I’ve watched a few of these Bass auditions now, and I think some are just sending them in out of spite. Ya know: “I can play your shit just fine, without a pick”.
@@kyledamrow8198 I don't think the rule was put in place because they think that people can't play the song without a pick. But it is absolutely true that playing with a pick has a distinct tone that is different from playing with fingers. Maybe the best example would be Dave Elleffson (Ex-Megadeth) who always plays with a pick and sometimes palm mutes. A sound that is difficult to replicate with fingers.
@@georgedomse it doesn't really matter as long as it sounds good but flinger playing is better! I didn't like the no hard drugs, or alchololic more though
