- Xenon Valkyrie is an action packed Roguelike Platformer with a few RPG elements thrown in the mix. Playing as any of 3 starting characters, each with their own stats and special abilities, you will try dungeon-dive in to the depths of a forlorn moon, as you try to uncover the ultimate weapon to stop an untold evil from enslaving your world! Perma-Death is a given in this Indie Adventure, but don't let that stop you! Not even death can strip you of your Teamerite and Legendary Weapons.

I've had my eye on this one, but wasn't sure. I think I'll give it a try. I'm pretty deep into a couple of lengthy games right now and could use this to cleanse the pallet. Great review! Good job, C.

@@BudgetGamerChannel just about to finish up Ys VIII and just starting on Octopath Traveler. I'm always grinding on Diablo and I picked up several indies on sale. I havent even started the opening title sequence on some of them yet.. haha. I snagged Grim Fandango for a great price, both games in the Bleed series and The Excapist this week. All of them are games I wanted to play, but I just never picked up for whatever reason.
Octopath! I'm between starting that one and Xenoblade. It's a tough choice! 😅😅😅
@@BudgetGamerChannel Dude, go with Octopath. Xeno has a good story, but the gameplay gets really boring. If you want to play a good JRPG I recommend the Ys VIII title I mentioned earlier or wait for Tales of Vesparia coming out very soon.

Xenon is kinda fun Caveblazers/Spelunky style stuff but I do wish there was more permanent progression.

This game looks interesting, but I have to finish Dead Cells and Hollow Knight first, so I'll probly wont pick up a rogue-like/plataformer for a while..

Sometimes the games are cheap because they aren't worth much to begin with, but sometimes I find a great one, and that makes it worth it. :3
I had considered getting this one on ps4 but switch is a better fit for this type of game.
I was curious which console i should get this for but only switch is on sale right now for pretty cheap. So I'll go with that one.

This is the game had 90%off on ps4, I have to hold on myself twice to not get, looks to be an amazing game and I never play rogue like
It was really fun, and I'm not the biggest Roguelike fan either. I HATE losing progress. 😅

Great review, per usual. I'm kinda over the rogue lite genre at this point though. I really love searching and finding the intentionally placed elements of games, and rogue seems like a lazy trend to me.
See I beg to differ. I love rogue like games because I enjoy the random change each time you play. It makes the game feel new and different each time I play adding to replay value rather than making it stale and predictable. Random question what does the ✔ by your name mean? I see it on alot of ppl on youtube.
@@Lantern_Jack first off, the way I understand it, the check means that the user has a channel with videos, and they're acknowledged by RUclips as a creator. I upload random videos of things for my own purposes though, and don't have a lot of followers because I don't have an actual goal of creating content to follow.
Secondly, the "freshness" of randomly-generated game design only applies to the gameplay and NOT the level design. Great game devs create levels/worlds to explore, discover and enjoy. Random generation of elements is the opposite of design. "Design" implies intention from the creator, so how can one have a feeling of immersion or true exploration when they know that the levels are just cool-by-chance, and they'll never get to go back and see if they missed something?
