Thank you Sarah,Jonathan and Ginger cat for your video and talking about sequins. I have used beads a lot but have never been sure about sequins. I think I have never known what size to use in embroidery never mind where to use them so this video was really timely.
As a child, I did kits with printed felt designed to have sequins stitched down with beads. I recently found one that was never finished (it may have belonged to my sister) but I should have little difficulty finding replacement sequins and beads to complete the original design. After that, it should be possible to transform it with additional felt or fabric and create something new and interesting over the original calendar months. This video has inspired me.
Hello from Australia again Sarah loved this vidio (I do love all your vidios though) and you have re-ignited my love of embroidery that I was first taught by my Mum x Nana when I was 4 or 5 x I'm so enjoying it so thanku so much for that. I have used beads a lot but even though I have heaps of sequins I've never used them as was unsure of the best ways to use them x the best methods to sew them down so now you have inspired me x I'm going to try to use some of my many sequins I've collected over the yrs. They really have been sitting around for many yrs, some for over 30yrs x they came for the most part in packs of mixed craft supplies I get at our op shops sometimes wich I always grab when I see any cos even if I don't use the items in these packs right away I do eventualy find ways to use everything I collect but I've collected lots of my craft supplies this way. I've always wondered if other lady's do this aswell or am I just strange to collect stuff x keep it for yrs before I eventualy use it?.. anyway thanku once more for another great informative x inspiring vidio!..
Greetings from India. I really enjoy your channel...watching with a cup of tea in my hand! You create such interesting work in this quiet , calm and humorous way...I am a fairly new stitcher..you inspire me to try new things with my needle and thread. Thank you!
What a wonderful video! I have a bunch of sequins and was considering giving them away. I didn't know how to use them. Not anymore! Thanks for sharing! I love your Ginger cat. Very beautiful! 😺♥
😹😹noticed when you did the first sequence and turned on its side I noticed there were two sequences squished together. I love using beads and sequence in my work, but I love the smaller ones, spent the last 12 months collecting 2-3 mm ones in a wide range of colours. I have a lot of the spangles which I bought over time when they have been on special as they do cost a lot more than the sequences. Thankfully beads a not a problem as I use to make jewellery and over the past 10 plus years I have a very healthy collection of crystal, glass, plastic, resin as well as precious and semi precious gems. Many of them I had bought for doing embroidery work and not jewellery as I wanted to use rubies, garnets as well as sapphires, as they are small they were not as expensive, I bought them for a dress I have designed and hope to make one day soon.
Perfect timing for my Christmas stitch planning! The sampler you did at RSN has some interesting things on. Can we have a look at the other embellishments on there please? Thank you Sarah
Hi Sara. I was just revisiting your old video on using an embroidery frame (I still haven’t figured out how to use mine!). What type of needle were you using to attaché the thread from the herringbone tape to the frame? I’ve never seen one of those. Also, do you ship to the US? Thanks for your wonderful, informative and entertaining videos! It’s the next best thing to going to the Royal School of Needlework!
you're making me do this sarah mate, i dont like enforcing the law but sometimes i have to do the dirty work and someone goes missing, dont want that now, do we?
HI SARAH, LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE LEANING YOUR NEEDLE WORK ON TOP OF GINGER CAT. NOT A COMPLAINT JUST LOOKS FUNNY. HE DOESN'T MIND BEING USED AS A TABLE ❎🤗❎
