One of the best in flight videos I've seen on RUclips. Thank you for not spoiling the experience by having some lame sound track playing over the top of it like most idiots on here do. The idea of watching these sort of things is to actually try and experience the flight yourself. 10/10.
Are you kidding? 5 course meal plus Haagen Daz ice cream!!! Wow, Japanese catering is the best in the air. You get two courses plus a dry bread on a Cathay Pacific flight, you may have an ice cream if you get lucky.

It's nice to see how JAL planes were like in the past. Looks like the legroom was not as good as today. However, the catering service was a still a star like nowadays, love it
went to Japan a few years ago, right before the mess with COVID and looking forward to lessened restrictions so I can go again, after watching your vid I decided to go with JAL this time instead of Air Canada.
JAL should have retired their aging fleets, however i love their high service standard and the inflight meal too. It somewhat makes you forget about the aging aircraft you fly with :)
I have only seen two of your videos, this one and another with an Uzbekistan airline, I enjoy the videos and appreciate how much detail you give! What camera do you use? Cheers!
fantastic report..reminds me of the good old days when i was studying in the US and my late mom would buy me a Jal ticket with a stopover night at narita and becos the sgp flight has departed i always being a student then would love the airport hotel stays with dinner and breakfast and of cos a good night sleep and shower before the flight home to sgp. well done as usual Gavin. cheers.

the personal entertainment screen looks like something in vogue back in 2003
its the old magic iii screen, which for reference, jal now uses the magic vi product, so this is a really old cabin

This aircraft actually isn't that old (13 years), but the cabin is still the "old" one. I think it will be updated soon.
