The star on the Hulk 181 is interesting, I have a small blue star in the top left box on 1 copy of Ast Tales 25 that is also a jeweller's variant. As you say probably distributed to an army or air base so the guys could pick something out for their girlfriends.
Comic Buying I use comic skin the slab I can open and close however many times I want to even made a custom Graded label based on the cover of the comic and the inside of the comic check it out on my channel
Excellent slabs, had a question and it's been driving me crazy. Okay so they came out, cgc, with a new case I heard initially it didn't have a well. I still don't know what that means, so I heard they upgraded and tweaked the new case, and said it has the best of both worlds now, that it has a well and everything else that the new case has. Explain to me the difference please, what is a well, how do I know if my new cgc holder is the upgraded tweaked new version or the other one.
I'd recommend checking out the CGC forum for their discussion on the matter and for pics and better understanding. Basically, the inner well is a soft plastic mylar that graded books are put in (sealed in). The first iteration of the new CGC case replaced the inner well with sheets of a mylar material that were placed directly on both sides of the book (not a sealed "well") before it was sealed in the hard outer case. Doing this was causing a lot of issues and making the books look like they had oil-slick stains on them from the plastics that were pressing against each other. It took CGC quite a while to sort things out, but I think things are good now. Hope that makes some sense, maybe I'll do a video in the future if there's not one out there already.
I called cgc and spoke with a women there, I asked her about the different cases, she said cgc has always used two types of wells. One is an encased type well that the comic sits in, the other is a heat sealed well that is a sealed book that is then encased inside the outer case. She said the first "new" cases only ran for three months before they were discontinued, like early this year, and it was just sandwiched inside the entire case without either type of well only using high pressure to keep it inside, causing all kinds of problems, it just floats inside. But that was what's so confusing, cgc uses two types of well systems, heat seal and encased indented well, the modified new cases also use either or well system, but phased out all production of the no well case, whew!
Nice books. I have to ask...but you don't have to tell. That pile is well over 2 grand, right? Do you have a favorite dealer to find good deals? Or just at shows, or ebay? Thanks
Hi! Ya, probably around 4k of books there. Nowadays you really have to work hard to get good buys from dealers, in fact it's not worth it to buy from most dealers at shows because they price their books above market value (mostly applies to the larger shows like Wizard Worlds - smaller shows are typically much better and you can find hidden gems). So ya, I usually find my books online now - ebay and other auction houses. I don't think I've ever found anything good on Craigslist unfortunately.
I haven't subbed any modern books in years actually, so I can't speak too much on the subject. I'll say that I slightly prefer CGC at the moment (not sure if this will ever change). However, CGC is having some issues with their new case and I'm not submitting anything to them until they figure these issues out. I also heard recently that CGC is being ridiculously strict on higher grade stuff right now, but that's just word of mouth. I hope to submit a bunch of stuff to CBCS soon and will give share my feedback. Thanks!

I have a question @comic buying : what grading company would you prefer for modern aged books: CGC or CBCS? (absolutely love the books btw)
I haven't subbed any modern books in years actually, so I can't speak too much on the subject. I'll say that I slightly prefer CGC at the moment (not sure if this will ever change). What is the point of buying these slab comics as you can't see the beautiful artwork inside or read the stories?
How much for the Incredible Hulk and wolverine comic
Sold long ago unfortunately. Would we worth over 3k, maybe even close to 4k now.
nice!!
Subbed thanks for sharing.
+Jimmy C Thanks for checking out the video. Hoping to post again soon.
It seems CBCS is as picky as CGC . But CBCS is so much cheaper. Does CBCS has such a less rep than CGC?
CBCS grades more loosely than CGC in my opinion, other than that I can't say much. They both have flaws.
the new cbcs slab grades as tight or tighter for me. I got books too prove it
GIVE ME! HOW MUCH!?
does anyone buys transformers comic book?
Tom cornilous ....fu
