its at a higher voice. It was them both I love them for that.
I agree with you on Gunwook. Gunwook KNEW that the other trainees left wouldn't have even stood a chance against KTL G-group. It would've been all the "leftover" trainees vs. an Avengers team. I'm glad that Gunwook had even the guts to be like "Hey let's try it!" Again, I also heavily agree with you about Kamden & Krystian. Was Kamden most likely frustrated? Yes, I'm sure he was because he's the only one who can't effectively communicate with ALL the members in the group. Additionally, I also see why it would frustrating because other people want to try out for the main rapper... but they can't speak Korean well and he does. BUT it's important to keep in mind that the trainees should be allowed to try out for parts they want. Krystian was literally translating and was confirmed by Mandarin speakers. People are hating on Krystian for a 3-minute clip that was edited and rearranged by a company that literally doesn't even try to hide their dislike for Chinese trainees. PLUS it's a 3-minute clip of HOURS of practice. I was really disappointed to see that two talented people; Kamden and Krystian, who are both not given any screen time till now are being finally given some screen time, but instead of it being about their talent, it's this stupid drama bs.
as someone who speaks mandarin, the way mnet cut the whole krystian x kamden convo did not make sense. like- it was very obvious krystian was translating
maybe this is just me, but gunwook has never come across as arrogant; he’s just a capable contestant who knows his own strength. i’m not saying that everyone has to like and support him, you’re entitled to liking and not liking who you want, but it’s crazy that this “big bad and scary” narrative is being spread around this eighteen year old. personally, i really respect his confidence and how strategic he is, but again, that’s my own opinion. (unrelated, but thank you for covering the kamden/krystian situation because i really didn’t know what to think at first!)
I’m not buying the arrogant angle either. I just see him as very determined and serious about this competition and about his career. Though I do feel bad for him at times because I feel like he puts a lot of pressure on himself. And when it doesn’t work out (like when he broke down about their KTL performance) it shows that he gets very affected by it and feels disappointed and is harsh on himself. It’s quite heartbreaking to watch. Either way I have been voting for him and I hope he succeeds in his dream even if it’s not on this show.
Same. That actually just makes me want to vote for him more. He's aware of his capabilities and he's confident that he can win. Just makes me feel he deserves this even more tbh
Honestly I also thought that he came off as annoyingly arrogant at first, but after watching ep 3, I realized he's just a confident person who knows what he's capable of. And my heart broke after seeing him beat himself over his group's loss. I hope he doesn't lose his confidence!
personally i don't think he is intimidating he has a lot of skill, but tbh for this type of performance I can kinda see why he wasn't in the top priority for some people, I feel like his strengths lie in stage presence and dance, but we havn't heard much of his singing, and a bit of his rapping so I feel like they wanted more well rounded trainees for this.
Did anybody else feel like the three stars for Yujin (and Gyuvin) were actually quite generous? Forgetting lines is a pretty major mistake and the other trainees who received three stars all performed cleanly (eg. Jiwoong, Cong, Taerae)
DUDE SAME, imo they were very overhyped bc of their visuals. They’re honestly like filler members, they don’t have any strong suits, just generally rounded. Like how are you gonna forget majority of the lyrics, dance with no confidence, and expect to get a 4 star bffr. People are going too nice on these kids just because “they’re young, they’re sick, the mentors are too mean 🥺” MAYBE THEY SHOULDNT DEBUT IF THEYRE SO VULNERABLE THEN. I would gladly take keita, taerae, haruto, literally anyone else than yujin and gyuvin.

Want to correct you a bit about Love Me Right's G Group! Wumuti voluntarily gave his part up to Jay during the distribution of parts. If the editing is to be believed, he was intimidated about going up against Hui as a Main Vocalist. Jay had originally been gotten the killing part, but switched with Wumuti when Wumuti asked.
Oh yes. initially, jay was given the killing part. watching it, i didn't understand why. jay was the best vocalist in that group by far and should not have been considered for anything else other than the main vocal position. Wumuti got the main vocal position and even while trying out for it, it was clear that he was not having it easy. and then he hears Hui try the highnotes and realizes he is hitting above his limit and so he openly tells the group that he doesn't think he can do it and that the pressure of going up against Hui was too much for him. so he recommends Jay who willingly gives up his killing part for the position he should have been given from the very beginning
Gave is not the right word. He did give the the main vocal position to Jay, because he can't take on the pressure with going against Hui. But, in exchange Jay gave up the center position for it. I prefer the word surrender in this case. He surrendered the position to Jay, and Jay willingly gave up the center position for the team. Wumuti suggested the change. Which is a smart decision as the leader.

The editing around Hui is super weird. I feel like the show is trying to paint him as desperate and overwhelmed all the time, while simultaneously acknowledging how talented and over qualified he is. It's like they're setting him up for an improvement arc that he doesn't need. Editors can try, but they'll never convince me that he's struggling in any category. He remains in my top 9. He and Jay MUST debut together ❤️ As well, using his performance as a draw for next week again is irritating. 🙄
I find it very odd for mnet to not mix the trainees for this round. In pd48 and in gp999 the groups started working together since the first evaluation so it is very strange that for bp this round is g vs k. I’m kind of worried for the g group specially, voting ends soon and depending on who wins the battle they may be screwed. Koreans are not voting for g group trainees (as usual) and seeing how Korean’s votes weight more and some of the k trainees may get the benefit, we can se like half of the g group disappear in the next elimination. Hope I’m wrong but very worried for them, I’m encouraging people to vote more for g group since they can’t count on korean votes unlike k group. Anyways, my favorite performance was the love me right, Jay slayed that, I hope he debuts (he’s my 1st pick), and Haruto, Winnie and the others did an amazing job too.

According to a Korean, Bp999 is not the talk of the town. Mainly, the viewers came from the overseas. So if you want your favorite to vote. Just do vote. Plus, it will help a lot incase Mnet pull another 50/50 votes.

That’s what I’m saying, if Korean voted weight more and they are only voting for Koreans it is up to global fans to vote por g group trainees. Similar to when in gp999 at the finale they were mostly Koreans because they were voting for k group. There’s a reason why the foreign line in Kep1er ended up in 9,8 and 7
The whole Kamden & Krystian situation has me side-eyeing real hard because MNET can paint whatever narrative or paint a whole scene a way they want to with a thousand different scenes & cuts added in. Also a lot of Koreans got reallll xenophobic over this. It’s also crazy that 52 of them are only going to make it & trainees like Hong Keon Hee, Han Yuseop, Dong Dong, Ji Yun Seo & etc are not even going to get their just due & their really good both Hong & Dong are really stable rappers.
Also I really see Sung Hanbin Zhang Hao Wang Zi Hao Park Gunwook Matthew Seok Haruto Anthonny Kim Jiwoong Lee Seunghwan Jay I see any of them debuting Sung Hanbin & Zhang Hao for sure.

thisss, if anything krystian was the only one thinking about kamden bc he actually tried to relay some info about what he was saying into the conversation, but the other trainees who we KNOW from previous content are fluent in english didn't even bother, it was very suspicious but then again that less than 5 min of many days worth of practice

As a Lee Hwanhee fan i never thought for one minute Gunwook was being rude or arrogant, i just saw great teamwork and a strategic side, he really was looking out for the whole group. Even tho they lost we saw they were a talented group that really deserves so much more.
Since I found a fellow Gunwook supporter I would like to give my mini Gunwook rant: It's crystal clear that mnet is taking advantage of this boy's "big and scary" persona and to be fair it makes for good television, if anything it makes him waaay more interesiting than half of the other contestants. But let's not forget that this is an eighteen year old boy, like be serious; he isn't even close to being a bad person. Lol funny how it's a survival competition but when Gunwook does his best to survive and seriously compete, he's villainised. Just goes to show this is just a rehash of pd101 with a different name and a show where some companies probably made a deal with the directors and are using this to promote their predebut trainees on a low-key manner. I agree with this, never understood him being portrayed as arrogant. Since the first episode I just thought he’s cool and confident. The only thing I noticed was off was how they edit him and how they try to make him unlikeable.
To me, Gunwook made the best decision to strategise and push for his KTL group. At that point in the selection process, there were so little strong trainees left and the chances of their success would have been way worse if they didn't quickly team up. He probably also knew that the KTL song would just go to the leftover K team (who's most likely also the weakest) because everyone was avoiding it - the competition would have just been so ridiculous and humiliating if that happened, and I would like to think that he cared for the pride of the K group as a whole so that's why he stepped up. He knew that the chances of them winning were so slim but I'm glad they still put up a great fight till the end. I've been rooting for him since the beginning and god I hope he finds success here.
7:30 Actually, what happened was that Keita gave him one of his parts as He (Min) felt that he had too little lines. it was not necessarily the killing part as the parts are already distributed by the producers based on parts. and so all the parts already come with their lines. keita had the killing part/center and he had lines assigned to him. Min was one of the sub rappers and he already had his lines. but he was afraid he would fade into the background. Somehow, the masters seemed to have an issue with this. And it was only because the lines have already been assigned to each position and that can't be changed. their problem was never that he didn't do it well but that it wasn't supposed to be his part
i understand why they didn't let him do that. they need the parts of the two groups to be parallel for the voting at the end where they tally up individual votes for the G/K group members of each song. like they pit the two main vocals of each group against each other and then add up the votes to see which teams wins. it would completely mess up everything
As a Gunwook's one pick : LOUDER PLEASE ! 👏👏👏 He is talented as hell, he has confidence, great leadership, and above all, he has GUTS. Park Gun Wook is my main slayer. Since I saw him in the first episode I’ve been voting for him. I don’t like the “big & scary” narrative that’s forming. It’s insecurities of other contestants being used as a weapon against Gun Wook. I do understand the arrogant comments tho. He needs to understand that he can’t make a group win just by his presence alone. If he let go of that pressure on himself I think he could go really far. I’m going to keep voting for him & I hope he doesn’t end up as a series villain. Also, the G group with Kamden and the lack of communication was annoying & I agree it looked super edited to be messy. It’s hard for me to form an opinion bc it seems super chopped.
I honestly hate how in survival shows, charms always win over real talent. 50% of the decision making should be given to the star masters, and 50% global votes, just to be more fair. Personally my top 9 are: 1. Jay 2. Zhang Hao 3. Sung Hanbin 4. Park Gunwook 5. Lee Yedam 6. Seok Matthew 7. Keita 8. Haruto 9. Lee Hoetaek
I’ve watched Krystian in Youth with You and he’s totally different from what that clip is trying to paint him. He’s even good friends with Liu Jun, a (former?) choreographer of 1MILLION. He definitely come across as arrogant if you do not know him well. That’s because he has an abundant amount of self-confidence. He was teased a lot about that in YWY. And even if we just base it on that clip, we can clearly hear him speak English, probably mainly for Na Kamden’s sake. I really hope people appreciate how hard it is for foreigners to compete in competitions like this. They’re in a different country with a totally different culture, far from their own people, and with a very big language barrier. While Korean contestants can focus 100% of their time and effort in practicing, the foreign contestants must also spend a large portion of their time in learning the Korean language.
Also about the Gunwook thing, Gunwook isn’t arrogant, he may have a bit of pride in himself but he clearly understands his fellow jellyfish trainees and himself and I think he demonstrated understanding of the other trainees on his team as well. He even said something like “don’t say that about yourself” when a trainee said how they can’t dance or sing. To me that is showing how he believes/believed in his team. I can understand maybe being intimidated by him at first but when you see him more I think he is just confident in himself and he is very strategic but is also caring and looks out for who he is teaming up with.
Yes. Gunwook isn't a bad character. He's actually admirable especially with their culture being timid or whatever. He's courageous and headstrong. It's not a negative thing. Especially not in a competition where you have to prove yourself. He's even taking his team with him so they have as many chances at screentime as him. That's hot af. He also specialised in rap in wild idol and he's out here doing vocals. Stan him for a better life
My top 9 is changing as episodes air but they are Gun Wook, Kim Jiwoong, Lee Hoe Taek, Wang Zi Hao, Zhang Hao, and Seok Matthew, Jay, Keita, and Hwanhee. I have my eye on some trainees like Ma Jing Xiang and Cong. I love seeing the stages and I’m biased because I love Pentagon, so I’m hoping for Lee Hoe Taek to debut. I love how you defended Gun Wook. He’s clearly leader material and he needs to debut! I don’t understand the issue with Kamden and the other trainees. It’s very clear it was edited to create tension between the trainees but it looks like Krystian is trying to communicate with the other members. It’s a Mnet show so you gotta take it with a grain of salt. Great video and I’m excited for more! ☺️🥰
I don't know if anyone said this yet but it was acutally zhanghao that harmonized with matthew in the kill this love stage. if you watch their fancams, you can tell zhanghao is singing and zihao isn't. i think they all still did rlly well tho! zihao stood out to me a lot, idk why mnet hasn't been giving him screentime

Gunwook has been one of my top 9 from the start and I was actually impressed with his plan and strategy of teaming up with Hwanhee & the other jellyfish boys. For his young age which he doesn't look like it, he knows how to play the survival show game already. It must be because he came from Wild Idol. Come to think of it, the way he knows how to play the game, he might win other reality shows like Survivor or Big Brother for example. LOL. Also... HE MUST DEBUT. We all need a member who can wear the legendary MISBHV shirt like Juyeon wore in Breaking Dawn and he has the body type for that outfit.

Some may take it as him micromanaging, but his plan actually came out with good results. Screentime for hwanhee and his Jellyfish teammates. Idek how they can perceive it as selfish when he knew his plan could ONLY work with his teammates' help. This is a competition. The way he plays should be somewhat a standard already
Gunwook managed to form a group good enough to stand up against the avengers team among the "leftover" trainees. He saved the last batch of unchosen trainees from performing KTL. He also divided the parts that could show everyone's strength. He's one of the best strategists on Mnet survival shows, if you ask me.

as a Chinese fan, I thought at first that Kamden was a little impatient with the parts but then thought "oh mnet's evil editing is making him look bad" also I don't understand Korean so I have no right to judge. Later, I googled "boys planet" online after the live stream to find that Kristian was being slammed on and I was so confused. he's not one of my picks but the mandarin conversation seemed friendly to me I did not expect to see Kristian in a bunch of articles but honestly, he's getting positive and negative clout
the reason kamden was “impatient” (imo he really wasn’t) was because they had a little bit of time to arrange the lines of the song and practice, as seen in the drama of Min wanting to try out for the killing part again. But i definitely do agree with most of your opinion (i don’t think there was any malicious intent by Krystian or the other members).

Ricky is fluent in english he used to live in america including kamden there are 4 fluent english speakers there is no way they just straight up ignore him plus the convorstation didn't even make sense
whenever i feel like i don't like a trainee i have to stop myself and analyze why and in both gun wook and krystian's cases, it became clear that i was getting swayed by mnet editing, i hope other fans can see things from an objective perspective before jumping to conclusions. they're still not in my top 9 but that's just because other guys are on my radar

Oh a technical basis I think Hui is the best vocalist, but with consideration to the members I want in the group and my preferred concept (Songs like Love Me Right/Call Me Baby) I think Jay is a clear main vocal pick. His audition and LMR show such good sense and style. My top 5 are Jay, Zhanghao, Matthew, Keita, and Zihao. I have said I will one pick Matthew when the time comes but Ima panic vote whichever one needs it most towards the final. I can see realistically not all will make it but a girl can wish right?
I feel like matthew has been locked in for G01, zhang hao is stronger than jay but weaker than matthew in one pick strength, jay is a toss up but he's my one pick
With the Jay thing, there’s absolutely zero proof that he is a bad person (the person who made the initial bigoted accusations apologised for them being fake), yet a lot of proof that he isn’t (e.g. he told people off for using slurs in his discord and has rules in both his twitch and discord for people not to be bigoted). The only thing people have against him is that he’s very hype house TikTok influencer quirky (if that makes sense) So we’re hating on people for being themselves now. We hate people who don’t conform to what we want yk? (Is the general consensus)

I had a lot of thoughts about Kamden and Krystian situation because way too many people online kept saying how there is a limit to evil editing etc, when honestly speaking - no there is not 🤣 Editing can frame anything in any way the editor wants. The "well, he had to say it for them to edit it in the first place" - sure. He might have also said it in a completely different context and then mnet put it in as if he was always cutting Kamden when he spoke. 2. I watched YWY3 good 3 times and Krystian is a bit overconfident, but a harmless child. The idea that he was able to hide his evil side for 22 3 and half hour long episodes of YWY3 + some variety shows made for the survival show, but showed this side like it's not a big deal in Boys Planet is just laughable for me. 3. Conspiracy theory time coz it's always fun - Mnet intentionally wanted to make Krystian the villain, because he was never "their pick to debut", but he was popular even with ZERO screentime. I mean, dude was ranking 22 when all the episodes ever showed of him was seconds of his reactions to other performances. It was easy to edit him out in the first episodes, because they never show all performances during the first ranking. But now, with team battles, whenever they like it or not, they would have to show some of him. They don't want people to like him and vote for him, so the only option was to make him look like a dick.
And yet, when you watch the fancam it's not like he got so much lines he barely get any, if he was doing all that to be evil and for him to get more lines, he would have... but watching him being the back up dancer and had a few lines ... it is very clear it's Mnet editing... cause man *why doing all that? if to just being the dancer*

I really wish that mnet would've waited to broadcast all the performances until ep4. The boys that have performed already are the boys that mnet has been pushing to debut (you can tell by the editing), and they're going to get a week longer voting time than the boys performing in the forth ep who will only have two days. Maybe it's because my pick is in a group that hasn't performed yet idk. From what I've seen mnet has been obviously pushing certain boys and it's making me almost dislike the show. For example when they used the shine group to push hui's 'storyline',, the boys didn't get to introduce themselves and we only got to see a small portion before the camera switched back to hui. I love hui but mnet is making him out to be desperate and focusing only on him during the love me right k group instead of letting some of the other boys shine (lol) If you can't tell my pick is itsuki and I'd really appreciate if people would help support him, yall don't have to though, since we all have our own picks.

Talking about krystian , I knew form the China survival show ywys3 , he's a very good ppl though..although I don't really like him at first but I really do like him after ..he even manage to get in to final of ywys3 but unfortunately the show stopped because of some incident..if not he probably will debuted
The top 9 for the fancam was views plus likesx100. This means the amount of likes a contestant got on their video was much more important than the amount of views: 1000 likes = 100.000 views. Zhang Hao probably got a lot of people checking him out bc he was the center but at that point in time (early january) he wasn't that popular yet and the contestants above him already had base. On the other hand Oh Sungmin(K12>K8), Jay(G10>G6), Ricky(G11>G8) and Matthew(G19>G9) all weren't in the top 9 for their group's fancam ranking when looking at views only.
i've been enjoying the show so much, weird editing and all. compared to gp999 the atmosphere is a lot more balanced between competitiveness and humor. g group's kill this love blew me away, my favorite performance so far and immediately put seok matthew and keita in my top 9. excited for k group's love me right bc i think the winner is gonna be a very close battle. for my top 9 currently i have: sung hanbin, zhang hao, jiwoong, gunwook, keita and seok matthew. i'm waiting for more episodes to fill the other spots but keeping an eye on haruto, gyuvin, lee seunghwan and jay.
People are hating on Yujin and Gyuvin as if they are the worst atleast they are good dancers. They are the same people voting for Daeul. Or please tell me what Jiwoong have shown us till now for him to be this high in ranking (it's cause he have a big fandom backing him up)or just compare them to Yujin and Gyuvin Ig we will get our answers.
Well it's mnets fault cause it's obvious they are being pushed. Yes they are good dancers but their vocals are lacking. Plus...there 3 Yuehua trainees in the top 9. THREE. Do you really want a 3rd of the group to be from one company? And Jiwoong can at least sing. I was wary about him too cause he's an actor but he's balanced in both dancing and singing.

Have you seen the signal rest he had many voice cracks and he did the dance wrong the masters also made fun of it after he left the room so Gyuvin was more consistent than him in terms of vocals as for you Yujin case he is a freestyle dancer and not everybody needs to be a good vocalist in a group we have many examples of idols who are not good vocalist but great dancers. While both Jiwoong and Gyuvin are popular for thier visuals Gyuvin is a better pick cause he is a good dancer, great Chem with other trainees and fun to watch (if you watch there youtube content). If Yujin and Gyuvin are not deserving neither are Jiwoong and Daeul who are in the top 9 but I see nobody hating on them despite the fact that they both lack much more in comparison to Yujin and Gyuvin. It's just international fans have gotten into a hate train for them just like they did with Bahiyyih. As for the 3 Yuehua trainee thing. There were 2 starship trainees in top 5 in produce 48 and 3 starship trainees in top 11 in producex101 I don't see anybody having a problem with it that time.
Have to correct some info here. In KTL G team case, min cried because he got only like 3 word in the whole song, which is very bullshit for me. At first his friend want to share their line with him, but teacher refuse that idea( mnet be a b*t*h as usual). That’s why he cried. 2nd case is LMR G team, wumuti is the one suggest to switch his main vocal role with jay after seeing that hui will be main vocal of K group. Jay accept this idea without any hard feeling and say that it’s for the team, which is a right decision for G team if you asked me. Jay unique vocal is the best choice to fight with Hui’s vocal here.

I thought Gun Wook only advocated for himself and did the smart move. Them doing kill this love got them the most attention. It was the only GG song, the G group had popular trainees so going against them would automatically put eyes on them .
Mnets editing is super shitty this season because like there are so many editing clips where trainees just magically appear in different places my memories kinda but like I remember the my house performance there was a clip where the blue guy was on stage and I think the mentors were talking to him but when the mentors appeared on screen he was suddenly sitting with the other trainees
Yujin and Gyuvin are being shoved down our throats and it is annoying to me. I'm glad they chilled down on Gyuvin. honestly, besides their visuals, they seem pretty overhyped
I don't vote for them because i know they Will end in the final lineup cause of their visuals, but i AM ok with that, there are worst like......Gaeul. Glad I'm not the only one who sees it. Also if they debut, along with Zhang Hao (who I think is actually ready to debut) then a third of the group would be from Yuehua. I don't think that's fair to other companies.
Kamden is getting more attention because of the evil edit of his team, and Netizens are commenting that his visuals are similar to Yujin's. He's a good rapper, probably one of the top rappers on the show. Yujin beats him in dance though. I get the feeling that Mnet is prepping more angel edits for Kamden if he makes it past this elimination round.
Is the show assigned to multiple teams for editing threads and those threads are then tracked, like fancams, to see which gets the highest ratings? Because sometimes it seems like there is a cute storyline editing [e.g. Hiroto and similar Fighting! I'm rooting for the underdog if you're cute, plucky and talented] and then there is the expected evil editing [Na Kamden/Krystian/Chinese members] and then there is Seok Matthew [I love you, I want you, Seok Matthew - OK, we get it, they love Matthew and are setting him up against Sung Hanbin, I wish they wouldn't do that because I like both trainees A LOT] and targeted evil editing [Gunwook - c'mon, if you can strategize in this environment + dance/sing/perform @ 18YO, you're at another level, would you agree??] and mixed signals editing [what do they actually want from Hui's presence? The constant cliffhangers are making me tear out my hair, the questions to incite him to cry is frustrating, pushing him to perform over the top so they can give him a less than expected all star score makes me want to scream: hey, Lee Hoe Taek is a human being, too! Treat him better!] Other than that, G Group Kill This Love was the highlight of the episode, the red smear sealed the deal. Thank you for your update/reaction. It's probably something mnet pushed him to say. They are trying to have K group and G group compete against each other. Dayeon from Kep1er also said something similar in the early episodes. Don't dwell on it too much.
I absolutely adore Gunwook!! He's talented and he takes pride in that. Gunwook takes this survival show seriously and ACTUALLY does shit to survive. Seeing an 18y/o get villainized for wanting the best for him and his friends is sad and frustrating. Also, the stigma and the way they show/see him as JUST this big scary dude is weird. That man is a fetus compared to other trainees (like Hui). What's intimidating about him isn't his looks (he's gorgeous btw🤌), it's how he does things. He strategizes and performs like it's the last stage. Though, I think he pressures himself too much which just shows his passion and dedication. Wishing for him to debut!!!
I’m very scared for the next episode because the set up for this season is G group is doing good but K group does better. I’m rooting for G group love me right they legit have like 5 of my top 9. If the K group wins cuz they did better that’s fair but I’m really rooting for them and hope if K group wins it’s out of their talent not popularity.
I might get hated, but Jiwoong is the living existence of pretty privilege. He had so much screen time from ep 1 to ep 3, but the guy is just so dry and boring and his dancing/singing skills are also pretty meh for a person who had already debuted in the past. He is also favored by the judges for his looks despite the fact that he made mistakes in choreo and voice cracks through out reevaluation and still get 3 stars? He had A LOT of screen time in episode 1 for a contestant whose performance wasnt even aired in episode 1.
I'm already in love with too many trainees there.... I wanna see Gyu Vin, Gun Wook and Ji Woong debut! Jay and Hui would be amazing, too. Han Yu Jin seems pretty safe rn and I'm happy about that as well! I'm voting every day and am hoping for the best😂
the way the internet and particularly knetz have responded to krystian is completely unfair. while i understand initially buying into the clip, upon any further analysis you can see that the footage is choppy and has been altered. it is impossible for me to believe that no one ever attempted to speak with kamden, otherwise i feel like we would have a more direct, straight up one on one interview about the situation from kamden. to add to that, mnet edited it to look like the trainees were upset with krystian at various times, but there were no individual interviews used that said anything about krystian being difficult to work with, and you know if there was even a hint of dislike, mnet would use that clip instantly. (like when some of the girls last season were frustrated with cai bing, even though it got resolved, mnet milked those two clips of doah and jia being taken aback by cai bing's words before proper translation) and then in the most recent episode, krystian's killing part is taken away because he's "too feminine" leaving him like two lines and when he is upset about it, suddenly he's the villain? but when other trainees were sad at part rearrangment, they were edited favorably as "they sacrificed their screen time for the good of the team" and "despite it all, he tried his best". then, when he's learning an entirely new formation and dance part and messes up a few times while still learning, it's edited to look like he's just a bad dancer or doesn't care enough to learn the dance. and when he asks for clarification on the new parts, he's shown as pushy or bossy. it makes no sense, because when he was on youth with you 3, the trainees all seemed to love him, he got good marks from the judges, and he seemed to be a good person overall who was well liked. theres even a scene of krystian being happy because every single team wanted him to join them, which wouldn't happen if he was mean or bad to collaborate with. as well as when he was in now united, a group that spoke 15 + languages, he seemed to get along well with everyone, and even helped the non english speakers with dancing and keeping up in the group. so out of everyone, mnet wants us to believe the person who spent years in a multi lingual group, toured with them, befriended them, and helped translate for other members, is the one who is least considerate of language barriers?? and the worst part is, almost everyone online seems to be falling for this editing, saying he brought it upon himself. people are attacking his masculinity, attacking his race and nationality, telling him he's untalented and should go back to his country. i understand not being a fan of his, no one is required to be, but just be a decent human being. you say you don't like him because he's a "bully", and then turn around and bully him over his appearance, nationality, or sexuality. it's truly evil how people are behaving towards him which is at the least, an unfavorable edit to make things appear different than they are, and at most a misunderstanding or mistranslation. it is ultimately mnet's fault for making g group teams work together with no translators. it gave a hugely unfair advantage to k group, who all spoke the same language, while g group had groups where only two members shared a language in common out of seven trainees. conflict or misunderstanding was bound to happen, and liang qiao from GP999 confirmed that chinese contestants were told that translators would be available on site, but were later denied because producers "wanted to see what would happen". mnet has a history of doing this to chinese trainees, and the fact that more people aren't seeing through this is crazy to me. sorry for the essay, i'm just frustrated with the continued hate and misinformation.
I didn't have a "one pick" until ep2 where Gunwook showed how caring, talented, confident he is. My top were always sHanbin, Yujin, Matthew, Gyuvin, Jay, Keita, Zhang Hao and Jiwoong, I swear Gunwook took that last spot that I was missing and he made sure of taking that #1 place lmao. He is talented and knows it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being confident in your skills, that even makes him more interesting. Also, how can people believe this "scary bad boy" facade? Didn't they see how he cried when they lost? He is a literal child.
The Jay rumours have all been debunked. There's a group of twitter stans that just does not care about the truth so they keep bringing up these allegations that have been disproven. That can indeed be quite confusing. There's also a bunch of them just blatantly lying??? And the rest of them just roll with it bc, hey more reasons to keep hating on Jay. It's really annoying how little the truth seems to matter to some kpop fans, and just plain messed up how little regard they have for the impact their actions have on other peoples lives. Luckily it's actually quite contained. Like it's only on twitter and a relatively small group at that. They're just really loud and really persistent. Jay's company did put out a statement saying they might resort to legal action after the show if people keep spreading false rumours, so maybe they'll get what's coming to them eventually.

I’m just a bit disappointed at Bri bc she mentioned it but didn’t even bother to at least say “take this issue with a grain of salt” or “this might be false or might be true” or something along that line, she was like “yeah, there’s this issue about Jay, about discord and stuff, I don’t wanna touch upon it so yeah, voilà.” (At least that is how I perceive it). Let’s be honest Gunwook SAVED the “leftover” trainees from having to compete against the avengers of g group. Those poor no star/1 star boys would’ve been massacred by G groups KTL team. Gunwook knew this and helped put together the best possible team of remaining trainees to go against G group KTL. That is SELFLESS not SELFISH.
If I were one of those trainees I would be really grateful for Gunwook's decision. It was practically a su*cide mission to go against the avengers team and yet Gunwook bravely took the burden.
And as a viewer, I'm grateful too... We probably could've had another "Hellbayah" if Gunwook hadn't persuaded Hwanhee to perform KTL with him
Really? i think it was more of a selfish decision and i am perfectly fine with that. especially given that the people in the group were mostly, if notall jellyfish trainees. he did what was best for himself and his team and that is perfectly fine. anyone who has a problem with that can go and jump into a lake and chill. but i think it is a stretch to say he was saving anyone. let's be real here, those rejects would lose against any other team. at least going up against the avengers would have been a more honourable way to die.

Not sure if anyone said this but Zhanghao was actually the one harmonizing with Matthew during the first prechorus! If you look closely, Zihao doesn't move his mouth during the prechorus but you still hear another voice. Further looking into it, if you look at Zhanghao's fancam, you see HIS mouth moving during that part and its at a higher voice. It was them both I love them for that.

I agree with you on Gunwook. Gunwook KNEW that the other trainees left wouldn't have even stood a chance against KTL G-group. It would've been all the "leftover" trainees vs. an Avengers team. I'm glad that Gunwook had even the guts to be like "Hey let's try it!"
Again, I also heavily agree with you about Kamden & Krystian. Was Kamden most likely frustrated? Yes, I'm sure he was because he's the only one who can't effectively communicate with ALL the members in the group. Additionally, I also see why it would frustrating because other people want to try out for the main rapper... but they can't speak Korean well and he does. BUT it's important to keep in mind that the trainees should be allowed to try out for parts they want. Krystian was literally translating and was confirmed by Mandarin speakers. People are hating on Krystian for a 3-minute clip that was edited and rearranged by a company that literally doesn't even try to hide their dislike for Chinese trainees. PLUS it's a 3-minute clip of HOURS of practice. I was really disappointed to see that two talented people; Kamden and Krystian, who are both not given any screen time till now are being finally given some screen time, but instead of it being about their talent, it's this stupid drama bs.

maybe this is just me, but gunwook has never come across as arrogant; he’s just a capable contestant who knows his own strength. i’m not saying that everyone has to like and support him, you’re entitled to liking and not liking who you want, but it’s crazy that this “big bad and scary” narrative is being spread around this eighteen year old. personally, i really respect his confidence and how strategic he is, but again, that’s my own opinion. (unrelated, but thank you for covering the kamden/krystian situation because i really didn’t know what to think at first!)
I’m not buying the arrogant angle either. I just see him as very determined and serious about this competition and about his career. Though I do feel bad for him at times because I feel like he puts a lot of pressure on himself. And when it doesn’t work out (like when he broke down about their KTL performance) it shows that he gets very affected by it and feels disappointed and is harsh on himself. It’s quite heartbreaking to watch. Either way I have been voting for him and I hope he succeeds in his dream even if it’s not on this show.

Honestly I also thought that he came off as annoyingly arrogant at first, but after watching ep 3, I realized he's just a confident person who knows what he's capable of. And my heart broke after seeing him beat himself over his group's loss. I hope he doesn't lose his confidence!
personally i don't think he is intimidating he has a lot of skill, but tbh for this type of performance I can kinda see why he wasn't in the top priority for some people, I feel like his strengths lie in stage presence and dance, but we havn't heard much of his singing, and a bit of his rapping so I feel like they wanted more well rounded trainees for this.
Did anybody else feel like the three stars for Yujin (and Gyuvin) were actually quite generous? Forgetting lines is a pretty major mistake and the other trainees who received three stars all performed cleanly (eg. Jiwoong, Cong, Taerae)

Want to correct you a bit about Love Me Right's G Group! Wumuti voluntarily gave his part up to Jay during the distribution of parts. If the editing is to be believed, he was intimidated about going up against Hui as a Main Vocalist. Jay had originally been gotten the killing part, but switched with Wumuti when Wumuti asked.

Oh yes. initially, jay was given the killing part. watching it, i didn't understand why. jay was the best vocalist in that group by far and should not have been considered for anything else other than the main vocal position. Wumuti got the main vocal position and even while trying out for it, it was clear that he was not having it easy. and then he hears Hui try the highnotes and realizes he is hitting above his limit and so he openly tells the group that he doesn't think he can do it and that the pressure of going up against Hui was too much for him. so he recommends Jay who willingly gives up his killing part for the position he should have been given from the very beginning
Gave is not the right word. He did give the the main vocal position to Jay, because he can't take on the pressure with going against Hui. But, in exchange Jay gave up the center position for it.
I prefer the word surrender in this case. He surrendered the position to Jay, and Jay willingly gave up the center position for the team.
Wumuti suggested the change. Which is a smart decision as the leader.

The editing around Hui is super weird. I feel like the show is trying to paint him as desperate and overwhelmed all the time, while simultaneously acknowledging how talented and over qualified he is. It's like they're setting him up for an improvement arc that he doesn't need. Editors can try, but they'll never convince me that he's struggling in any category. He remains in my top 9. I find it very odd for mnet to not mix the trainees for this round. In pd48 and in gp999 the groups started working together since the first evaluation so it is very strange that for bp this round is g vs k.
I’m kind of worried for the g group specially, voting ends soon and depending on who wins the battle they may be screwed. Koreans are not voting for g group trainees (as usual) and seeing how Korean’s votes weight more and some of the k trainees may get the benefit, we can se like half of the g group disappear in the next elimination. Hope I’m wrong but very worried for them, I’m encouraging people to vote more for g group since they can’t count on korean votes unlike k group.
Anyways, my favorite performance was the love me right, Jay slayed that, I hope he debuts (he’s my 1st pick), and Haruto, Winnie and the others did an amazing job too.

It's crystal clear that mnet is taking advantage of this boy's "big and scary" persona and to be fair it makes for good television, if anything it makes him waaay more interesiting than half of the other contestants. But let's not forget that this is an eighteen year old boy, like be serious; he isn't even close to being a bad person. If anything this episode proved how much of a caring and reliable friend he is (he made sure that not only him but all of his fellow Jellyfish trainees were not left last, plus he did nothing but encourage them throghout the whole training) Besides and quoting Zhang Hao himself *"we are all greedy"* of fucking course he would try to show off his abilities, of course he would look for a strategy to no be left last, he is a young trainee doing his outmost best to survive this *_survival_** **_show_* . It's okay if he isn't one of your favorite contestants, not everyone can have good taste 🤌 But don't go arround acting as if making an effort to prove your worth is a crime, plus didn't you see the boy cry???? he surely is under enormous amounts of pressure

I agree with this, never understood him being portrayed as arrogant. Since the first episode I just thought he’s cool and confident. The only thing I noticed was off was how they edit him and how they try to make him unlikeable.

To me, Gunwook made the best decision to strategise and push for his KTL group. At that point in the selection process, there were so little strong trainees left and the chances of their success would have been way worse if they didn't quickly team up. He probably also knew that the KTL song would just go to the leftover K team (who's most likely also the weakest) because everyone was avoiding it - the competition would have just been so ridiculous and humiliating if that happened, and I would like to think that he cared for the pride of the K group as a whole so that's why he stepped up. He knew that the chances of them winning were so slim but I'm glad they still put up a great fight till the end. I've been rooting for him since the beginning and god I hope he finds success here.
Gunwook is also my one pick. He’s has talent and the “it” factor. He must debut!!
7:30 Actually, what happened was that Keita gave him one of his parts as He (Min) felt that he had too little lines. it was not necessarily the killing part as the parts are already distributed by the producers based on parts. and so all the parts already come with their lines. keita had the killing part/center and he had lines assigned to him. Min was one of the sub rappers and he already had his lines. but he was afraid he would fade into the background.
Somehow, the masters seemed to have an issue with this. And it was only because the lines have already been assigned to each position and that can't be changed. their problem was never that he didn't do it well but that it wasn't supposed to be his part
i understand why they didn't let him do that. they need the parts of the two groups to be parallel for the voting at the end where they tally up individual votes for the G/K group members of each song. like they pit the two main vocals of each group against each other and then add up the votes to see which teams wins. it would completely mess up everything

I was so madddd at the obvious evil edit of Krystian! It was clear from ep 1 with 0 screentime that mnet doesn't want him so they had to evil edit him. All Koreans fell for it but luckily someone already exposed mnet (Watch Le Sapphire video on youtube)

Park Gun Wook is my main slayer. Since I saw him in the first episode I’ve been voting for him. I don’t like the “big & scary” narrative that’s forming. It’s insecurities of other contestants being used as a weapon against Gun Wook. I do understand the arrogant comments tho. He needs to understand that he can’t make a group win just by his presence alone. If he let go of that pressure on himself I think he could go really far. I’m going to keep voting for him & I hope he doesn’t end up as a series villain.
Also, the G group with Kamden and the lack of communication was annoying & I agree it looked super edited to be messy. It’s hard for me to form an opinion bc it seems super chopped.

I’ve watched Krystian in Youth with You and he’s totally different from what that clip is trying to paint him. He’s even good friends with Liu Jun, a (former?) choreographer of 1MILLION. He definitely come across as arrogant if you do not know him well. That’s because he has an abundant amount of self-confidence. He was teased a lot about that in YWY. And even if we just base it on that clip, we can clearly hear him speak English, probably mainly for Na Kamden’s sake.
I really hope people appreciate how hard it is for foreigners to compete in competitions like this. They’re in a different country with a totally different culture, far from their own people, and with a very big language barrier. While Korean contestants can focus 100% of their time and effort in practicing, the foreign contestants must also spend a large portion of their time in learning the Korean language.

Also about the Gunwook thing, Gunwook isn’t arrogant, he may have a bit of pride in himself but he clearly understands his fellow jellyfish trainees and himself and I think he demonstrated understanding of the other trainees on his team as well. He even said something like “don’t say that about yourself” when a trainee said how they can’t dance or sing. To me that is showing how he believes/believed in his team. I can understand maybe being intimidated by him at first but when you see him more I think he is just confident in himself and he is very strategic but is also caring and looks out for who he is teaming up with.

My top 9 is changing as episodes air but they are Gun Wook, Kim Jiwoong, Lee Hoe Taek, Wang Zi Hao, Zhang Hao, and Seok Matthew, Jay, Keita, and Hwanhee. I have my eye on some trainees like Ma Jing Xiang and Cong. I love seeing the stages and I’m biased because I love Pentagon, so I’m hoping for Lee Hoe Taek to debut.

Gunwook has been one of my top 9 from the start and I was actually impressed with his plan and strategy of teaming up with Hwanhee & the other jellyfish boys. For his young age which he doesn't look like it, he knows how to play the survival show game already. It must be because he came from Wild Idol. Come to think of it, the way he knows how to play the game, he might win other reality shows like Survivor or Big Brother for example. LOL. Also... HE MUST DEBUT. We all need a member who can wear the legendary MISBHV shirt like Juyeon wore in Breaking Dawn and he has the body type for that outfit.

Gunwook managed to form a group good enough to stand up against the avengers team among the "leftover" trainees. He saved the last batch of unchosen trainees from performing KTL. He also divided the parts that could show everyone's strength. He's one of the best strategists on Mnet survival shows, if you ask me.

the reason kamden was “impatient” (imo he really wasn’t) was because they had a little bit of time to arrange the lines of the song and practice, as seen in the drama of Min wanting to try out for the killing part again. But i definitely do agree with most of your opinion (i don’t think there was any malicious intent by Krystian or the other members).

Oh a technical basis I think Hui is the best vocalist, but with consideration to the members I want in the group and my preferred concept (Songs like Love Me Right/Call Me Baby) I think Jay is a clear main vocal pick. His audition and LMR show such good sense and style.
My top 5 are Jay, Zhanghao, Matthew, Keita, and Zihao. I have said I will one pick Matthew when the time comes but Ima panic vote whichever one needs it most towards the final. I can see realistically not all will make it but a girl can wish right?

With the Jay thing, there’s absolutely zero proof that he is a bad person (the person who made the initial bigoted accusations apologised for them being fake), yet a lot of proof that he isn’t (e.g. he told people off for using slurs in his discord and has rules in both his twitch and discord for people not to be bigoted).

I had a lot of thoughts about Kamden and Krystian situation because way too many people online kept saying how there is a limit to evil editing etc, when honestly speaking - no there is not 🤣 Editing can frame anything in any way the editor wants. The "well, he had to say it for them to edit it in the first place" - sure. He might have also said it in a completely different context and then mnet put it in as if he was always cutting Kamden when he spoke.
2. I watched YWY3 good 3 times and Krystian is a bit overconfident, but a harmless child. The idea that he was able to hide his evil side for 22 3 and half hour long episodes of YWY3 + some variety shows made for the survival show, but showed this side like it's not a big deal in Boys Planet is just laughable for me.
3. Conspiracy theory time coz it's always fun - Mnet intentionally wanted to make Krystian the villain, because he was never "their pick to debut", but he was popular even with ZERO screentime. I mean, dude was ranking 22 when all the episodes ever showed of him was seconds of his reactions to other performances. It was easy to edit him out in the first episodes, because they never show all performances during the first ranking. But now, with team battles, whenever they like it or not, they would have to show some of him. They don't want people to like him and vote for him, so the only option was to make him look like a dick.
And yet, when you watch the fancam it's not like he got so much lines he barely get any, if he was doing all that to be evil and for him to get more lines, he would have... but watching him being the back up dancer and had a few lines ... it is very clear it's Mnet editing... cause man *why doing all that? if to just being the dancer*

as someone been watching survivors show from mnet, everytime they edit some clips that with the strange sound i know it’s bad and stupid to belive😂 and i didn’t put too much effort to get mad or disappointed towards the contents bc of the editing 💀 they all do so good and great EP3 they improve so much even the 1/0 star

I really wish that mnet would've waited to broadcast all the performances until ep4. The boys that have performed already are the boys that mnet has been pushing to debut (you can tell by the editing), and they're going to get a week longer voting time than the boys performing in the forth ep who will only have two days. Maybe it's because my pick is in a group that hasn't performed yet idk. From what I've seen mnet has been obviously pushing certain boys and it's making me almost dislike the show. For example when they used the shine group to push hui's 'storyline',, the boys didn't get to introduce themselves and we only got to see a small portion before the camera switched back to hui. I love hui but mnet is making him out to be desperate and focusing only on him during the love me right k group instead of letting some of the other boys shine (lol)

Talking about krystian , I knew form the China survival show ywys3 , he's a very good ppl though..although I don't really like him at first but I really do like him after ..he even manage to get in to final of ywys3 but unfortunately the show stopped because of some incident..if not he probably will debuted

The top 9 for the fancam was views plus likesx100. This means the amount of likes a contestant got on their video was much more important than the amount of views: 1000 likes = 100.000 views.
Zhang Hao probably got a lot of people checking him out bc he was the center but at that point in time (early january) he wasn't that popular yet and the contestants above him already had base. On the other hand Oh Sungmin(K12>K8), Jay(G10>G6), Ricky(G11>G8) and Matthew(G19>G9) all weren't in the top 9 for their group's fancam ranking when looking at views only.
i've been enjoying the show so much, weird editing and all. compared to gp999 the atmosphere is a lot more balanced between competitiveness and humor. g group's kill this love blew me away, my favorite performance so far and immediately put seok matthew and keita in my top 9. excited for k group's love me right bc i think the winner is gonna be a very close battle. for my top 9 currently i have: sung hanbin, zhang hao, jiwoong, gunwook, keita and seok matthew. i'm waiting for more episodes to fill the other spots but keeping an eye on haruto, gyuvin, lee seunghwan and jay.

Have you seen the signal rest he had many voice cracks and he did the dance wrong the masters also made fun of it after he left the room so Gyuvin was more consistent than him in terms of vocals as for you Yujin case he is a freestyle dancer and not everybody needs to be a good vocalist in a group we have many examples of idols who are not good vocalist but great dancers. While both Jiwoong and Gyuvin are popular for thier visuals Gyuvin is a better pick cause he is a good dancer, great Chem with other trainees and fun to watch (if you watch there youtube content). If Yujin and Gyuvin are not deserving neither are Jiwoong and Daeul who are in the top 9 but I see nobody hating on them despite the fact that they both lack much more in comparison to Yujin and Gyuvin. It's just international fans have gotten into a hate train for them just like they did with Bahiyyih.
As for the 3 Yuehua trainee thing. There were 2 starship trainees in top 5 in produce 48 and 3 starship trainees in top 11 in producex101 I don't see anybody having a problem with it that time.

Have to correct some info here. In KTL G team case, min cried because he got only like 3 word in the whole song, which is very bullshit for me. At first his friend want to share their line with him, but teacher refuse that idea( mnet be a b*t*h as usual). That’s why he cried.
2nd case is LMR G team, wumuti is the one suggest to switch his main vocal role with jay after seeing that hui will be main vocal of K group. Jay accept this idea without any hard feeling and say that it’s for the team, which is a right decision for G team if you asked me. Jay unique vocal is the best choice to fight with Hui’s vocal here.

Mnets editing is super shitty this season because like there are so many editing clips where trainees just magically appear in different places my memories kinda but like I remember the my house performance there was a clip where the blue guy was on stage and I think the mentors were talking to him but when the mentors appeared on screen he was suddenly sitting with the other trainees

Kamden is getting more attention because of the evil edit of his team, and Netizens are commenting that his visuals are similar to Yujin's. He's a good rapper, probably one of the top rappers on the show. Yujin beats him in dance though.
I get the feeling that Mnet is prepping more angel edits for Kamden if he makes it past this elimination round.
Is the show assigned to multiple teams for editing threads and those threads are then tracked, like fancams, to see which gets the highest ratings? Because sometimes it seems like there is a cute storyline editing [e.g. Hiroto and similar Fighting! I'm rooting for the underdog if you're cute, plucky and talented] and then there is the expected evil editing [Na Kamden/Krystian/Chinese members] and then there is Seok Matthew [I love you, I want you, Seok Matthew - OK, we get it, they love Matthew and are setting him up against Sung Hanbin, I wish they wouldn't do that because I like both trainees A LOT] and targeted evil editing [Gunwook - c'mon, if you can strategize in this environment + dance/sing/perform @ 18YO, you're at another level, would you agree??] and mixed signals editing [what do they actually want from Hui's presence? The constant cliffhangers are making me tear out my hair, the questions to incite him to cry is frustrating, pushing him to perform over the top so they can give him a less than expected all star score makes me want to scream: hey, Lee Hoe Taek is a human being, too! Treat him better!] Other than that, G Group Kill This Love was the highlight of the episode, the red smear sealed the deal. Thank you for your update/reaction. Zhang Hao is pronounced like Jahng Hao. Wang Zi Hao is pronounced like Wang Dsih Hao (Z's in Mandarin sound like ds as in "reads").
The only thing about Gunwook that put me off was something he said in the first episode.he said something like "k group should win, its K-pop after all" which made me think he was implying something else? but im not sure. let me know your thoughts
It's probably something mnet pushed him to say. They are trying to have K group and G group compete against each other.

I absolutely adore Gunwook!! He's talented and he takes pride in that. Gunwook takes this survival show seriously and ACTUALLY does shit to survive. Seeing an 18y/o get villainized for wanting the best for him and his friends is sad and frustrating. Also, the stigma and the way they show/see him as JUST this big scary dude is weird. That man is a fetus compared to other trainees (like Hui). What's intimidating about him isn't his looks (he's gorgeous btw🤌), it's how he does things. He strategizes and performs like it's the last stage. Though, I think he pressures himself too much which just shows his passion and dedication. Wishing for him to debut!!!
I’m very scared for the next episode because the set up for this season is G group is doing good but K group does better. I’m rooting for G group love me right they legit have like 5 of my top 9. If the K group wins cuz they did better that’s fair but I’m really rooting for them and hope if K group wins it’s out of their talent not popularity.
I might get hated, but Jiwoong is the living existence of pretty privilege. He had so much screen time from ep 1 to ep 3, but the guy is just so dry and boring and his dancing/singing skills are also pretty meh for a person who had already debuted in the past. He is also favored by the judges for his looks despite the fact that he made mistakes in choreo and voice cracks through out reevaluation and still get 3 stars? He had A LOT of screen time in episode 1 for a contestant whose performance wasnt even aired in episode 1.
The scariest edits for this season belong to Hui, Jiwoong, Gunwook and potentially (Matthew (the yurina edit)

the way the internet and particularly knetz have responded to krystian is completely unfair. while i understand initially buying into the clip, upon any further analysis you can see that the footage is choppy and has been altered. it is impossible for me to believe that no one ever attempted to speak with kamden, otherwise i feel like we would have a more direct, straight up one on one interview about the situation from kamden. to add to that, mnet edited it to look like the trainees were upset with krystian at various times, but there were no individual interviews used that said anything about krystian being difficult to work with, and you know if there was even a hint of dislike, mnet would use that clip instantly. (like when some of the girls last season were frustrated with cai bing, even though it got resolved, mnet milked those two clips of doah and jia being taken aback by cai bing's words before proper translation) and then in the most recent episode, krystian's killing part is taken away because he's "too feminine" leaving him like two lines and when he is upset about it, suddenly he's the villain? but when other trainees were sad at part rearrangment, they were edited favorably as "they sacrificed their screen time for the good of the team" and "despite it all, he tried his best". then, when he's learning an entirely new formation and dance part and messes up a few times while still learning, it's edited to look like he's just a bad dancer or doesn't care enough to learn the dance. and when he asks for clarification on the new parts, he's shown as pushy or bossy. it makes no sense, because when he was on youth with you 3, the trainees all seemed to love him, he got good marks from the judges, and he seemed to be a good person overall who was well liked. theres even a scene of krystian being happy because every single team wanted him to join them, which wouldn't happen if he was mean or bad to collaborate with. as well as when he was in now united, a group that spoke 15 + languages, he seemed to get along well with everyone, and even helped the non english speakers with dancing and keeping up in the group. so out of everyone, mnet wants us to believe the person who spent years in a multi lingual group, toured with them, befriended them, and helped translate for other members, is the one who is least considerate of language barriers?? and the worst part is, almost everyone online seems to be falling for this editing, saying he brought it upon himself. people are attacking his masculinity, attacking his race and nationality, telling him he's untalented and should go back to his country. i understand not being a fan of his, no one is required to be, but just be a decent human being. you say you don't like him because he's a "bully", and then turn around and bully him over his appearance, nationality, or sexuality. it's truly evil how people are behaving towards him which is at the least, an unfavorable edit to make things appear different than they are, and at most a misunderstanding or mistranslation. it is ultimately mnet's fault for making g group teams work together with no translators. it gave a hugely unfair advantage to k group, who all spoke the same language, while g group had groups where only two members shared a language in common out of seven trainees. conflict or misunderstanding was bound to happen, and liang qiao from GP999 confirmed that chinese contestants were told that translators would be available on site, but were later denied because producers "wanted to see what would happen". mnet has a history of doing this to chinese trainees, and the fact that more people aren't seeing through this is crazy to me. sorry for the essay, i'm just frustrated with the continued hate and misinformation.
I didn't have a "one pick" until ep2 where Gunwook showed how caring, talented, confident he is. My top were always sHanbin, Yujin, Matthew, Gyuvin, Jay, Keita, Zhang Hao and Jiwoong, I swear Gunwook took that last spot that I was missing and he made sure of taking that #1 place lmao. He is talented and knows it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being confident in your skills, that even makes him more interesting. Also, how can people believe this "scary bad boy" facade? Didn't they see how he cried when they lost? He is a literal child.
The Jay rumours have all been debunked. There's a group of twitter stans that just does not care about the truth so they keep bringing up these allegations that have been disproven. That can indeed be quite confusing. There's also a bunch of them just blatantly lying??? And the rest of them just roll with it bc, hey more reasons to keep hating on Jay.
It's really annoying how little the truth seems to matter to some kpop fans, and just plain messed up how little regard they have for the impact their actions have on other peoples lives. Luckily it's actually quite contained. Like it's only on twitter and a relatively small group at that. They're just really loud and really persistent. Jay's company did put out a statement saying they might resort to legal action after the show if people keep spreading false rumours, so maybe they'll get what's coming to them eventually.

I’m just a bit disappointed at Bri bc she mentioned it but didn’t even bother to at least say “take this issue with a grain of salt” or “this might be false or might be true” or something along that line, she was like “yeah, there’s this issue about Jay, about discord and stuff, I don’t wanna touch upon it so yeah, voilà.” (At least that is how I perceive it). I hate this society for pinpointing strong confident and self-loved characters as walking red flags. Why does a “love yourself” movement even exist when people that actually do believe in themselves and their capabilities get treated as such narcissistic,ignorant, selfish extravagant human beings?
There is such thing as too much confidence. But in competitions like this, confident trainees tend to get twisted into arrogant easily I’ll agree.
