Huell Howser what a funny man he was. Tonight, I really needed some light hearted humor to get me through some things and this was perfect, plus some education! I loved this interview. His questions were funny, somewhat naive, but really those are the questions that most of us want to ask. Well done. Great interview. Awesome episode! Oh my they saved the kitten!!!!

I remember when Huell chased off a group of looters from the radio shack at melrose and rossmore during the riots. The looters were suddenly incapacitated by Huells overwhelming aura of civic goodness, dropped the goods and retreated in disarray.

Wow, just wow! LOVE IT! Thanks Huell (RIP) for this episode. Watched California's Gold for years as a youngster but somehow missed this one. This is an awesome episode with some unique LAFD apparatus such as the Crown truck and pump, as well as the Ward La France wagon (all with shop added fiberglass tops). Love the open cab crown pump. I was an LAFD explorer in the early 80's and had the chance to ride in many open cab Crowns and what a blast it was.
Again, excellent episode and hopefully others enjoy it as much as I did.

Now a lot of fire departments will go on rescues pertaining to cats from trees. Because when you tell someone you're not coming, they'll do it themselves, and then you get paged out to someone who injured themselves from falling out of a tree, a person now stuck in a tree, or whatever the situation is or was. Even in this situation, most places it SOP.

Blessings to the fire service. Goodness to Huell Howser for his military service. I have been so blessed by his recordings. Thanks for the many videos. You are not forgotten. It's unfortunate the fire service members have to wear body armor at times, at least it's available if needed. Keith

Why would people flip them the bird? Simple. Those are the people who are angry at the system for their own station in life.

The average person does not understand what we do within the fire department. The only ones that do are the wives, girlfriends and family.
