My father was interviewed by Huell at Farmer's Market more than twenty years ago. We both saw him give a speech at the LA Convention Center while attending the travel convention 13 years ago. Three years later, he was gone. That Tennessee drawl was his trademark for sure. One could tell he was around when you heard him.
I love Huell, Been watching lots of episodes I have missed or were not rerun often.... Not the first time he has done it and I can't stop laughing when he does. The handshake at 12:20 LOL!!!
Didn't he pass away shortly after this date? Because I remember it happening with in the last yr. or so on Saturday night you could always count on seeing his show on PBS. He was always so upbeat, and curious about his destinations. Even the most boring locations he would explore seemed so interesring. Dressed in some sort of Hawaiian shirt, or other memorable attire. Still showing his reruns on the same station.
this was air in 1994!! wow!! 22 years ago!! thats when I first came to LA. I always wanted to experience something like this. Fortunately SKYSPACE L.A. opens this summer 2016!!! can't wait!!
My palms were sweating and my stomach was flipping the whole time they were up there. I love that Huell couldn't even look down (and that his palms were sweating too). Kudos to the camera operator. Also loved the window washer who kept Huell from losing it. Huell was such a great guy. He is missed.
I've been to the roof of this building before back in 2010 when the City of L.A. had its annual Stair Climb event where runners would run up the stairs to the top and then back down. I volunteered by passing out water and medals to the participants. It was amazing to be up top especially into the night hours. Glad that now there is an observation deck and even a slide!
Looking back watching this 5 years ago - What I noticed watching today was ***The Good Old Micraphone!!!*** Quote from the show: "In the old days, they didn't have this kinda high tech stuff, did they?" @ 21:46 Huell Howser LMBO, Funny, I heard him saying this as I was writing about the 'High Tech Microphone' from "The Old Days!" 😉 I actually miss this show & Huell!!! Felt like home watching him again, Thanks For posting this show!!! 💜💚💛 [Edited timestamp]
Now wait a minute what is this room we've just gotten in. It seems to be moving. Oh my Gosh. Now how does this work. You just press that button and it moves.? What is this?
This isn't as bad as when he went up on the Golden Gate Bridge or on those giant wind turbines in Palm Springs. Those were so bad I got vertigo. This one is a bit easier because he's secured to cage and has a harness on. But still, if I managed to ever get into the cage, they'd have to cover up the bottom so I couldn't look down. I think he was nuts to go up on those high places, but they are part of the California scene. Besides scaring the hell out of everyone they do present another view of things. I wonder if Huell had to change his shorts when he got home that day.

Ive been watching a lot of these programs and its really sad Huell is gone. He will always be California's Gold.
The palms of my hands are visibly wet watching this. I have so much respect for the window washers of high-rises.
one of my favorite episodes. Huell was a jewel of a guy. He had some memorable episodes.
Huell is absolutely hysterical. Holy smoke. This is pure comedy. The smog is nasty.
That made me so unnerved. I would have been on my hands and knees crawling
As a kid I used to watch your show with my grandparents. Now I'm 40 and I'm still enjoying your show. You'll always be California's Gold.

Willie Wharton seems like such funny and upbeat guy. I hope he's doing well these days.

Only public television can get away with doing a 28 minute show with less than ten edits.
I bumped into Huell in Palm Springs Ca. I had the opportunity to speak with him for about 5 minutes I believe 2 years later he passed away
Your comment just broke the news to me that he has passed 😔

That bro was cool keeping Hue going because he and I would not want to do a job like that high up. I hope that guy gets paid good enough.
